hella all hidden up in the Evergreen area Mexican Restaurant! very low key kinda spot with pleanty of parking around staff is nice and polite. they have Happy Hour EVERYDAY til 6P spacious dining area typical menu selection one evening we decided to try this place out. it’s a clean place that doesn’t look like your typical taqueria or mexican restaurant, tho. We ordered a burrito and fish tacos special AND a couple drinks… nothing crazy, Sangria and Chavela but its definitely a plus with your meal. The food was pretty good! The drinks were cool and sizeable… prices were better than expected. Definitely a ‘come back here’ place for Me. only thing that was very noticable(or not noticable) was that this place definitely NEEDS a TV in house, would help with the low key borderline dullness of the place haha

I’m not quite sure why they only have 3 stars but I think they have amazing food! Also, the service here is great. Very friendly and attentive. Best carne asada fries in town!

Total disappointment! Should have listened to my fellow Unilocalers! The rice was really good, until I found a hair in it. The rest of the food was bland, no flavor/seasoning. And they gave my friends plate to someone else. After 20 min. we were wondering why I got my food and she didn’t. The employees were really friendly and helpful. It was the manager Sherry that was rude and does not know how to do her job. I showed them the hair in my food and the manager was like, oh well sorry. And she didn’t even say anything about forgetting to give my friend her food. First and last time I ever go to this spot!

This establishment sucks I placed a to go order and waited for over 40min inside the restaurant. Worst $ 50 I ever spent :(I’ve had better experiences in the slums of Tijuana and Mexico City than in this place. Not one smile the staff almost seemed angry I was there. Don’t recommend this place people.

Good food here, staff is friendly, only issue is the food is a little pricey sometimes. Located right in the square next to a grocery store and tea place for drinks :)

2 dollars extra for sour cream 2.20 extra for rice(half of a plate) 2.20 extra for beans(half of a plate why do we need so freakin much) 1.08 extra for chips 2.49 extra for a drink 7.99 for the special chipotle enchiladas mind you they look nothing like the ones displayed even though the lady clarified that they were the same. This place has been through some changes but they need to pull it together. Its not worth $ 20 after tip

Pretty decent burritos, and a much needed Mexican joint in Evergreen. I almost always get a basic burrito with Rice, Beans, and Cheese(classic«RBC»), which is under $ 5. They’re usually very good, although for a while they had some new employees and were a little hit or miss on it(low rice/beans ratio). My family enjoys the regular and super burritos with chicken. Fairly basic Mexican food, but definitely worth going to, if you live in the area.

Good food. We ordered the taco platter, flautas, super veg burrito, quesadilla, horchata, and Mexican coke. The refried beans were delicious. We went as a party of 4 on a Thursday night. Considering it was a Thursday I guess you can say there were enough people to pay the bills. In the Evergreen area, it’s better than Iguanas but not Mexico Lindo though it is less pricey than Mexico Lindo. The décor looks ok for a Mexican restaurant. They charged us for but forgot to make our made to order Guac. So my boyfriend went the next day and got a free quesadilla :) we’ll probably give it another shot soon. Just don’t like going to Mexico Lindo anymore because the hostess/waitresses are rude.

Poor customer service. When you walk in, you are not greeted and informed that you(1) order and pay at the counter,(2) you are given a number to place on your table, then(3) your food is brought out to you. I wanted to like this place because it is in a very nice area that I frequent, but they gave me more than enough reason to take my business elsewhere for Mexican food. Once seated, my party of four found a place to sit with our number on the table. Our food was brought out by the waitress who showed no emotion and did not respond to our«Thank you’s.» We felt like we were an inconvenience to her. We needed extra napkins and more silverware, but were never checked on(as a matter of fact, it felt like we were the only people in the entire restaurant because the staff were nowhere to be found). We were left all alone the entire time we ate, so when we were finished, we left the restaurant feeling regretful. I guess they don’t care after they get your money! It was like eating in a foodcourt. I expected much better service than this :-(

I used to frequent this restaurant often since I work in the plaza. The staff are friendly with me, but that might be because I came in so often. But as of late, they changed their staff and I don’t see many familiar faces working anymore. The food is good but I’m sad to say chips and salsa are $ 1 when they used to be free. I looooove their al pastor though! Even if it takes a while for it to come out. It’s worth the wait when they load up the meat on my tacos. But their service varies from great to mediocre, like any other restaurant.

