My favorite phở spots are in Oakland but ale Soleil is not a bad choice if you live in the vicinity. I usually order the chicken phở, beef phở, the egg rolls and the whole coconut. Today I was feeling adventurous so I decided to try #201(Sate Noodle Soup w/chicken). It was good, but too coconut heavy for me. I missed the lemony spicy goodness of my usual order(chicken phở). Overall though, this place is fast, affordable and the customer service is good. Come try it if you’re in the neighborhood.

First time trying review here. Staff was welcoming, friendly and paid attention to us. I normally will only eat Phở Ga but I decided to try the beef and it was very good. The broth had flavor and the meat was tender. I will be back when in the area.

not recommended at all, i had Phở Sate. if you never have the real Phở sate then it’s okay, this one over here is a mixture of Crab soup, and a bunch of ingredients from phở, other noodles. Nothing like Phở Sate, and for god’s sake, they use egg noodle instead of Phở. The Phở they have also is very bad. This place is a very bad american vietnamese food.

I have been coming here for years and was happy to see(after many years away) they are still busy and in business. My always fav egg noodle beef phở combination and the shrimp rolls. Busy at lunch so get there early. In downtown San Leandro.

As an SJSU student I am constantly surrounded by some of the best Vietnamese food in the bay area(in my opinion). With that said, I am a bit picky when it comes to Vietnamese cuisine. But this is is not your typical Vietnamese restaurant, and that’s not a bad thing! They have a nice spin on many classic dishes that will appeal to a wide audience and will keep you coming back to try different plates. Where most other similarly styled restaurants fail, La Soleil delivers; but for those looking for a traditional Vietnamese dish, I recommend looking elsewhere.

Came in on Christmas Eve and they were open! Which is great because I would’ve never came across this place any other time. Both me and my husband ordered the combo phở and my son ordered the kids phở with the beef balls. The thin slice meat was actually rib eye steak. It was so tender and flavorful! My husband and son said the same thing about their beef balls(I didn’t have any because I gave mines to them). The broth was flavorful and not bland at all. We recently moved to San Leandro and was looking for a good phở spot. We’ve tried several around the area and this is by far the best out of the bunch. We will definitely be back! One star off because the drinks are a bit expensive and the décor isn’t as clean as it should be.

The food is decent with Hakka Chinese-Vietnamese locally ran this restaurant for around 10 years. The food great flavor, l like to order the Bun Tuoc Nung Cha Gio which is rice noodle with fish Sauce with fried egg roll. The customer service is superb. Cooks on of the most Authentic Vietnamese Cuisine with a Touch of French Flair.

The best phở ever! I was looking at the menu and so much of it looked really good. I was there for phở however so I decided I’d come another time and order something else to give a better review. After all this is not a phở house, it’s a full restaurant. However the phở here is the best phở I ever had so it warrants a review based just on the soup. For a Vietnamese place I think the food leans a little towards Thailand. Also judging by the name I would assume that the place is more French influenced as well. But I’ll know more about that next time. The soup had some peanuts in it which were awesome assuming peanuts won’t kill you. When I have phở I usually spice it up with all the peppers and some cock sauce. This time it was just so tasty that I didn’t want to mess with it too much. I did add a little of the brown stuff(Someday I’m going to learn what it’s really called, but I really like calling it brown stuff) and a couple peppers but it really didn’t need anything. So anyways, really great menu, and amazing phở for sure. I’ll have to come back and update my review after trying one of their other items.

Hungry for soup? Hungry for rice plates? Either or this is the place to come to when you’re hungry for some Vietnamese goodness. Their phở broth is excellent, better than most phở places I’ve been to(I’ve traveled and tracked for phở trust me) the beef and rib eye quality in the soup is tender is fresh. 5 spice Chicken marination is delicious. It’s superub. Good portion to get you to a satisfying full. I’d get this again and again and highly recommend it: The shaking beef is nothing too special, I mean it’s good but it’s not amazing, shaking beef is usually made me filet mignon but here they use flank, so it’s a bit tougher and chewy. Service: is your typical mom and pops service, so expectation of good service is not expected. Lol Good dishes though, you should come try.

Fantastic Vietnamese food. The place was clean, good service. Had the Sate Noodle soup with chicken and it was excellent! My son had the Phở Tai with meatballs and the broth was excellent and the steak was fresh and delicious. Portions much smaller than typical Phở houses bit definitely worth it!

Amazing is your noodles Satay Better than any fancy food, even duck pâté Food in general is solid It’s so good that you can’t be stolid Place is spacious and clean But come early because lunch time rush is mean it’s near T4 so that’s another plus Make sure you come here because their satay noodles is a must! Rhyme basically has everything you need to know. They have a noodle soup(Satay noodle) which is really tasty and is my favorite. Their other items(rice plates and other dishes) are good too. Like I said, it’s near T4 so this is a solid meal plus a great dessert place a few doors down.

I’ve been coming here for years with my family first opened and the grilled muscles are the best thing ever, i’ve tried grilled muscles at many Vietnamese places and nothing compares to these grilled muscles. I don’t eat beef or pork so I usually get the chicken and shrimp phó since I like to come here when I’m sick, but if I’m not sick my favorite is the lemon grass chicken vermicelli.

