Prepare to be confused. For starters: two restaurants with the same address. Different menus, same staff. On the positive side: a wide variety of food choices. But, sadly, the negatives predominate. Appearance of the place is simply unappealing. It’s unclear how it even passes a building inspection. Not that it isn’t clean; but take the stairs to the bathrooms, for instance. Just don’t even think about taking anyone with a disability. Or anybody who wants to avoid becoming disabled.

I secretly don’t want anyone to know about this place so I can come here and not worry about it being to busy!!! Great authentic food, everything we had was delicious. Bistec Steak, chicken nachos, super tacos and don’t forget the seafood soup. Yum yum yum. I will be back.

What a great find! We went here today after reading the reviews on Unilocal and we will be back! The food is fabulous and the presentation is beautiful. My husband had the Oysters and the plate looked stunning. All the seafood was very fresh. I have a feeling this is going to become one of our regular go to places.

Not in the best location. Not your typical americanized-mex restaurant. I love the fried tilapia and the seafood soup. I ate there one time so far and will go back again when I crave for Tilapia again. The service when I was there was a little slow. Maybe because there was only 1 lady waiting tables at the time.

Great food! And very accommodating for parties. The price is right. And you can do buffet style for large parties.

Don’t judge by location or by the Super 8 sign. Food was excellent and authentic. Service was SUPER slow but they have a full bar and my michelada was tasty and BIG.

Don’t let the façade or the motel 8 deter you. This place is good. Possibly the best margarita I have ever had. Chips and salsa are top notch too. Complimentary soup was good. Entrees we had we were good, but everything already mentioned was better.

Awful service, took 20 minutes just for a glass of water and they charged us $ 8. for chips even though our food bill was over $ 125. The food took forever to come out. The place smells bad and the ceiling is falling in. The soap in the bathroom was watered down, thats a bad sign! Will not be back and cannot recommend. Steer clear of this place!

Food was fair, but service was poor and restaurant is run down and smells bad. Would have given two stars but they charged for extra chips. Not going back.

Just walked out of this restaurant because I spent 10 mins waiting for a menu or any kind of acknowledgement. I was greeted when I came in but nothing after I sat down. 1 server during weekday lunch hours in downtown area, that should say a lot. I’ve never just stood up and left a restaurant but this seemed a good occasion for my first time as well as my first Unilocal post.

This place exceeded my expectations! Friendly service and casual laid back atmosphere. I feel like I’m in Mexico:) They serve you a cup of complimentary soup with your chips and fantastic salsa. The soup was so good I knew I was in for a treat. I ordered the 2 for 1 Monday special which was spicy shrimp and chicken. The flavors were really developed. Better than any Mexican I’ve had in the Bay Area, especially compared to the expensive places. I highly recommend this spot!

Love this place, Mexican food with a soul! Just as good as Eating out in Mexico, if your looking for authentic Mexican food you need to check this place out. It’s not glamorous; doesn’t need to be with food this delicious! Our server was very attentive and friendly, came here on a Monday and ordered their 2 for 1 special, highly recommend any of their soups and spicy shrimp! Best Mexican food in the Bay

The seafood here is amazing! Very authentic. I ordered the Caldo de Camaron and it tastes just like my mom’s. The broth had a lot of flavor and they weren’t stingy with the shrimp! The chips and salsa are also very good! The salsa was sooo good! It was really addicting! My boyfriend ordered a super burrito and it was just as delicious. I definitely want to come back again! It’s one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve eaten at.

I’m very strict when it comes to Mexican food especially Mexican sea food. No more disappointment after finally trying Casa Ochoa, the sea food it’s top of the line in San Jose way better than many other such as: Mariscos San Juan. Incredible flavors & decent Cost. «you’ll thank me later »

This place is an authentic really good Mexican food, specially seafood. Definitely the best around the area. Delicious, good and polite service. I’m actually Mexican so I know that this is really authentic. For sure we’ll be back soon. Este restaurant es buenisimo! Especialmente los mariscos son deliciosos. De hecho, el cocinero es de Mazatlan, así que cocina tal como se hace en México. Buenazo! Totalmente recomendable.

Super tasty Mexican food! Located inside Motel 8, it doesn’t look fancy from the outside. To be honest, I was a little suprised by the high quality of their food. We ordered fajitas mixtas and super taco, both were perfectly seasoned and flavorful. It wasn’t that busy on a weekday night, but still the service was kinda slow. The waitresswe had was upbeat and sweet, it’s just that they are shorthanded. Price on the high side for a typical Mexican food joint. With a voucher, it’s a pretty good deal overall.

For weeks I’ve been consistently shutting my boyfriend down when he’s suggested giving this place another shot(he’s been bugging me since they plastered the outside of their restaurant with new posters, claiming that they«could have changed!!»). I just couldn’t shed the visions of Nightmare Kitchen and stale chips, which is what our last experience was like… but I mean, it’s attached to a Motel 8, right? I finally gave in the other day, and I was really really surprised. They’ve stepped their game up and the food was actually good! They served us a Styrofoam cup of this spicy seafood soup to start, and it was something I would come back and order specifically. What’s probably the best is that they make their own chips, and the salsa is on point(with chunks of avocado, yum). Just a warning — you’re not going to this place to have a luxurious meal. Like I said, I got a styrofoam cup and plastic utensils. But, the staff is really friendly and make you feel like you’re entering their home for a meal. The only things I can think that they need to work on are their cocktails. My margarita was painfully sweet. Instead of being comprised mostly of supermarket juice, juicing fresh fruit or creating their own lime mixes would be a great improvement, and probably increase traffic. …so maybe, give them another shot?
