I felt very taken advantage of. First off, I can’t believe they charge travel time from their last call. I used them on my personal house because they had done work on my rentals and they were also recommended by my friend at NEST. The technician removed all the wires and then told me I had a bad circuit board. He went to his truck to see if he he could find such a «old part». He spent 22 minutes in his truck(at $ 116 hour labor rate) to locate it. I found it in 20 seconds on google. My cost would have been between $ 160 and $ 220.00. Even Amazon had it. The tech comes back and tells me it is $ 450.00 for parts. I ask why so much, and I ask about discounts because I use them for rental properties. I was told«Yes» they give discounts to repeat customers but I was not on the customer list. I asked the technician to have the owner,(The tech said Dannielle was the owner) call me. The technician went back to his van(still at $ 116 hour labor rate) and had a conversation with his office. The technician told me I wasn’t on the list, if I wanted to supply the parts, I was on my own and there was no negotiation. When an business owner won’t call a customer, something is wrong. At this point I had all the thermostat wires hanging loose on both ends so I felt muscled into having them do the work. No written quote provided, only a verbal quote of two hours including travel time to get the parts from Western Air Supply. I had them do the work. The technician returned with the new circuit board and carefully unpacked it then carefully repacked my old one in the anti-static bag and then put it back in the box. The technician installed my new board, reconnected the wires and checked out the system. The system now works fine for about $ 700.00 The technician then took his tools and my old board and put them in his truck. Wait! I just paid $ 450.00 for a new board, and you are walking away with the old one. I asked for the old one back and got it back. This felt like the end of a perfectly sleazy day. Needless to say I will not allow my property managers use their services again and I will share my experience with the National Association Of Residential Property Managers, Santa Clara County Chapter. My friend at NEST? Maybe he didn’t know how sleazy their customer service is. To sum it up: I felt taken advantage of by a sleazy company. I should have read their other Unilocal reviews before calling them.

I had them come out twice for two different problems with my AC. The office staff was efficient and courteous. The technician came right on time and was very knowledgable. He spent the time figuring out how to fix each problem economically and checked and rechecked his work before leaving. I am very happy with their work and the price was fair. I am glad I found their card in a very old folder. I will use them again and refer MA to friends.

After I posted my review, Russ, the owner contacted me. I gave him all the details and he visited my place. He agreed the work was not up to snuff and asked to send someone out to fix it, which he did. The new guy did a very nice job sealing the ducts and securing the ductwork off the ground in the crawlspace. They generously sealed all of our ducts, not just the ones they had worked on. Not only was the result good, but the technician did a nice job of taking care of our facility by protecting the surrounding areas with drop cloths, and took care of himself with proper equipment(respirator, protective coveralls, glasses) when in the crawlspace. So, the bottom line seems to be that they have the skills do to top-notch work. But if there are problems, you need to get hold of Russ directly. Although from now on, you might just hear from him first. 5 stars for making it right, against 1 star for the broken promises means 3 total.

These guys are not only super expensive but also completely unreliable and disrespectful of my time. I was reschedled at the last minute 3 different times. They also promised to get me a quote and I had to follow up with them before they finally sent it. The only reason I used them is because they are work on the particular Bosch tankless water heater I have. If it breaks down again, I will now replace this with a different brand just to avoid dealing with Mechanical Air in the future.

Dishonest guys, fooling around the customer. I got a quote for a sub-floor radiant heating system installation. However, they dragged their feet for over a month with no commitment on project schedule. Then, they got back to me saying that they had to cancel the project due to shortage of PEX pipe! It was a lame & clear lie since PEX pipe was readily available in so many local & internet shops. I had a couple of emails & phone calls but let it go since I wouldn’t trust the quality of work who lies to customer anyway. I guess they were waiting for a big project approval from somebody else, holding my project(smaller) on another hand, then they dropped mine as they got the other big one. They might have good skills & business scale but it should be a shame on them. Clearly one of the worst experiences I ever had.

This company charges too much. Their business is in the same building as ours. We contacted them for a service because our AC was not cooling down. They quoted $ 68.00 to check the unit and clean the filterand add freon if needed because there is no travel time involved. They said that some one will come in the next day. But no one showed up until a week later. The service person said that the the unit has an older filter that needs to be taken and washed. He said the unit needs to be modified to to put a pleated type filter that can be replaced every six months. Also he said the unit is low on filter. Since it was raining slightly, he cannot do it and he must do that on another day. A week later I got a quote for $ 534.00 to make a filter holder. Few days later I go an invoice for $ 86.00 for the service. I called them and they told me to pay the $ 68.00 and they will issue a credit for the balance. I asked them when are they going to put the freon and they said that I have to have another service call and it is $ 106.00/ hour and they charge a minimum 1 hour service and we pay for the freon at $ 15.60/ lb. I asked them why they didn’t do it on the day they came and she said that they couldn’t do it because it was raining. When I asked them why we have to pay again and she said the rain was not their fault. Then why did they come to service the unit when it was a rainy day. We have a very small unit and to replace the unit was about $ 600.00. These people charge too much. They have charged me more than quoted price on another occassion also. I have contacted them because they were next door to us. I would not reccomend them for any small jobs.

Awesome customer service, came to home on time, finished when they said they would and answered all my questions. Great people, very professional. Programmed my system for me and taught me how to use it. Even answered questions later! Would use this company again.

I had an a/c unit installed at my house by Mechanical Air Service a couple of years ago and everything worked pretty good until the heat wave last month when my unit quit cooling. Mechanical Air Service was nice in having a repairman come out to my house to re-charged the refrigerant in my unit and didn’t charge my anything for it. Not only that, he did it after hours. Great service.

I have used Mechanical Air Service for my home, my second home and also another home we remodeled. The staff has always been professional and courteous. All work was done on time and on budget. I own a small business and I have added Mechanical Air Service to my list of preferred referrals for my clients and customers. I would work with this company again.
