This place is such a ripoff! I sent my daughter in to get 2 apples, they were $ 3.39! For two apples that weighed 1.25 lbs combined? Last week my daughter wanted a small basket of blueberries, they tried to charge me $ 6.99! They are $ 2.99 at Safeway, the same Driscoll brand! Im thinking this is how they can have so many employees doing nothing in the store, buy produce at Safeway and resell at 150% above retail… And would it hurt for anyone there to smile? I feel like the older lady at the counter wants to gut me like a fish… Stay away…

Thought I would give them another try today and now mad at myself because I did! All I can say is if you desire a dry ass sloppy sandwich then this is the place for you! FYI produce section is OK a little overpriced but OK. Also, it would be nice to see cashiers and employees smile every now and then.

Solid local grocery, if a little overpriced. Great organic selection. The brands they carry are what I am usually looking for. I have ordered sandwiches from them for years. We still do and will, however, they don’t seem to be filled with as much of the good stuff any more. I am also comparing them to Farmer Joe’s made to order sandwiches which are twice the size for the same price and they don’t charge for hummus as a spread. It’s a solid local store. Lots of organic an healthy choices. They have clover and strauss dairy products, which I love. If they just upped the sandwich quality and topping selection a little… solid 4 stars.

I often fish at Lake Chabot, I did a search for deli’s in the area where I could grab a hearty sandwich on my way home. I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with what they have to offer! Their sandwiches, first of all, awesome, really hit the spot. But their general selection of organic foods, top quality goods, healthy drinks and an eye opening variety of beer to choose from(Pliny the Elder!). It’s worth stopping in every time I’m nearby, passing through, or finishing up a day of fishing. The deli fresh bread is suuuuuper good, more recently I had their tuna on seeded sourdough role. Mmmm

Amazing sandwiches and produce. I phoned in and it was ready 10 mins later. Sandwich makers do a great job in making your sandwich exactly how you like it.

Nice deli. Just wish I could find a REALHEALTHIER deli that served«real meats» and not so many processed meats. Would like to see healthier breads with lower sodium, and glycemic levels.

The ordering system is a bit weird BUT… The sandwich makes up for it all. I ordered Soft Roll, Smoked Turkey, Cheddar, all the fixings add Avocado ! It was amazing. Everything was fresh. I had been craving a sandwich, and I live really close, so it was a no brainer ! Im def a new fan/customer ! Great Job Ladies!

Woo hoo! I really like this place! Here’s the back story: I was a little iffy about going to this place to get a sandwich sine the last time I went to a independent sandwich shop that gave me food poisoning. Rest assured this is NOT what happened here. I got the prosciutto sandwich on ciabatta bread(all sandwiches are made to order) comes with mayo, mustard, lettuce, tomato, pickles and onions. Cheese is an additional 50 cents. They also have different types of bread like white, wheat, rye, dutch crunch etc. The staff here are super friendly and try to get to know their customers. Their customer service skills are superb. Store inside is clean. They also have organic food items here. This is a great find. Definitely a gem in San Leandro. Keep up the great work!

We so appreciate having a local food source with an excellent section nearby. Sadly their quality has been slipping recently. It is common for some produce items and very often their milk to spoil in just a few days after purchase. I’m not sure if the management has changed or what but we now have stopped purchasing dairy from them and will only pick up items that we will immediately prepare. Hope they can get their act together. PS– Moved here to SL from Larkspur about 7 months ago and live in a household of adults and regular airbnb guests. We all have had the same experience. Update: minutes after I posted the review above the owner wrote me requesting detailed info regarding the specific items we have had issues with. Her responsiveness and intent to resolve any problems were sincere. Their shop is a great asset to our community and we will continure to patronize them.

Decent sandwiches for lunch. The lines are long so be prepared when you are in a hurry for lunch. Also, make sure you order the sandwiches as instructed. They are kind of like the soup nazi. They have unique and hipster items. Expensive as well. Not your everyday quick mart. Be warned. [Full disclosure: I have not received any compensation for writing this review. I am so happy that a place like this exists in San Leandro. The first time I went shopping here I was amazed by how many of my favorite things could fit in one little produce market. The sandwiches are amazing and the selection is the best in town.

I come here quite often these days and the staff has come around to me since I’m no longer a newbee. Everyone there is always very friendly, offering assistance and making small talk with me. Love that it is right off the freeway so that I can swing by for my last minute needs before heading home for the day. Great fresh produce, they have my favorite Kombucha, Revive and offer a nice selection of wines. Thank you for stocking fresh, local items… you guys are one of kind in San Leandro!

Great local grocery of gourmet organic(non as well) produce, cheese, dairy, bread, bulk items, fresh prepared deli foods, health foods, international and local goods. I would compare it to a smaller version of Berkeley Bowl, without the fresh meat butcher and seafood counter section. I especially like the fresh prepared deli and health foods. If you need a meat butcher and seafood counter you can checkout Galvan’s Market Butcher literally right across the street. They referred me to Estudillo Produce. Galvan’s Market have a fresh selection of different meats and seafood. I ordered some fresh oysters that I shucked when I got home. Yum!

