I’m actually didn’t partake in the breakfast buffet but it looked yummy. Assorted cereals, eggs, sausages and fresh fruit. I had coffee which was yummy and some of their Apple ginger juice. It was good except I wasn’t expecting the red bull on it so if that is something you like go for it. If not you can ask them not to include it. The reviews for staff was not that great that I read, but as I sit here now I can say that I was really well attended and everyone was very very friendly. The restaurant is very clean and well kept.

The waitress named Katherine was very helpful, concerning, and gracious. Katherine made sure we enjoyed our breakfast. The buffet was wonderful with the help with the other waiters and waitresses. The food is good. They had your basic selection of breakfast food which filled us all up for a productive day.

Service is ok but it is a buffet. Great coffee and oatmeal. I could hardly understand my waitress. I marked my table with my breakfast voucher. While I was getting my breakfast she took my voucher. When I couldn’t find my table she kept saying right there, right there. Seeing she was about 50 feet away I didn’t know where right there was. Then I never got my voucher back.

The service here is just plain awful. The service can be summed up as poorly staffed and poorly trained. After waiting over 15 mins, after being seated, for the server to even acknowledge our small group and come to our table and take our food and drink order, we again waited quite some time for our food. When it arrived, our food was very cold, poorly presented, and the order was wrong. We were never approached by the server again and had to get the attention of the bus staff to to final get our check, 20 mins after finishing our meal. To the wait staff and management, although we didn’t stiff you for the travesty of what was called«service.» Do not be fooled to think that anything you provided was being close to par or a good job. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone if you are attending a conference or staying at the hotel. You’re better off just going across the street from the Fairfield to the food courts, at least your food will be warm/hot(if that’s how it’s supposed to be served), the service will be reasonable, and you won’t be left waiting and wondering if you’re going to get table service, if the server will come back, or if you have to wait quite a bit for your bill. Sprigs restaurant, you’re just plain awful and should not be allowed to provide food for any venues. The Doubletree should be embarrassed this restaurant even exists in their establishment.

This place is definitely clean, and from afar looks the part for a restaurant in a big hotel. But after sitting down, and starting to eat I realized there’s like no selection in foods. It has juices, pastries, fruits, and a big oatmeal stand. But that’s basically it. The hot food selection is abysmal, there is no omelette or hot food stand on the spot, which I almost always see at Hilton hotel breakfasts. Good thing this breakfast was on the house from the hotel, or I would be bashing even more. Three stars for having very nice, clean sitting area. And the foods that it has are ok. No big problems, just a small selection. Step it up Hilton.

Came here for a quick breakfast one morning while staying at the hotel(the restaurant is located inside the DoubleTree Hilton hotel). Decided to forgo the expensive buffet and just ordered off the menu. I ordered the breakfast grilled cheese which was kind of like a fried egg sandwich with bacon and it was HUGE. It was actually pretty tasty although not that different than Jack In the Box’s fried egg breakfast sandwich which is definitely cheaper. Daughter ordered the bread pudding french toast which she loved. She said it tasted just like bread pudding(I can’t eat sweets in the morning, but would have loved to try it). While it’s not the best breakfast we’ve ever had, we both were pretty happy with what we got and I didn’t feel like we broke the bank either.

Brown iceberg lettuce does not a nice salad make. It was the black bean salad, which had a smattering of black beans and a few pieces of cheese … otherwise it was the brownish lettuce. Again? Not a chance.

Clean and open space. Service was okay. I guess I’m just spoiled by the other Hilton affliated hotel(Embassy Suites). The main complaint I have for this place is the price. For what they put out and the cost of the hotel itself, I would pass on this one.

While at Disneyland I paid 30 dollars for a buffet that wasn’t half as big as this. Fruit, links, bacon, eggs, sweet breads, french toast and cold OJ. And all for 15 dollars. It was yummy and I was happy to pay it for a buffet. However their lunch menu is in desperate need of additions. We both ended up getting salads(as from the small menu nothing else sounded good) and which took(for salad) quite a bit of time. But at 15 dollars a plate? It simply wasn’t worth it. Service was okay, but anywhere else I would have gotten up and left to find a cheaper, larger menu’d option. Meh

Ok, this review is JUST for the coffee kiosk area… I have not eaten in the restaurant itself. The Sprigs/Starbucks coffee area has a nice little selection of pastries and drinks to satisfy my morning breakfast needs with my $ 10 «free breakfast» voucher. And, the staff that works there is ALWAYS pleasant and helpful and efficient.

Ate here in January for the last time. While the food isn’t bad, it’s not particularly good, and certainly not good enough to justify the price. A really basic breakfast buffet for $ 20? Ouch. I had a burger from the lunch menu the day before and it was tasty but underwhelming, and again, the price was steep. They also wanted me to sign a wavier because I was ordering it rare, then never brought me the waiver. Was, I’ll be truthful, a wee bit odd. The menu choices were also severely curtailed, but I think this might have been because it was during a convention. Either way, I’ll walk a block or two next time to save money and get a better meal.

This place used to be the fantastic Coffee Garden that attendees of Further Confusion used to love to eat at. Now, however, it has become a place of high prices, low quality, and little variety. I used to delight at the breakfast spread of FCs past, but the spread at Sprigs during FC09 was pathetically small. Way to send off a con that has loyally stuck around for more than half a decade. Moreover, I seem to remember Sprigs charging almost $ 20 for the breakfast buffet, much more than I remember the Coffee Garden being. For this money, I’d just head over to Spencer’s and get a nice steak.

The Coffee Garden: 1982 — 2008 Like a Phoenix full of crap, Sprigs has risen from the ashes of what had become a wonderful Coffee Garden with a serious step backwards. Bay Area fandom came to tolerate the Coffee Garden and its semi-serious attempts at making people happy, but then it turned into a place with better food and service as of last year. Everyone raved about it at Further Confusion, which was deserved as i thad really improved. They then closed for a few months and reopened as Sprigs. what a disaster The place looks OK, green seems to be the theme, and the chairs are OK, but that covers the bad part. The food has taken a step back, which is made worse because they’ve cut their menu in more than ½. there’s almost nothing left! Even worse, the place is only opened from 6am to 2pm, and soon they’ll be getting rid of all lunches. It\s obvious that this is being done to increase the amount of business that spencer’s gets from travelers. They’ve even gone so far as to make Spencer\s the Room Service provider! All in all, it’s a crappy ‘upgrade’
