Excellent from start to finish. I had a corporate dinner at Vito’s on Wednesday evening. Service was wonderful, food selection was flavorful, wine was fantastic. Vito’s happens to be very close to my office so we will definitely be dining there again soon.

Don’t feel that it is a 4 stars quality but perhaps there aren’t many choices in the neighborhood. the service was fine however.

I discovered this place via Unilocal while trying to find a new spot for italian food and boy they did not disappoint! Starting with the customer service, it was nothing short of ELITE. Made a phone reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday night but then switched it to 7:30 pm last minute and had no problem doing so… When we arrived we were immediately seated despite arriving 30 minutes early which was straight up awesome! As we walked to our table, I couldn’t help but love the décor and ambiance. I felt like I died and went to Italy. Lol. The food was straight up FIRE! The calamari was on fleek and the marinara sauce was just icing on the cake. A perfect appetizer to start off the night and it definitely hit the spot in more ways than one. Two thumbs up! As for my entrée, I decided to order that night’s special which was the ribeye topped w/wild mushrooms and mashed potatoes. I have to say the ribeye although perfectly grilled was not up to par in terms of taste. However, that’s not to say it wasn’t a decent steak as it did fill me up(I can eat a lot of steak). The mashed potatoes are nothing special here which is why I gave the restaurant four stars instead of five as both the steak and mashed potatoes weren’t up to my standards. Then came the wine. We ordered the Guglielmo«Tre» Central Valley which was $ 9 a glass and well worth it. Absolutely loved the wine! I wanted to get a bottle or two but settled for just the glass. Looking back I should’ve done it. Lol. Oh well, there’s always next time, right? After our dine-in experience we left the restaurant satisfied but as we drove off my partner in crime told me that she forgot her spaghetti w/meatballs which BTW was top five best spaghetti’s EVER! Being top five how could we not go back and pick it up? We called the restaurant and they patiently waited for our return. As we made our way back, the host noticed me as I was walking toward the restaurant and immediately met me halfway by walking out the door to give it to me. Talk about exceptional customer service! Overall, a great time and will be sure to come back here as this is now one of my go-to spots for italian!

No matter how many Italian restaurants we go to, Vito’s always manages to pull us right back! I had wanted to try a new place at first, but as we sat there, trying to decide where, we eventually just listened to that little voice inside our heads and made our way back to Vito’s Trattoria. Vito’s is surrounded by a multitude of industrial companies so it doesn’t have much competition in terms of food. There is ample parking around the area that includes a private lot and a public garage which is completely free to use. The establishment itself is beautifully decorated. I especially love the terrace-like section that is separate from the rest of the restaurant. Their iron tables, cushy chairs, and ambient lighting make for a beautiful spot to bring a date. We got to Vito’s quite early so were seated promptly upon arrival. Our waitress for the evening was certainly accommodating and checked on us frequently throughout the night. While the waiters at Vito’s are old-fashioned in the way they treat you, like calling us ma’am and sir, they also walk around with iPads to display their specials and take our orders. A strange juxtaposition, I have to admit. For our appetizer, we chose the crab cakes and for our main dishes, my hubby got the lasagna while I chose the vodka alla pollo. The crab cakes hit our table a little too fast for our liking since it signaled that it might have been premade. While the portion felt a little small for the both of us, there was surprisingly a lot filling for each crab cake. We loved the tang from the lemon and the subtle spice throughout the crab. It was a great start! Our entrees were served at the same time. The smell coming from my plate was unbelievable. Every piece of the penne pasta was coated in a thick, tomato-based sauce while the chicken was tender, succulent, and super savory. The dried tomatoes tied the whole dish together with its sweet and tangy bite. I shouldn’t have finished the whole plate since it was so big, but I COULDN’T STOP… My hubby enjoyed his lasagna immensely as well, noting how fresh the dish tasted. Served in a ceramic bowl that kept his pasta piping hot, the cheese was gooey and stretchy as he pulled it apart, the peppery sausage was well distributed throughout the pasta, and the tomato sauce was well-flavored. He even dipped the complimentary bread into the sauce as to not waste any of it. My goodness were we full by the end. Filled with such delicious food left us feeling very content and when it was time to pay the bill, we were even more pleased with the prices. Definitely worth it! I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love Italian food, but if you are ever in doubt, come let Vito’s persuade you with their comforting, mouth-watering, and delectable food. You won’t leave hungry, we promise!

