Great atmosphere. This place seems to get dinged a lot for the service. I dont really understand it, I’ve received great service every time I go. Usually pretty low key and a great neighborhood bar to catch the game at. The WIFE and I love the draft selection and wide variety of spirits.

I’ve been here before. It was great especially in the shadow of the restaurant that was before. Then I brought friends and it we closed. Fail.

My friend and I had dinner here recently one Sunday night. The place was not busy at all so we got a table right away. The waitress did come over right away and ask about drinks. She then took a bit to come back and take our order. I will say with such a slow night, the waitress definitely was not on her game. There were very long stretches of time when she would just disappear or be hanging out at the bar. Weird! Our food was very good though. We started with this weird veggie appetizer. It was zucchini and broccoli in a mayo sauce with bonito fish flakes on top. Quite strange but very tasty. Unexpected for sure. For entrees, I am the brisket and my friend had the tacos from the appetizer menu. The brisket was very flavorful with a tasty berry bbq sauce on top. Very tender, pulled apart easily. It came with vinegary coleslaw and pickles, yams and a corn bread muffin. The coleslaw and yams were very tasty. The corn bread had too much rosemary in it. My friend said the tacos were good but the side sauce was too spicy. So we may give this place another chance as they have lots of TVs to watch sports and they have lots of good drink options. I think they are still trying to work out the kinks though.

I kept hearing through friends that Over/Under had a fantastic whiskey selection. I was finally able to check this place out. At first glance, the places is visually appealing. Great rustic vibe, reclaimed wood, TVs to watch sports. I’d love our initial greeting was warm & fuzzy, but the gentleman at the host desk/stand barely lifted his head from the computer to give us a ‘hello’. There was a gentleman walking from behind the bar who then walked back behind the bar when we sat down. He gave us our menus, but(yet again) there was barely a hello. The gal behind the bar, their bartender, was about as monotone as it could get too; even after several attempts to strike up conversation. If there is anyone who should drive the vibe, it’s the bartender. I want to belly up to the bar and have fun, lively dialogue with bartenders. That’s the best part!!! It didn’t happen here at all. Our drinks were good, the food was ‘meh at best’. As we sat at the bar, we both kept saying the same things: The bar has excellent potential, but they are completely missing the mark on personality alone. Had there been any sort of fun, lively vibe by ANYONE working there, our experience would have been completely different. There are so many mediocre places I continue to return to based on the vibe and the personnel. There was nothing about Over/Under that will bring me back. It’s unfortunate because Willow Glen is starting to boom was fantastic restaurants.

If I were ranking over/under on the number of TV they have I would give them five starts. however, if you actually plan to drink beer and get served while there then they hardly deserve a single star. Staff is totally aloof and seemingly uninterested in the wellbeing of their patrons. Meh

Lackluster food served cold by over-worked wait staff. Avoid the overpriced cocktails, whose ice will have melted by the time they make it to your table. They allow children(which is odd for a sports bar) and smoking at the outside tables(which I’m pretty sure is illegal). This place will be out of business by April.

Let’s just start by saying, I should have known by how easy it was to find parking that I would leave here in a jiffy. Sat down, ordered a Bloody Mary: disgusting Next, I ordered the breakfast burrito: disgusting I asked for a glass of water, which came in a 4 oz mason jar, with someone else’s lipstick around the rim: disgusting. Who the hell owns this place? More importantly what the fuck were they thinking. Word of advice: hire more staff, hire a chef or consultant to figure your menu out and please, if you’re going to charge $ 10 for a Bloody Mary, please make sure it’s potable.

I loved the Hay Market, and Over Under is just as good. I came on a busy night with WG Wine Walk and the place was packed. The servers and bartender were great apologizing up front for the service. Regardless it was a fun happy atmosphere. I ordered the white trash fondue and loved it. Everything else looked great. I would love to come back with a crowd and order a bunch of dishes. Definitely will be back.

Arrived st 9:40 when their website, Unilocal and Facebook page says they open at 9. They where not open. Waited around and they finally opened at 10. Very annoying that the owners can’t get their act together and open on time.

Friendly host and bartender. Terrible food. Over priced everything. pretty sure hellen keller is back there working the kitchen. Chile verde burrito says it has cotija cheese, but all we noticed was the awesome YELLOW cheese. Yum…-.- If you want quality and bang for your buck stick to The Table up the street

We really wanted to like this place. We live within walking distance and were excited to finally have a fun, quite sports bar in Willow Glen. Extra sad. First the good. Poblano soup was actually pretty good, garden salad very straight forward, as per normal. But the ribs were tough, clearly cooked a long time ago and warmed up, served with bland boiled sweet potatoes, a dry muffin with brown sugar butter(not bad), and coleslaw, which was good. We were hungry still, so thought, street tacos, those should be good. Nope. Very dry, piles of cilantro and onion and I swear they served Frank’s Hot Sauce with these. These taco’s proved the commercial wrong, not even Frank’s Hot Sauce could help these things. Pinot noir, was delicious, but wow, the food, no Buena! Maybe this is just a drink place and they should stick with that.