I come here for specialty products such as Rustichella D’Abruzzo dried pastas, organic canned tomatoes, gourmet chocolate bars, La Mexicana Tortilla Chips, bomba rice, hard to find vinegars and oils, Three Twins Ice Cream, Semifreddi Sourdough Seeded Baguettes, wine, Strauss Creamery products, artisanal cheese, prepared foods such as salads, and produce(including organic ones and mostly locally sourced). This is a small store, but if you’re looking to buy really good ingredients for a special dish or dessert for a nice dinner you’re cooking, then you will not be disappointed. I”m not much of a deli sandwich eater, so I don’t really buy that stuff here, but they do have a nice, albeit limited, selection of delicious cold salads that will also do for lunch or a light dinner. They’re now selling locally made and tasty vegetarian pasta meals that are nicely packaged and can easily be brought to work. My husband bought a couple of those for me, and they both worked well for me at work. They kept me satiated for the afternoon. You won’t have to worry about dealing with long lines here like you would at Safeway after work. The line goes fast and sooner, rather than later, you are out the door and on your way home. They also have enough staff members to help you on the floor if you’re looking for something special and can’t find it easily. Service is very friendly. As it is a true neighborhood store, they know their customers. Think of it as a small Whole Foods without the whole paycheck part.

I love this place! They make delicious fresh sandwiches to order. Everyone is very friendly. Prices our very reasonable. Fresh local produce. But the real reason I’m writing this review is because they sell Pliny the Elder beer. Very hard to get.

Great local produce market and deli! Super fresh veggies and fruits at fair prices, local baked breads, and a wall full of dried fruits and nuts to bag up yourself. Add to that refrigerator cases with local micro brews and local made sodas and this place is a winner! Downsides: Only 2 registers for checkout means it can get busy between 3 and 6 in the afternoon and the parking lot can be a nightmare. I like getting a sandwich, banana chips, and a micro brew. Oh yeah… I’ll be back!

On Saturday, 1÷24÷15, my girlfriend and I got a sandwich from Estudillo Produce & Delicatessen for breakfast. Atmosphere/Décor: From outside the place looks pretty small but when you walk inside it’s a different story. It’s vary spacious inside. They have everything from bottles of wine, groceries and a deli. There’s even a few tables outside to sit at. Food: I decided to go with the Black Forest Ham on a Sweet French Roll with American cheese, mayonnaise, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce, onions and pickles. Let me start off by saying the sandwich was not good at all! It was lifeless and plain tasting. The ham had no flavor what so ever. The French Roll was very hard and didn’t taste fresh. I didn’t like the green leaf lettuce either. The American cheese was a joke. It tasted like a Kraft singles slice of cheese. I don’t think they use real mayonnaise. I think they use Miracle Whip which is disgusting! The sandwich was horrible! The sandwich reminded me of a Safeway sandwich but Safeway’s tastes way better which is sad. My girlfriend ordered a Honey Ham sandwich on sliced sourdough with mayonnaise, American cheese and salt & pepper. She didn’t like her sandwich as well. She also said the mayonnaise tasted like Miracle Whip. She said her sandwich was very plain tasting as well and the Ham had no flavor. We also tried their Potato Salad. This was the worst potato salad I’ve ever eaten in my life! It was way too vinegary. That’s all you tasted. Also the onions tasted rotten! I took a few bites of the Potato Salad and couldn’t eat anymore of it. Service: The guy that took our order and made our sandwiches was very nice. All of the employees seemed very nice. Overall: I thought this place was going to have some pretty good sandwiches based on the reviews I read on Unilocal but that wasn’t the case. The sandwiches were just not good. I’d recommend going somewhere else or making your own sandwich at home.

I always enjoy grabbing a sandwich for lunch here because the servers behind the counter know my name and always read my mind with my order and make the sandwich before I have time to check my e-mail. The sandwiches are only about $ 5.50 so not a bad price. The line is sometimes a bit but it always moves fast. I often swing by to pick up basic breakfast ingredients here since it is so convenient. They are always friendly and have the staples I need and a really good pre-made fresh salad. Now I just need to get that a bit more often to get back on the diet wagon this year!

I recently decided to give this local non-chain grocery store a second chance. Three years after a less than stellar review, I stopped in before a visit to my bestie and her newborn. I picked up Cajun turkey sandwiches for the two of us and they were delicious. Quality bread, real meat, fresh veggies, without the bougie high prices. That older lady cashier still has that sourpuss frown.

Been a off and on again customer for a number of years. Place has a weird vibe. Anyways, went there today to get some stuff for grilled cheese sandwiches. Saw a block of dill havarti cheese and asked if they could slice me some. «No, its not for slicing.». When I worked in a deli, twenty years ago in my early twenties, we sliced dill havarti all the time. Bummer.
