Oh how I live Clancy’s. I grew up around the corner and can still remember my dad taking my sisters and I here for ice cream. They still have the friendliest atmosphere and nice big size scoops. Ice cream is delicious but it’s especially good here ;)

See? This is what happens while bingeing on ID and stalking Unilocal on a lovingly rainy Friday night… You find yourself grabbing the keys, gassing the pedal and heading for cream in your house shoes.(Yes, I have shamefully become one of those as of tonight.) Hello; my name is Tamara and I am an ice creamaholic. And Clancy’s was and is forevermore worth every craving. Darling little ol’ man who scoops up cream like its free for the taking. Macapuno? Check. Rocky Road & Buttered Pecan hand-scooped at 1.5 gallons so much so the lid won’t close? Check mate. Just bought myself $ 30 worth of cream to go with my new house, and thought my house was a treat! God bless the inventor of the sugar come and thank God for dairy cows. Clancy and I are a match made in heavenly peace!

My all time favorite place to get Ube ice cream! It’s so popular that every time I use to come in, they would run out so I’m glad they finally restocked in their ube icecream. This ice cream place has been here for years! If you are ever in town, I would recommend you trying it! They have all different types of flavors, but as you can see the ube one and brownie fudge are my favorites!

Best ice cream I’ve ever had. I had one with blueberry or something, it was delicious. I only got one scoop and it was huge. I totally wanted to go back for. more after I finished it. Gentlemen there was calm and friendly even though he was the only one there and had a line out the door. Very inexpensive and delicious. Beats any Baskim Robins or Cold Stone. Gave a 4 because of their cleanliness, place needs a huge update. Will probably go back when I’m in town

This will forever be my go-to ice cream parlor for some delicious and affordable ice cream. Clancy’s is a mom-and-pop ice cream shop that sticks to authenticity of flavor and generous scoops of delicious ice cream. This establishment is a humble location across from the Manor Library, with only a couple of seats to sit in. This ice cream shop looks very old, but has a very welcoming feel to it. The man who serves the ice cream to us is very welcoming and generous with the ice cream portions. Some of the recommended flavors here include the cookies and cream, green tea, rocky road, pistachio, coconut, and mango. They also have seasonal flavors such as watermelon sherbet or pumpkin. I would suggest getting a tub of their ice cream, as it costs around $ 7 and is totally worth getting.

I was driving back from Point Reyes when the bf wanted something sweet and since we were in San Leoandro this place came up for ice cream on Unilocal. So we decided to come here. Firstly, there was a huge line at this place which is a good sign. The bad sign is that this place looked super ghetto with bars on the windows and the interior looked old. The good thing is the the ice cream portions here are big and they had a variety of flavors. The ice cream itself tasted okay but I wouldn’t be back if I could avoid it.

Best ice cream spot ever! I will go nowhere else. Pretty bold statement huh? Well… The flavors here are unreal. They taste like the real thing. The Ube, the seasonal Pumpkin Pie… It was like I was eating the real thing! My favorite flavor is Rocky Road. I will admit, I cheated on Clancy’s with some Safeway brand and it was not the same. Sorry Clancy’s. Please forgive me!

On our way to drop a friend home in San Leandro, thought we’d pass by Clancy to enjoy some Ice Cream. Been wanting to try this ice cream joint after I read couple of good reviews at Unilocal.Unfortunately, it was a let down for me. I ordered the pistachio flavored ice cream and banana split. It was alright but I can buy that taste at Safeway or Luckys and it might taste even better. But what really turned me off was the guy serving the ice cream. His right thumb has severe lesions, it actually look like it’s rotting. It was really concerning since he’s serving food. He should have worn gloves or something. I was really looking forward liking this place but you’ll never see me here again. Mitchell’s Ice Cream in San Francisco still top my list.

Been trying all the different ice cream for years. The current seasonal for fall is pumpkin(of course), but there still may be some summer peach cobbler left. They generally have a lot of favorites around all the time, such as mango, strawberry and many chocolate variants. If you get lucky, you can find Tin Roof, Thatch roof, a cheese cake flavor, or even UBE! The ice cream is always creamy and light. I have always bought a single scoop in a cone or cup. I have not dared try the giant sundaes yet. This family run ice cream shop is always a treat to visit!

Clancy’s isn’t your typical ice cream shop. When you walk in you feel like you walked into a pawn shop. It’s next to 7 – 11, the shared parking lot for it is pretty janky, and the exterior looks like a ghost town liquor store. Inside is pretty dark and nothing like those bright and happy ice cream shops. That said, this is a great place to get some ice cream. The guy inside is super nice too. He’s not the fastest guy at serving ice cream, and it doesn’t help that he works alone, but he doesn’t disappoint. Not sure why he goes for this particular atmosphere for an ice cream shop, but the ice cream is bomb. Sundaes, in particular, are really generous. For $ 6 you get a crapload of ice cream. The Manor side of town doesn’t really have a lot going for it, but this hole in the wall ice cream shop is certainly a local gem here.