The food is decent, pretty much your Americanized Mexican food. I haven’t tried everything but so far so good. This place has great potential, it’s the only major restaurant in the square and the interior has these really cool Day of the Dead skeleton dolls(I’m a sucker for a skeleton in a fancy gown). The down side(hence the –2 stars) is that from the minute you walk in you are greeted with the same enthusiasm as the skeletons. I really don’t mean to be an inconvenience to the waitress, I’m just hungry and the sushi joint across the street is closed. After she grudgingly takes my order, I have a good 30 – 40 minute wait to think back on the errors of my ways and how rude it was for me to just barge in here unannounced, expecting them to stop what they’re doing and serve me. The skeleton in the tuxedo agreed and stared at me judgmentally with his little mini sombrero. I’ve eaten here twice so far and I still feel like I should apologize to them for the bother. I’ll come back again though because I like the food and I like little sombreros.

Good place to stop in and have a bite. The service is pretty good too. They did Slip up with my order but the manager was so apologetic and made sure we were taken care of. I come in every now and then and the food always tastes great. If your coming in for breakfast make sure u get the meat lovers omelet.

Very slow service, even when the place is empty. We order the chicken nachos, enchiladas and fajitas. Bad part was the wait for the food. And I never got the tortillas for the fajitas, the food was cold by the time it came out. The good note they are pet friendly, we sat outside with our dog.

Get rid of the lady cook with the piss poor attitude! I will never set foot in Las Catrina’s until they hire a new cook. Sorry but her stinky attitude is hilarious, ridiculous and just plain annoying! I came in for lunch not attitude, dude! They’ve hired a new cook and she can cook… we’re back!!!

Not my first visit as I am a customer from the neighborhood. All my other visits have been okay. Not amazing or great, just okay. I don’t mind if you’re not an awesome greeter, but I’m sure you can say something a little more welcoming than«Are you ready?» as if I was being a nuisance, like I haven’t been waiting at the register for 5 whole minutes after the cook told you multiple times that I, a paying customer, was waiting on you. Anyway, they had a «Special» on their menu for flautas for $ 8.99. I put in my order and waited 35 minutes for these special flautas and they brought me taquitos(haha). The waitress insisted they were flautas TWICE. I didn’t argue, but I knew the difference. Flautas = Flour tortilla Taquitos = Corn tortilla The taquitos were very dry and bland and not worth $ 8.99. Have some integrity if you mess up on an order, don’t lie. Have the decency to put in the correct order for your customer and don’t insist on serving something you know isn’t right. Your staff represents your business, and every experience at your establishment reflects on you. I won’t be coming back, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you went out of business.

Have come here on and off over the years, their food is always been good. I really enjoy their enchiladas. There enchilada red sauce is delicious. Very flavorful. The food I feel like it’s overpriced and that is what keeps us from coming here more often.

Let me preface this by saying that I am Mexican. My family cooks Mexican food all the time. I know good Mexican food. This place is NOT good Mexican food. The staff are very unfriendly. I was taking a while to order, and the cashier clearly showed no patience. My sister asked what was in a certain dish, and the same cashier made a face and acted irritated. The prices are ridiculous. $ 11 for a tamale and SMALL enchilada, with rice and beans is pretty sad. The food tastes horrendous. I literally saw the cook USINGTHEMICROWAVE on my rice and beans!!! The tamale tasted weird; the ingredients inside it were off and it wasn’t fully cooked. My enchilada was also not fully cooked. The rice was super dry without flavor and the beans were a watery mess. If you’ve been to the bad Mexican restaurant that’s inside Disneyworld or a Vegas casino, this place is WORSE. Immediately on the drive home I could taste a strong, disgusting flavor still in my mouth and on my tongue. I would never come here again. I wouldn’t recommend this place even to someone I don’t like. AVOIDATALLCOSTS!

This review is overdue. We love this place. 1. Menudo! !! It’s the best in town. I didn’t expect it from here but I tried almOst all the places in south san jose(I haven’t tried east san jose) but this is the best in the area. 2. Mojado machacas-:wet burrito. My husband gets this ! Its eggs with shredded beef inside a burrito and over the top its a really good red sauce with cheese. You can get any kind of burrito(carne Asada, chicken, etc) but we id usually come around 1130 so it’s between lunch and breakfast. 3. Burritos are $ 5.99! Cheap. Especially in this area. 4. Salsas– they have a salsa area where you can taste all the fresh sauces. 5. Clean! Big place and not crowded. One thing i was disappointed about though is that they now charge for .99 chips. They didn’t use to :(oh well… the food is still good.

Food was just okay, but the staff was terrible. We ordered churros and never got them. When we realized we went back and asked the lady at the register argued that she gave them to us. 0_o I have never had that happen before. They charged us for chips and all together not a great experience. Nickle and dimed for mediocre food. Keep the churros we won’t be going back.