Meh, I’ve experienced better really says it well. We left and as we walked home we saw a couple of guys with pizza and beer sitting outside Round Table. We wished we would have eaten there. We passed the little burger place. We wished we had eaten there. We passed Aqui’s Wished the same thing. We waited at the light at The Table and REALLY wished we had gotten a burger there(which is OUTSTANDING). As we crossed the street a lady walking in front of us had french fries from Jack in the Box and we wished we had eaten there. $ 45.00 out and so dissatisfied. Oh, and while I stood in line at OverUnder a lady was behind me. She asked me if this was my first time here. I said yes. She said hers too. I asked her what she thought. She scrunched up her face and shook her head from side to side like«yeah, ummmm… nooooo.» Precisely. We compared notes and felt exactly the same way. Better do some surveys Over/Under. Your waitress was a doll, the look is right and it all seems like it should be good, but nope. Save your money. Go to The Table or Jack in the Box.

It’s a neighborhood bar. It has drinks and really good food. TVs too. Oh, and pretty good service. That $ 9 hamburger? The most flavorful burger I’ve had in forever. With housemade bacon. Yeah. The brisket was also quite tasty, tender, and juicy but the flavor was derived from the ever-so-slighty spicy barbecue sauce. The dish was served with sweet potato slices(irregular cut?), a small rosemary cornbread(a little dry), and a killer coleslaw. The root beer float was huge, too huge to finish, and made with quality vanilla ice cream. I found the drink menu to be slightly overwhelming as they list the liquor types but not so much the cocktails. I was surprised by the quality of both dishes, so would like to try the other items, especially the Louisiana-style phở. There isn’t much by way of exterior signage, but Over/Under is located between the Comerica Bank on the corner and Edna Ray’s. Nice addition to Willow Glen.

First review I gave for this place was stellar– the drinks were great and the service was as well. We’ve been wanting to come back to try the food since it looked amazing, so we stopped in last night for a bite to eat… Ugh…not impressed. Ordered a glass of wine and a beer(cider) — took awhile to receive, and the cider was flat. Ordered food as soon as the drinks came and 30 minutes later, waitress came to tell us she was sorry about the wait, a round of drinks would be on her. So we order next round, but only got one– so we end up canceling the other. We ordered the Angus Brisket and the Street Tacos. Brisket was decent, a little spicy, with super dry corn bread(sad, because I love corn bread). Street tacos were awful! Chicken was dry and cut into oddly large pieces. Tacos were literally tortilla, chicken, and a extremely generous heap of cilantro. There was a small portion of dipping sauce on the side, but it was way too hot! Food took forever to come as well as 2nd comped drink. Still paid close to $ 50. Not impressed, and won’t be coming back– at least not for food.

Quaint bar in the midst of downtown Willow Glen. Water served in mason jars, and intensive list of alcohol. Service is friendly and prices are very reasonable.

I had probably the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had here. This is a really cool place. I’m told it’s new, but I don’t know how new. Probably very new as they still had a «new» banner up. My friend ordered the breakfast burger. It was a burger with egg and bacon. It looked pretty delicious as well. It has a super kick-back/hipster vibe, and the employees working were helpful and kind.

Willow Glen is in serious need of a cool, fun bar for hanging out after dinner. Since they have so many fun options for dinner, I’ve been waiting for a fun bar for afterwards! Sadly, Over/Under is not exactly what I was hoping for. The inside of the bar seems to be trying to hard to be trendy. While looking around at the décor, we couldn’t tell if it was trying to be a sports bar, a dive bar, a trendy bar, etc. There was one oversized sports photo on one wall, a huge canoe over the bar, and all liquor bottles displayed on country style shelving. If you’re looking for a normal drink(vodka/7-up or Tanqueray/Tonic), you will not find that here. While they make a lot of specialized drinks, and have unlimited quantities of unknown alcohols, they don’t have the name brands you might be wanting. While this works for some establishments, I feel like it fell short here. Especially because my husband ordered a gin/tonic and was given vodka/tonic with the explanation that it will taste the same. Seeing as how he had been drinking gin all night, we weren’t looking to mix alcohols, and would have appreciated being asked before it was switched.

This is a great rebranding of a neighborhood gem. Nice small plate selection, BBQ, burger, and other bar type food. Has NFLPASSTV. Had chili burger, bratwurst, and Caesar salad, all nicely prepared. Huge gin, vodka, bourbon and whisky selection. Sarah was a fabulous and fun waitress. Nice change for Willow Glen!

I really really wanted to like this restaurant. It’s convenient, it looked hip inside, and the menu was chalk full of tasty sounding dish’s. The good, that was easy, the waitress who served us was sweet, polite, and knowledgable about the menu. She was also attentive to our needs throughout or dinning experience. Now the bad, this is going to be a longer list. The menu was full of tasty sounding entries, like bbq spare ribs, white trash fondue, chili cheese burger, chicken and biscuits, I could on but you get the idea, down home tasty sounding grub. We had several entries, all of them were pretty bad, but the worst of the bunch was the classic chili cheese dog. Not sure how you mess one of these up, but over/under figured out the secret. The meat portion of the entrée«The Dog» was burnt, tuff and tasteless, the bread was plain and uninspired, and the chili was bland, semi sweet tasting, finished with mozzarella, making for a chewy tasteless mess. The rest of our dishes weren’t much better than our chili dog, overall, over/under is a serious disappointment.