If you’re in the San Leandro area this is where you should go to cure your viet appetite. There are a lot of good places in the east bay so it’s hard to compare, but there is nothing bad I could say about this place. On the other hand there is nothing I was too fond of. I had the red Thai curry that was really good, and the fried chicken wings. The sauce was everything I expected and the chicken was perfectly crispy! Can’t go wrong with this place! I will def come back here to try the phở because it is in walking distance of a lot of great places in downtown San Leandro!

I’m still here downing a gallon of water because my mouth is still constantly dried and my mouth feels as if I just devoured a piece of cardboard. This is one of those restaurants that has never peaked my interest to bookmark or try. I pass by it often on my commute but never wanted to come. I needed some phở so I here I am. Remembering that this is phở, so an hour is more than enough time eat sit, eat, and pay with lots of time left over. We were seated instantly, but wasn’t served for about 15. It was really dead inside, but the waitress picked and chose who they wanted to serve. We got the chicken wings, #131(9) and the #133(9). The items are the menu are pricey than your typical phở restaurant– so I expected more from Le Soleli(especially based on the reviews). The chicken wings came first and those were the best things I’ve eaten all day. The were fat and juicy, the skin was crispy– it was delicious and the meat was cooked all the way through. Problem is, the phở came out like 20 minutes later and it took FOREVER. I had to actually ask them to bring out our phở before they did it. Their hoisin sauce was super gross, watered down and tasted funny. The broth was overly salty and so greasy– a literal bowl of oil afloat. The meat was overcooked and the ratio of meat and noodles to soup was heart breakingly huge. I wasn’t impressed at all from the noodles and it’s not a legit phở restaurant. It’s more of an asian fusion grill that serves noodle soup. I wouldn’t come back based on my experience, the amount of flies inside the restaurant, the lack of service, and the extensive salt intake I had.

Had beef Phở with beef ball. Clean taste, not oily at all. Came mid day when it wasn’t busy so I got my food very quick. Enjoyed my soup although the serving could be a bit bigger like the noodle houses in Oakland E14th do it but the soup was bomb nonetheless.

Had some classic and unique dishes here and loved them all. Classics: My brother had the beef phở and enjoyed how the beef was cooked medium and continued to cook in the hot broth. I had the chicken phở: generous portions, the chicken is shredded and abundant, great taste. Veggie spring rolls were my pleasant surprise… They were the best I’ve had in a long time and by far the best in the area! The peanut sauce was thick and flavorful and the tofu inside it really made the difference. Unique: the young coconut juice served fresh in the coconut! Haven’t seen this in Vietnamese restaurant before and on a hot day if was absolutely refreshing. The best part is scraping the coconut meat out with the spoon! The staff was quick and nice. This is my new go-to for phở and one of the places renewing my faith in downtown San Leandro.

Le Soleil, I’d say, is more of an Asian fusion/melting pot of all Asian cuisines vs an authentic Vietnamese-only restaurant. The prices here are on the upper end, especially for a restaurant in San Leandro. I suppose with the pricier meals, you’re also paying for a cleaner environment where you can sit and eat comfortably. It does get pretty packed here during lunch hours. The phở here was just alright. I didn’t like the shrimp spring rolls as the rice noodles were very hard and clumpy. The pork and rice dish was quite dry and unmemorable. The highlight of Le Soleil would definitely have to be the Sate Noodle Soup. I ordered mine with egg noodles. So delicious! I almost felt like I was eating ramen, but with wonton egg noodles instead. If you like coconut-ty soups, get this. If you like it sweet and mildly spicy, get this! I couldn’t get enough of this base. Nom nom noms. This is the only dish I think I’d ever get here. P. s. They give very little meat in the phở & sate noodle soup dishes.

I came here with a group of 6 around 6pm on a Saturday night and we were seated immediately. I went with the 5 spice chicken dish(tomato rice upgrade) and ordered a whole chicken to split with my friend’s half chicken, so we each ended up with ¾ of a chicken each. The 5 spice chicken was surprisingly delicious and surpassed all my expectations. 2 of my other friends also ordered the same dish and they all loved it. The chicken had so much flavor and was mostly juicy. My girlfriend ordered the pork chops, which was also way more food than expected, and it also tasted delicious.

Located on E.14th St. is Le Soleil. It’s not a phở noodle house nor is it an upscale Vietnamese dining place. But it is a nice, clean, spacious restaurant. On this rainy night, the restaurant was on the emptier side, so service was efficient. After checking out the menu, we ordered: Grilled mussels — topped with peanuts and green onions served with lemon juice and pepper dressing. This was flavorful dish and mussels were cooked just right. Salt and pepper calamari — nicely prepared dish. Calamari was crispy and not oily. Vermicelli with grilled pork with an egg roll. This«bun» is served in wide rimmed plate rather than the typical bowl. Lettuce, pickled carrots, cucumbers, peanuts, bean sprouts, and mint tops the vermicelli noodles with the fish sauce on the side that your pour over it. Ingredients were fresh. Disappointed that the eggroll was half the size of a typical eggroll and the skin was more like a Chinese eggroll than a Vietnamese eggroll. Not worth the $ 2 extra charge Chicken, basil and eggplant stir fry with garlic, oyster sauce. Chicken was tender and the dish was tasty. Fried banana with vanilla ice cream — nice presentation. Good, but I’ve had better. Tiramisu in a glass cup — Again, good but I’ve had better. Overall, a good Vietnamese restaurant in the area where some dishes were good and some could have been better.