We found this spot on Unilocal, when looking for an Italian place to eat! The reviews looked good so we decided to check it out! We were extremely happy with our choice! It was a cute little place, with a small area for outdoor seating! We were seated right away and the food was delicious! We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Love Vito’s — George and Anthony treat you like family! The food is wonderful; ambience is very nice(no loud people). Highly recommend! Both Anthony and George are delightful. George has taught Anthony how to run a business, how to treat their staff and customers.

We discovered Vito’s almost a year ago and I can’t believe I haven’t written a review yet. I like the fact that this is a family-run business. George and his son Anthony truly care about the business and take great pride in providing the very best experience for their guests. We really enjoy the food. Tonight we had crab cakes, blackened sea bass(special), veal, and for dessert gelato and chocolate cake along with a glass of yummy port. Everything had really good flavor and tasted really fresh. I really like the warm crusty bread you get with olive oil and balsamic vinegar for dipping. We usually sit in the tables in the small bar area and Anthony takes care of us. The mark of a good restaurant is really how I feel when I leave. When we leave Vito’s we always ask ourselves«why don’t we come here more often»? Cute little restaurant, great people, yummy food and wine!

This review is based on the counter service side of Vitos. My co-worker and I stopped by for a quick lunch. In addition to pizza and calzones, they also have some prepared pastas and meats and sandwiches too. I got the special of the day, which were chicken kabobs. It came with two sides. I got a rice pilaf and the potato salad. Food was decent and filling for about $ 10. Next time I may get pizza or pasta. But it’s quick and easy place to get some lunch.

The service here is outstanding. I think by far the best place I have ever been. Sat at the bar and was able to talk with Anthony he is a super sweet guy and makes sure your taken care of without being to pushy. The food here was out of this world. If you are ever in the area and have a chance to stop by I encourage you to do it. Again best services and Italian food I have ever had. Thank you guys for the amazing night!

so funny my first review was tagged by the restauant and I got a thank you, and then Unilocal said they were taking it down due to not enough detail. I did it on my cell phone which is horrible place to write a review so here is a proper one. I went here just due to the Unilocal reviews we saw and it was close by… good call. Very authentic place with great soup, salads and the entries were all very good. I had a veal dish that was outstanding and that pared with the side pasta was a huge meal. Others ordered pasta and were very impressed with the sauce and the quality of the pasta. This is a great find down deep by the airport, if you’re in the area highly recommended.

While I hoped to like this a little more than I did, after finding myself in the mood for Italian food tonight, sadly, I’ll leave with a three star review. The service: My waiter was pleasant, but didn’t know the specials well. Generally I prefer something from the specials menu, as it’s usually fresher and different, but the lamb and fish options both had strange accoutrements. No thanks. Quick service for water and my beverage; decent wine selection. The runner who was helping with waters and refills was extremely attentive. The food: I got the Caesar salad with anchovies and the farfalle con piselli e procuitto. Decent salad(maybe a few too many anchovies), and the pasta portion was a good size. That said, both the salad and pasta were terribly under salted. Normally Parmesan would have pepped each up, but sadly fresh parm isn’t found here(shaker on the table). In the end, I added salt and it was fine… Rich, but that’s what I expected. Decent quality food here for $ 25/pp, $ 30 with wine. Maybe worth a shot again, but my first experience was just kind of… Under seasoned.

I really would give this place three stars, but due to the fact that the service here was a little better than most places I’m giving them a little bump. We were greeted quickly and with a little bit of charm. Apparently from pictures on this website the dude who greeted us was the owner. He seemed very warm and friendly and made the initial experience very positive. The food on the other hand is simply OK. Kind of like an overpriced home cooked meal. There was something missing that most restaurants have, but hey, some people miss the home cooked meal experience. Still, it’s way overpriced for what it is and the main reason is probably due to the area where the restaurant is located at. It’s some kind of business area where everyone makes a six figure salary. So yeah, they can afford 23 bucks for some grilled chicken with steamed vegetables. Yup, no joke. The veal was good, but veal is always good. Probably won’t come again due to the pricing and the quality of the food. It’s not bad mind you, but it’s not anything close to be as special as the pricing entails. Still a nice little place that treats you very well. Oh, and they show you the specials via ipad. Kind of a nice little touch.

We arrived to a charming atmosphere. Pleasantly surprised. Service & food were slow due to other large parties. Although we always had filled drinks/water and bread; good thing. Food was good. We will have to come back again. We had the shrimp cocktail which was ok. Then our main dishes were the vodka alla pollo — good and the pasta with sausage — very good! Definitely worth another try.

