Tried this place for the first time today. I liked it but I have a weak stomach :/so wasn’t able to finish. The food was fresh and super hot even though we took to go. We will definitely b back but to eat there. We want to try the banana empinadas, tamales, and I seen a few other things but I’m not familiar w the names. The worker that helped us was friendly and very helpful. Anyway it’s worth trying.

I live nearby and have seen this place come and go from so many different food types. Pupusas sound good so wanted to try it. I’m vegetarian, so options are limited, but there were a few that looked interesting. I had read about this salsa bar so was pretty disappointed to see a whopping. TWO salsas. What kind of salsa bar is that? We got two pupusas, but my partner and I were both disappointed. Seemed like they should have been cooked more or something. There was nothing crispy, the cornmeal and cheese had about the same consistency. I’d rather make a quesadilla at home in my toaster oven.

Yaaass. Do it do it! I called a to go order, and got so excited that I bought enough food for three. Got a few pupusas(I liked the cheese ones the best). They’re a little too oily for my liking, but they’re still delicious. A very hearty meal and they keep them super hot when you order to go. Tamales: Honestly, were the highlight of my meal. They were superrrrr soft and seasoned, probably the best tamales I’ve had. Sopes: were good, a little heavier than I would have wanted but still delicious. Check it out check it out! Also their chips were amazing and they give you tons of salsa and you can get your own sauce when you order take out.

I have mixed feelings about this place, not terrible and It really deserves the three stars but I have a few issues with the authenticity of there food. As a self proclaimed expert in authentic Salvadorian food I’m afraid I have to review this place on the basis of authenticity. Let me start with the positives. Services was top notch, extremely friendly, attentive and the food came out fast. They have a salsa bar with a few options and I really liked the chipotle-like sauce. Unfortunately, they bill themselves as Mexican/Salvadorian food, and from what I can tell there is much more attention to the Mexican part. I ordered pan con pollo, and was a little disappointed that rather than using the traditional french roll, it was on Mexican torta bread which was pretty heavy, and extremely dry. The pupusa’s were okay with good thickness of the masa. However, the curtido was extremely dry. When I asked the server why it looks as though they drain the vinegar out, he explained it keeps the curtido fresh longer. To this I would have to disagree, as the longer the cordita marinates in vinegar the better it is usually. Finally the Salvadorian tamales didn’t seem fresh, almost as though they had been frozen and reheated. Bottom line, while this seems like not such a positive review, not at all a terrible place with great service and I did not sample anything from their Mexican menu. But as far as getting my authentic Salvadorian fix… I’d probably pass.

I was dissaponited Mama Do’s disappeared, but excited for a new pupusa place in the neighborhood. Came on a Tuesday evening and there were two tables occupied, a family waiting for a to go order. Ordered a cheese & jalapeño and a revueltas(pork bean and cheese) pupusa to go. I asked if I can pay with card, and guy says yes. But then I see a sign that says $ 10 debit minimum(they should change it to credit card/debit minimum), and the other guy says no. So I paid with cash, but not until the time I came back. Trying to pay was a pain, they completely ignored me, so I said I would come back in 10 minutes(They told me a 15 minute wait). Came back and picked up some salsas, and grabbed the avocado salsa, their famous orange sauce, and a spicy red salsa. I asked for chips and they gave me plenty. The pupusas were just okay, I felt the corn/flour mix was too heavy. Lots of cheese which was great. The standout though was the salsas. The orange sauce is really better than La Vic’s and the avocado salsa was super tasty too. I would go back and try a burrito or something, just to have some more salsa. Would recommend they have more of an urgency with customer service here though.

Pupusas! A little greasy but all pupusas are lol — my favorite pupusa was the pork and beans — so delicious! The shrimp one was more expensive and it barely has any shrimp, wouldn’t try that one again. Chips were fresh and had lots of variety on the salsa. Service was friendly and fast. Try the orange sauce!
