Went there tonight but the doors were locked. Are they closed? I just checked the website and it is down. The Facebook page is up but last posting was in May. Any updates?

Service was very mediocre didn’t take a drink order, had to get up and getting drink myself. We had a party of 6 they didn’t split the bill and ended up overcharging us. However the food was very good had the BBQ chicken pizza, really good thin crust pizza. Overall I would skip this place

We waited at the front desk for 8 minutes. There was no host. I called the restaurant from my cell and then someone came to answer the phone but I told her it was me and we been waiting to be seated. She then sat us at a table booth for two by the bar. We waited another 8 minutes. No one ever stopped by to let us know they acknowledge us waiting. Or offerred us water or offer to take a drink order while waiting for our server(whom ever it was to be). We decided to just leave and go to L ‘Hirondelle. We always get great service there. The hostess offerred us water upon seating us at our table. The simple things can make a world of difference. I over heard ladies eating at bar make a comment about waiting longer to get check than it took to get the meal and finish. The owner Sid was tending bar. he didnt apologize. he just made a comment back and told her she has to ask for the check. As the owner, one should always be in the position that the customer is always right. I would leave 0 stars.

Normally, when you walk into a restaurant and it’s empty at a very busy lunch hour, you would turn around and walk out however it’s been our experience when we come here that this restaurant is always empty and because we care more about our conversation than having an extraordinary meal we always choose to stop in. We were served by a new young waiter, Blake, who did his best to bring food prepared by the kitchen at their own pace which was fine because we were not in a rush. We ordered the fig jam bruschetta to start with blue cheese and bacon crumbles. It is a great way to start off your meal. We ate it so quickly we were not able to catch a photo! I ordered the seafood stew, which was an excellent preparation in broth rather than a cream base. The flavors of the fish shone through and because it was a chilly day it warmed me right up. I had asked for a side of bread, they only had garlic bread but brought out«naked» garlic bread with a very good marinara dipping sauce. My friend ordered a salad, I could not recall which one but she said it was very good with whole figs. We ended our meal with the bread pudding, always a favorite but it was obvious that this bread pudding had been heated in the microwave as it was quite tough and the inside was scalding hot. The Frangelico carmel sauce however was quite delicious. If you are interested in a quiet and not busy place to catch up with a good friend This is a good option. The food is very good and although the service was a bit slow we cut him a break because he was new. And more than likely we would go back. Sometimes it ‘s not about the food but finding a place to rest, converse over a cup of tea and not have to do the dishes afterwards…

I was really hungry when we got to Fiano’s. I needed a good meal. I already knew what I wanted. To be polite, I looked at the menu. Our waiter came by, and asked for drinks. I was so hungry that I didn’t order a drink. We ordered some appetizers too. Our waiter usually gives us bread, but today he didn’t. We waited at least 20 minutes. Finally the appetizers came. We hadn’t even ordered yet. Then a different waiter brought us bread. Then we ordered. we waited for a long long was at least 30 minutes. finally, our dinner came. we ate it, and left. I don’t think we’re going back. the food was good, but it doesn’t make up for the wait.

I just attended a birthday party here and it was a wonderful experience! Sid was so accommodating to our requests, even running out to get some greenery so we could decorate the tables. We were in as lovely private room in the front of the restaurant with large windows looking out to the town. Our servers, Ashley and Emily, took excellent care of all of the guests. The grilled cheeses is to die for! Highly recommend Fiano’s.

After being ignored for 20 minutes, the 8 of us left and had a great meal, lots of drinks at Cedar Creek Inn. We won’t be back.

This place is not worth a second glance. About the worst service in the history of all mankind. It was a busy day and they had a ridiculously small amount of servers. Not worth your time too many other good options in the area

«Not tonight dear we have a headache.» Might as well have been their line. Extremely slow service during happy hour and incorrect orders delivered. Pizza was sent back for the omitted pepperoni and they must have called Papa Murphy’s… Better luck next time?

Finally a more upscale restaurant in SJC. The inside is a little bare, aside from the beautiful marble floors, but the outdoor patio is fab. And the bathroom is very clean. On the table: Angus burger, salmon burger, spinach salad. All passed the smell and taste test. The Angus burger was a very thick patty that didn’t quite match the size of the bun, but the quality of both was yum. The salmon burger wasn’t to my liking only because I don’t like the idea of a salmon burger. Mashed up salmon formed into a patty. Mmmm,… I’ll just take grilled salmon, thanks. Spinach salad was fresh and fragrant with a blob of goat cheese on top. We started with Bruschetta, didn’t like the balsamic on it; traditional Italian bruschetta doesn’t have balsamic(maybe it does in the North). Still tasty, as was the grilled asparagus served breaded but still yummy. Service was very friendly and prompt. We enjoyed.

