Absolutely horrible customer service! Made a reservation with a credit card showed up and no truck ! Richard was completely rude and dismissive he was completely condescending and just simply should not be in any type of customer service business! There are plenty of places to rent trucks and moving equipment go elsewhere!

Every step of the way, this Uhaul made my move unnecessarily more complicated. We ordered two uboxes, stored them for a couple months, then used them to move into our new home. We were supposed to pick up in Irvine, they made us pick up in San Juan. San Juan didn’t have the right trailer for us, even though they knew we were coming. They never even called to confirm with us – I had to call them several times. Their weekend staff has terrible customer service, and doesn’t seem to know what is going on. They have the assumption that everyone moves Monday-Friday, which doesn’t make any sense to me. The manager was never available on the weekends to help with everything that went wrong. In the end, they made us take a moving truck to load our stuff into, then come back to load the truck into the uboxes. That defeats the purpose of the uboxes, and doubled the time of our moving day! Then for the two months they were stored there, we got emails each month that we were delinquent in our payments. We set up automatic payments with them three times, once ourselves, once with an employee, and once with the manager. For whatever reason, it never once«stuck» and we were slammed with a late fee. The employees tell you that you have to pay the whole thing, and then when the manager comes in she can refund you for a part of it. Such an inefficient process that doesn’t guarantee you getting your money back! I cannot stress to you enough, do not use this Uhaul in San Juan. It was a terribly stressful and inconvenient moving process, solely because of them. Pay the extra money to get real Pods, or go somewhere else.

Ordered and had installed a trailer hitch at this San Juan Capistrano location. The hitch had numerous, noticeable paint chips of the powder coating down to base metal. These areas will certainly rust. I have tried to reach operator for 3 days without success only to be automatically forwarded to the regional customer service office. I was told to expect a call shortly, it has been 2 days. A claim was filed on another customer service call 24 hours ago still no call. I went to the Uhaul location and was told that all the hitches they receive arrive damaged. This local dealer is difficult to reach, or follow up and has little concern for quality. My hitch looks like it belongs on their worn and beat up equipment.

In addition to renting Uhauls, they have sooo much more to offer, primarily janitorial and vacuum sales, service and repairs. The staff is helpful, knowledgeable and not pushy. Convenient location too.

I will not ever use uhaul EVER again. It’s not ok to let someone reserve a truck and then call them a day before they are going to pick it up and tell them you can’t have it you get a smaller one. So I have to spend 3 times more in mileage to make more trips and the truck is still the same price at the bigger one. Not ok.
