This panaderia is SUPERCHEAP compared to the quality of their baked goods. The lady was very nice. We bought two cookies, two conches, two bread things with red frosting, and a HUGE piece of flakey bread with sugar and butter on top for 5 bucks!!! All delicious!

i dont know what i got. i pointed to it because it looked good. it ended up being a bread biscuit. kind of like what you get at kfc, but bigger and less buttery. it didn’t have much taste at all. im not a fan. i wanted dessert and it didnt hit the spot. apparently, their pan dulce is really good so ill have to check that out next time.

I really need tinted windows. Today, after thoroughly enjoying myself and finishing right in the front seat of my car, I looked over and saw the man in the car next to me quite wide-eyed. There was drool running down his face. And he was unblinking. I smiled and waved. Checked myself in the mirror. Found a napkin. Cleaned myself up. And drove off. I just can’t help eating in the car, so I am often caught in the act. I like to pretend that maybe how I was eating was somewhat seductive, but in reality, I know I am getting that look because I can really scarf down food. I might look like a lady, but that’s obviously not the case. I could blame my family, because we never knew where our next meal was coming from, and when it did arrive, we fought for every last bite. But it’s not their fault. It’s mine. I am addicted to the pleasure that is food. Today’s addiction: pastries. Dear God, they were SO good. Let’s back-up. I went back to The Tamale Factory today(formerly Lucy’s Tamale Factory, the business card I picked up today reflected the new name, as did the sign outside, though the employees were still wearing Lucy’s Tamale Factory Shirts) and as soon as I opened my car door, all I could smell was freshly baked goodness. Though tamales were calling my name, I had to peek in to Rica Panaderia 2 first. Please see the pictures. Everything looked amazing and I knew I had to leave with at least a few items, even if it meant regretting it later on the treadmill. I didn’t know the names for anything I was looking at, so I just pointed and asked questions. The woman who helped me didn’t speak English, and my Spanish is probably equivalent to an 11 month old, so we did lots of gesturing. I ended up with a bag of deliciousness. I ran into the Tamale Factory to get another batch of tamales and could barely keep my hands out of the bag of pastries until I got to my car. As soon as I sat down, I grabbed a pastry that was cream filled, and was close to food orgasm for a few minutes. I couldn’t help licking my fingers, closing my eyes and savoring each bite, and audibly moaning. Then I noticed that man eyeing me, and had to rush off in a hurry. But now that I have found an amazing pastry place, I will be back. And since it’s right next door to The Tamale Factory, I will be a happy, happy girl. They are both worthy of some extra hours in the gym.

Where can I get those pan dulce ???(I said to myself). There’s a lot of panaderia around here in San Jose… hmmm. Well, I just happened to be at Lucy’s Tamales here in White Rd… next to it, is this place. So I checked out their goods. I bought a couple of those pan dulce. one of em has custard inside… I was blown away… it really tasted so good and fresh!!! I knew I should have bought more!!! I had the taste of it when I was on my way home already… too late now… but will definitely swing by when I have a chance next time…=)
