By far the worst place ever. Took the whole family out we took over 4 tables between my family. And I was never served my mariscos al molcahete and when I politely reminded hostess of my plate she ran back to get one then 5 minutes later proceeded to say they were bringing it, then it broke, then they were serving it in a bowl. Until finally after all my family members had finished eating my niece told hostess we all finished eating and my aunt has not received her plate. Hostess went back to kitchen and came out only to tell me they were canceling my order. And did not offer to serve me anything else. Would not recommend to anybody I know. Worse than most fast food service. if I was able to post without a star I would have they do not deserve a star.

Currently my favorite cheap mexican restaurant in San Jose. They’re taqueria, mariscos, and torta offerings are very, very good and I say that as someone with A LOT of experience tasting mexican food throughout north/south california and even in other states(Protip: mexican in other states sucks). Sorry, haven’t had it in mexico, but that’s next on the list. Anyway, if you order tacos it is 100000% essential that you order the handmade fresh tortillas. It’s slightly more expensive, but its 9 billion percent worth it. The difference fresh masa makes, pressed and hot from the griddle, is tremendous. There’s only a few other places I know that do fresh tortillas, and they’re all small street taco stands. Most taquerias and street taqueros use premade tortillas, which is okay, but doing it fresh elevates the whole meat delivery package that gets shipped express into your flavor hole. The meats and taco sizes are generous, especially given the prices. It’s about $ 2 a taco, but these are the larger taco size tortillas, not the taquito size ones that a lot of cheap places give out. The fillings aren’t sparse – the cooks do a fine job lavishing the tortilla with meat. The marinades are similarly generous, with flavor permeating each meat. Al pastor is my go-to, and this place does it nicely. Not as sweet as my top al pastors(honors go to La Estrella in LA), but still nice, porky, spiced pieces. The carne asada is nicely done as well, juicy meat with citrus flavor. The tortas are supremely well done and they don’t have to be – it’s a taqueria place – but you won’t find me complaining. Their crispy sandwich rolls get stacked full with your choice of meat, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and more(my memory escapes me). I would even say that the tortas here are better than most of the tortas I’ve had in norcal. If you want to get full and eat well, you can’t go wrong ordering one of their tortas. I’m almost craving one right now. The mariscos – man, I’m happy. I used to have a favorite place for ceviche off of capitol expressway – pretty much the only place I liked in San Jose. Then guess what happens? THEPLACEBURNEDDOWN. :””””’(what a sad sad day. Back on topic, I’ve finally found a place with great ceviche at great prices. Their ceviche mixta tostada is everything I want in a mixta tostada – tender octopus, chunks of fish, big slices of avocado, fresh shrimp, all permeated by the tartness of lemon and lime juice. Slap some ketchup, salt, and tapatio on there and you’ve got yourself a flavor kick to the balls. Oh by the way, they have 6 oysters for $ 6 – effecively $ 1 oysters. And their micheladas and other cocktails looks skillfully executed. Cheap, bright, and tasty – it’s what I’ve been dreaming of.

Small tables but really delicious food. The few times we’ve been here everything has been really good and the customer service has been great. The waitresses are always smiling an patient like it should be everywhere. You should try their super micheladas they are the beat I’ve yried. If you like micheladas you will like this and there really isn’t need of ordering a big meal.

Love this place! We walked by one day(we live locally) and tried it because of the pictures of the Micheladas on the building– they were even more delicious than they looked! My husband’s favorite is the Camarones a la Diabla– says it’s like a rich, really spicy mole sauce and the best version he’s ever had. My favorite is the burrito al pastor. Super friendly and fast service, too.

NOTE: Do not buy the«$ 15 for $ 30» coupon that Unilocal is offering. The folks at La Ceiba did not ask Unilocal to put this coupon up, so they currently have no deal with Unilocal to get any of this money, and therefore are not accepting the coupon. That aside, the handmade tacos are a sure winner, particularly if you choose al pastor, which is the best al pastor i’ve had.

Another mediocre Mexican dining experience. Why do the Taco Trucks have better food than most brick and mortar Mexican places? The tacos and burritos were dry and uninteresting. Chips and salsa was excellent though.

This place is a hidden gem. I miss the old Metro Balderas here but it looks like they moved to a newer locale to supplement their other spaces and trucks. The Seafood tostada and the buche tacos with handmade tortillas are so good. The owners are super nice to boot. I hope they maintain as i plan on coming back…

Parking is a little difficult at times because it is on a main street. The Owners Are Always Friendly And Happy To See you. Cold drink always quick to be served and the staff is eager to please. No rushing you out and attentive.