Warning! Funky review dead ahead! Funky because the food was all over the map here at Fiano’s. I’ve had this spot bookmarked for awhile, we go to San Juan Capistrano quite a bit and the neighborhood has quite a few good restaurants. Enter OC Restaurant Week. $ 30 pp and includes an appetizer, a salad, a main course and a dessert. First off I noticed really beat up tables that need white linens to cover them, alas no white(or any other color) of linens so we were dining on pretty scratched up wood tables and chairs. This is a fairly large restaurant, the décor could be better, a lot of dining is ½ and ½ booth — chairs and one of my pet peeves are«straight up» booths… the backing goes straight, which is not relaxing. 2 separate dining areas on both sides of a very loud bar area, hence you need to raise your voice quite a bit and really open your ears to hear your amore say something, even though they are right across from you. Some«niceties»: a carafe of cold water is left on your table and complimentary garlic cheese bread with a side of marinara for dipping if you are so inclined. Another nice little surprise is that our server Claire suggested a freebie-taste of their Moscata. It was delicious and I ordered a glass. Apps: I had crispy asparagus and hubby had the stuffed mushrooms. Both were very good, probably 3 – 4 star worthy. Salad: I had house salad and hubby had caesar salad. Both were a disappointment as both the blue cheese dressing and the caesar are house made and were just okay. 2 stars only Main Course: I had lemon piccata chicken with in-house made pasta and hubby had beef stroganoff, also in-house made pasta. Plenty of food and while both pastas were very, very good, an almost perfect al dente, unfortunately my chicken and the lemon sauce were so bland and boring. Hubby also said his stroganoff was boring and almost tasteless, both dishes suffering from a too-thin of sauces, and lacking any real«punch». Luckily for him, red meat as opposed to my chicken has a bit more flavor so my dish was even less of a winner. 2 stars all around Dessert: I had pumpkin crunch and hubby had bread pudding(these were the only two choices). We both declared the desserts delicious and winners, 4 star worthy. and I can’t imagine we would be back as Italian food is not a huge fave of mine and we have so many great Italian restaurants to choose from.

This was our one attempt at participating in O.C. Restaurant Week and unfortunately it was a fail. When I checked in, our table was ready and we were seated at a half booth table. Laina found the booth side uncomfortable, so we switched sides. Looking around, the tables were in need of some TLC( ) or at least a nice table cloth to cover up the scratches. A carafe of water and full glasses were brought to the table immediately after we were sat(which is a great idea) and our server Claire came over and helped Laina select a Moscato and discussed the Pre-Fixe Menu( ) for Restaurant Week. When Claire returned with my lovely wife’s wine, we ordered our courses. For Appetizers my wife selected the Crispy Asparagus with Cajun Sauce while I chose the Stuffed Mushrooms( ) with Italian Sausage, Parmesan Cheese and drizzles of Balsamic Glaze and Pesto. Our Salad course were the Garden Salad with Bleu Cheese Dressing for my better half and the Caesar( ) for myself. Laina chose the Chicken Piccata sautéed in a White Wine Garlic Lemon Butter Sauce, served with Housemade Pasta and I opted for the Beef Stroganoff( ) with Wild Mushroom, housemade Fettuccini Noodles and Cream Fraiche. For Dessert, Laina went for the Pumpkin Crunch with Pumpkin Spice Filling, over a Cake Batter Crust, topped with a smooth Cream Cheese Frosting and I wanted to try the Bread Pudding( ) with infused with Orange Essence, topped with Frangelico Caramel. With our appetizers came with a complimentary serving of Garlic Parmesan Bread( ). The bread had a nice garlic flavor, decent amount of cheese and a nice flavor. It was a step from most of the complimentary offerings at restaurants. My better half’s Crispy Asparagus was fried to a light golden color and the asparagus was still crisp inside. The Cajun sauce added a nice flavor without being too spicy. My Stuffed Mushrooms were very good. I didn’t really detect Parmesan, but the Italian Sausage had a good flavor profile. Unfortunately, the meal starts heading downward from here. Both salad were very boring. They came very lightly tossed and Laina had to request a side of dressing. The Bleu Cheese Dressing was almost void of any chunks which left the salad very bland(get used to this word). The Caesar Dressing was understated as well and you really don’t have much else in this salad for flavor. I will admit the slice of toasted bread was a nice change from croutons, but the bread only helped a little bit to liven up the boring salad. We were about half way through our salads when our entrees appeared. I think if we had been enjoying the salads we would have sent the entrees back, but had them tabled. The portions were very nice for both dishes and you could tell the pasta was homemade, but both sauces were non-descript. My better half’s sauce was nothing more than a light butter sauce with the only hint of garlic or lemon being the lemon slice garnish. The chicken was nicely cooked, but there was virtually no seasoning on it. My entrée had a good amount of beef(I believe skirt steak) and mushrooms, but the sauce was bland and thin. I am not sure if the problem was Cream Fraiche being substituted for Sour Cream or if they went extremely light on the Sour Cream. Either way, the consistency was not what you would expect and it was void of almost any flavor. At this point I felt like filing a police report, because I was positive someone had stolen my palate. Rohlinism: Someday I will probably no longer care what food tastes like because eventually your palate fails you, but today is not that day! The desserts ended the evening on a good note. Both desserts had a good flavor and Laina(my dessert snob) surprisingly enjoyed her selection. She also thought the pudding was good, probably because the chocolate was well pronounced. The combination of the filling, crust and frosting provided a good flavor and texture. Claire was helpful, knowledgeable and very efficient thorough out the meal. One of the bright spots of our experience. Unfortunately, between the prices and bland food, I can’t see a return in the future.