Updated as I have now been to this restaurant a few times. This place has nice food. The tomato and mozzarella salad is nice with the mozzarella cut thickly, generously. I had the prawns with pilaf rice and vegetables. The sauce was delicious and a good portion of prawns. Pilaf rice was perfectly cooked, too. The bread is nice but they don’t cut it when they serve it, so it’s already a little dry on the cut side. Just a little detail but I am fussy about my bread. The steak is delicious — nice cut of meat and well cooked. Their sides are lacking — cold vegetables, once with my zucchini with the stalk not cut(??). Definitely would advise to pass on the chocolate mousse — completely flavorless and the texture is off. Overall I would say — service not great. No one is rude or anything but water is not refilled, neither are drinks, dishes do not come out at the same time, etc. Restaurant is quite noisy. And the AC is too strong — once, I regretted not having a sweater which was ridiculous as it was 90 degrees outside. It’s obviously a pretty popular spot, always quite full, but not for me. For the price, I think there is better in San Jose.

I came to Vito’s Trattoria on a Monday night around 6:30pm and was able to be seated quickly. We were a party of 3 and we collectively ordered the Vodka Alla Pollo, the Fettucini Alfredo, and the baked Penne pasta. We also shared a Caesar salad and a Mixed salad. I found the Caesar dressing a little too heavy on the anchovy flavor but the balsamic dressing was absolutely delicious! The portion sizes for the salads were also larger than expected, so I was very pleasantly surprised. As for our entrees, we all wished that our dishes could have had a little more flavor. Each of the dishes tasted pretty bland. Where was the salt, herbs, and spices, we wondered? Also, the Alfredo was a drier dish and lacked that rich, creamy, ooey-gooey goodness that you expect when you order a dish like that. I smelled a lot of delicious garlic throughout the restaurant and wished some of that flavor could have been infused in our dishes. On the plus side, the pastas were all cooked al dente and were quite chewy. This was something I enjoyed, but may have been too chewy for others at the table.

Their pizza can be better. It’s pretty thin and dry, in my opinion. But I think they have some pretty good lunch specials. And their pasta is good and their entire staff is friendly. This is for both the restaurant and the café next door.

I have met great folks on Unilocal. Some I am very close w/and consider them best friends, I dated a few, and some I am glad are out of my life; don’t need the negativity! This particular Unilocalette is one of my best friends. We started talking thanks to Unilocal Talk. I, for some reason at the time agreed and sent cookies to a bunch of folks from Unilocal.I didn’t want anything in return. What I got back unexpectedly were great friendships, an ear, a shoulder, and more. Josephine A. among many others enlightened me in ways I never thought could happen. Funny how social media can bring out the worst and greatness in people. She is no longer on Unilocal but of course we still keep in touch. She was up here for business so of course dinner was in order. We picked something close to the airport because she was due to check-in around 7:30PM. What looks casual and simple on the outside sincerely shows that we, including myself judge a book by its cover all the time. Maybe not intentionally but we’re all human. Once you walk in, you will see how fancy(in a subtle way) this place is. I felt severely under-dressed w/my yoga pants and Nikes. Josephine was hungry and wanted to make sure Gavin and I are fed well. She ordered the mozzarella cheesesticks and bruschettas to start. Eating healthy flew out the window really quick. I won’t lie. both appetizers were sinfully delicious. Gavin and I shared the Fafalle Con Piselli e Prosciutto which I «think» it means pasta w/peas and tasty Italian ham, haha. I know that the garlic cream sauce must have been 300 calories easy but I already cheated so it was only right to cheat good and go all the way. Josephine ordered a pasta dish w/shrimp. We talked, talked, and talked. It was great catching up and telling her about my possible promotion(which I got 2 weeks ago) and the things we might do together when she visits again. What I did not know was that she gave her card beforehand. Yes, she was seated before Gavin and I got there but wth. I did not expect that. It was a lovely meal w/great company. I only scolded Gavin a thousand times. Kidding. He was quiet but still. he needs to learn to sit still! He will learn. Will visit again but maybe during lunch. This place is kind of pricey for me. I generally would not spend on Italian because I can make my own pasta from scratch and the sauce from scratch but restaurants save me 4 hours of labor in the kitchen. We pay for convenience. #firstworldproblems