Two words: Chocolate Fantasy. It’s rich and chocolatey; chocolate chunks and what appears to be chocolate fudge all incorporated together to make a creamy and decadent dessert. I got a single scoop. I wanted 3 scoops. Gavin is a chocolate lover like me. He and I each got a single scoop of the chocolate fantastic but Tess isn’t real big on chocolate and opted for cookie dough instead. Don’t let the questionable area and pretty dark ass ice cream shop full you. The gentleman in his 50’s was soft spoken and friendly. A very small seating area, more like a small waiting area but we were lucky to grab a seat to enjoy our cold treat before heading back to San Jose.

Such a «sweet» little find here in The Manor! Homemade ice cream with enough variety to cater to even the pickiest of people! I enjoy a one scoop waffle cone with Pralines ice cream. It was delish! A hug portion heaping from all sides! The little man who owns the joint apparently has for years. My friend remembers him and his wife scooping back in the day. We paid cash so I can’t report if they accept ATM nor can I give full stars as I don’t know if the serve coke products. Now I have an excuse to go back! So good on a warm afternoon!

I’ve noticed that I have a thing for ice cream parlors!!! I think it’s because of its affordability & ice cream quality! It definitely is a hole a wall ice cream parlor! To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have gone inside if it weren’t for the reviews. The workers friendly & offer great service. They also make sure your ice cream is to your liking… Especially the sundaes! If you didn’t like how it looks… They would do it again. I ordered a sundae & it was put into a small container. Not even a bowl… A CONTAINER! Hahaha. It was such a generous amount of ice cream! It’s also stuffed in there! Lol. You can totally share with someone because the portion is so much… Unless you love & I mean LOVE ice cream. Ice cream is so amazing. Especially from here!

HUGESERVINGS!!! Who would’ve thought that this place was such a gem? Not gonna lie, the outside of this ice scream shop looks kinda sketchy. When you go inside and order, I feel like the owner pours so much love into his heavy-handed scoops and customer service. He’s a sweet old man, who gives his 100% attention to each customer! Definitely must-try! I can’t wait to come back and try the Ube or Mango on a waffle cone ^__^

This place is a one of a kind and off the beaten path, it really is a hole in the wall ice cream parlor that has been around for years. It is tucked away next to a 7 eleven store and can easily be missed, seeing as though I passed it up not once but twice(third time I would have given up) lol. Walking inside is like stepping back in time with it’s wood interior, vintage wallpaper and a clock on the wall that was reminiscent of a cuckoo clock. I absolutely loved that old and vintage feel, it really gives Clancy’s character. Living in Fremont there really aren’t any ice cream parlors there and I find myself having to travel to San Leandro or Castro Valley for some really good ice cream. After doing a thorough search via Unilocal for ice cream, amongst all of the Loard’s locations I finally found Clancy’s. Upon reading the reviews and scoping out all the yummy photos I knew this was a place I had to try no doubt about it. The owner was very kind, welcoming and patient, he allowed me to look around and take my time trying to figure out what to get. They have at least 20 different ice cream flavors and about 10 different sundae options, so you can see why I was having a hard time deciding. I finally opted for the Klarney Sundae with toasted almond ice cream, creamy thick caramel, whipped cream, almonds, sprinkles and a cherry on top. Hands down the best and biggest ice cream sundae I’ve ever had and for a decent price. This a must try place! With their vintage décor, massive portions, great customer service and endless flavors and options how could you possibly go wrong here!

A friend of mine who lives in the Manor suggested this place… and I’m so glad she did otherwise I don’t think I would have ever found it! It’s a hole in the wall next to 7 – 11 and across the street from Porky’s. We came here on a Sat night, 30 min prior to closing time and the line was out the door! That really says something. We ordered the following: Kilarney sundae(sp?) — my son got this concoction… mounds of French vanilla, topped with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry. He said it was«hella good». I liked the fact that it was only $ 5.35. Single scoop of strawberries and cream– omgee probably the best ice cream I’ve had in years. And it was a huge scoop for only $ 2.35!!! Single scoop of banana nut– my son let me try it and I could taste the freshness of the banana. It reminded me of biting into a loaf of banana nut bread, super yummy! Single scoop of burgundy cherry– I volunteered to finish off my daughters ice cream and it was so darn tasty! The older man that helped us at the counter was super sweet. He gave my kids lollipops and was patient while my kids made up their minds. Really good ice cream + cheap prices + superb customer service= a customer that will be back many many times for sure!