San Juan Capistrano has so many cute little places to dine, and I’m happy to have found Fiano’s because of OC Restaurant Week. Popped in for a late lunch on a weekday afternoon, and was in food heaven. SEATING: Inside or out. They share a patio with Sundried Tomato(half and half), and there are portable heaters. The wind picked up during our lunch, and the staff were super helpful and kind, and able to bring one over to us. Inside, they have tables and a bar. MENU: Appetizers, salads, sandwiches, entrees and desserts. They also have a happy hour beginning(I believe) from 4:00 — 7:00, which has their appetizers at discounted prices. I dined on the grilled chicken panini with shoestring fries. I devoured the fries before tucking into my panini. they had a pinch of garlic to them, which gave them a nice flavor. My panini was also divine: sundried tomato, aioli, mozzarella, chicken… and… offhand, I think that’s it. I was too busy savouring the flavour ;) The only thing I would change is that the bottom piece of bread was a wee bit soggy… My other half had the boneless BBQ chicken wings. I think there were about 6 — 7 in his order, and while it was meant to be an appetizer, it filled him up for a lunchtime meal(w/o feeling bloated.) I had a nibble, and I approve! The BBQ sauce is a little tangy. but still good! SERVICE: Danielle was an angel. Super prompt and friendly, and our drinks were never empty. She was on it! I can’t wait to go back to try this place for happy hour, and again for a nice lunch or dinner!

This was a much nicer place than I expected. I was thinking it would be Olive Garden caliber, but it’s much better than that. The ambiance isn’t too special, but the service and the food is top-notch. I highly recommend you do the bruschetta for an appetizer. They let you choose 2 kinds for $ 11.50. The burrata and the apple were both REALLY good. For my entrée, I got the lobster ravioli. I was worried the portion wouldn’t be big enough(since restaurants usually give like 3 raviolis on a plate and call it a meal), but it was plenty rich and filling. There were about 6 raviolis in a delicious vodka sauce, all topped with a few pieces of asparagus(which seemed random, but whatever). I added a side salad for 4 bucks to round out the meal. For dessert, we split the warm cookie and ice cream. AWESOME. Like I said, this restaurant was much nicer than I expected, and the prices reflect that. Granted, we got a bottle of wine and all the above food, but our bill was over $ 100, which is A LOT. New Year’s resolution to save money? Blown it.

Stumbled upon this place as we were walking through downtown San Juan Capistrano. I really enjoyed the ambience inside. They have a full bar inside and an outdoor covered seating area. They served us free garlic cheesy bread with a side of marinara sauce which was to die for. I wish they would have brought out another basket when we asked for it. The fried calamari appetizer was good, something that you would expect from a place like this. The deluxe pizza had a nice golden, crispy crust and the roast beef dip sandwich were both delicious. The waiter was really good and very attentive.
