Peet’s Coffee & Tea

So much nicer to walk into than Starbucks. Way more room and less crowded with high schoolers. Don’t have to stand in line for 5 minutes and then wait around for 5 minutes for a simple drink to be made. I’m usually in and out within minutes!

This Peet’s location is great. I love the modern feel. It’s just a bit limited with the indoor seating. There’s plenty of outdoor seating though.
I always get an iced white mocha. Love their whipped cream! Overall, the coffee is great. Not watered down, like some other coffee shops… :)

This place has pretty good drinks – I have tried several I haven’t tried before through the promotions of all things pumpkin. However, there are not enough seats that are near outlets and away from windows. Most of the tables are pretty small, too. The wi-​fi is the slowest I have ever used at a coffee shop and is almost as crappy as Boulanger. Typically, it is about dial-​up speed, 2 – 6 mbps. Once in a while it’s faster for mysterious reasons, but it takes forever for stuff to load, making it hard to get stuff done quickly. That and rude people who don’t know when to take their phone calls — or loud, obnoxious kids — outside. That’s kind of why they have so many tables outside. When I was a kid, we often sat in the car to eat at fast food places like this. Better assortment of milks than at Starbucks, and they have honey as well.

Mayan mocha was awesome! Cool place to chill and study. I can imagine myself coming here on Sunday morning, have a cup of coffee and relax.

This place is lovely! I love the modern homey feel to it and it has great coffee and food. I got a vanilla latte and an apple bread thing (forgot the name, but it was so good! I brought physics homework with my friend and it was a nice place to study too :)

Energetic crew, they can move a crowd along. Engaging, friendly and the wifi seems squared away at this location.

Peets’ are not created equal. This is my favorite by far! They make your drinks better. I can say «half almond milk, half 2% pumpkin latte with four pumps of syrup» at several stores and each one will be different. This is by far the best Peet’s

Great service and food all the time! I’m always craving their Mocha Javivas. Lol, I try to stop by every chance I get!

I tried their new Pomegranate Berry Iced Tea Infusion & it was so tasty. I forgot to tell them to sweeten it but I added the sugar myself afterwards & it made a huge difference; definitely drink it sweet.
The shop isn’t too packed during the morning but it’s still a full house & most seats are taken by 8am… but I like sitting outside to get fresh air anyways but if you’d rather sit indoors then come by early since they open at 5am anyways.

Awesome staff! Awesome service! Awesome coffee and awesome banana bread! The small lattes automatically come with 2 shots so there’s no need to pay extra to get that extra kick of caffeine in the AM.

A very friendly coffe shop with a great group of baristas. I would give it a 5 star but… Seats. Seats. Seats.
There are not that many seats with electrical cords available. Also, the interior design of the store is… Just a little off.
The tea tastes great tho!

The staff is awesome and fun to chat with. Just very nice folks who recognize you when you stop in.

Awesome staff! Love the iced black tie cold brew. Also scored a complimentary caramel latte that was someone else’s wrong order. Baristas were friendly and also had a great sense of humor .I asked what the «hummingbird bread» was & she told me it was real hummingbird… lol.

What this place is good for:
— catching up with a friend
— decent coffee
What it’s NOT good for
— studying, reading, etc. because this place is LOUD and everyone is talking.
— Following directions with your drink. I came here today at 2pm and asked for an unsweetened green tea latte with almond milk. My green tea latte was DEFINITELY extremely sweet and I KNOW they didn’t use almond milk. Thanks, I paid a premium for essentially nothing.

Had some time in between clients today thought I’d come over and relax and have something warm and enjoy the outside air service was great and fast and the cashier was very sweet and friendly

Been customer of peets for several years.
I had a complementary drink card giving to me. I don’t come to this peets often but I expect the same service everywhere I go. I gave the barista my order. After he captured my order. I gave him my complementary card and to my surprise i was charged $ 2.55 for God knows what. I was in such a rush that I left with out requesting an explanation of the charges. Im very disappointed, so disappointed that I’m taking my business elsewhere. Word of advice, don’t give out customers complementary cards if there are hidden costs associated with it. I try to give it no stars but Unilocal won’t let me…

Great place to work and meet up with friends, but the Internet connection here is incredibly slow!

Went in for my coffee today and the woman behind me was carrying her fluffy dog. Now, I’m a dog lover; have two actually. Her dog was definitely not a guide dog. She was carrying it!
While waiting for my coffee this woman was parading the dog around the store, by the food, and hanging out near the coffee pick up counter. I asked the woman behind the counter to ask her to put the dog outside since having the dog inside the store was against the law. She then turned to a guy behind her and he did nothing. Great! Well, you asked for it buddy. I approached the woman and told her that she needed to bring the dog outside, she’s breaking the law, and is being insensitive to people who have allergies. She just stood there and told me I could leave. Well fine then. I went back to the counter and approached the wuss that hadn’t done anything and told him he needed to tell the woman to put her dog outside, and if he doesn’t do anything then the store can be reported for violation of health code. He still didn’t do anything.
The woman did put her dog out, after she saw me go talk to the guy.
Again, I’m a dog lover, but dogs do not belong inside an establishment. Especially one that serves food.
Oh, and thanks so much Peet’s staff for being supportive and handling the situation. Guess you won’t actually do something until you get reported, someone gets sick, or someone has an allergic reaction.

Great coffee, great staff. BUT!
Every morning at 7:00 — 8:00 a very noisy, old bunch of loudmouths congregate in the center of the sitting area and klatch at 100 decibels, oblivious to the rest of the patrons trying to have an early morning respite.
This ignorant group of right-​wingers don’t belong here. They take over the place and ruin the mood.
Go to a sports bar if you want to guffaw for an hour in the most peaceful part of the day.

TL;DR? Great local Peet’s! Very spacious with free WIFI, awesome baristas and quality of drinks is consistently delicious. Located next to Pinkberry, Chipotle, and Whole Foods for all your food and shopping needs. ASK for a survey receipt or Check-​in w/​Yelp to get $ 1 OFF! It’s the only Peet’s around and I’m loving it amidst the Starbucks frenzy! Although I have been to many Peet’s around San Jose, this local one takes the cake! They were super friendly today and allowed me to use both of my surveys and I got $ 2 off :) Thanks. One time, someone had taken my drink (I’m sure by accident…) and they handed me a new drink with a recomp coupon. Even though the place gets busy, I’ve never encountered a mean-​spirited, grumpy employee. Drink quality here is consistent which is fabulous with aforementioned recommendations. Good for you, Peet’s!
