So they messed up my order and it’s totally fine. I asked for just the Chicken Katsu (meat only). And they gave me Chicken Katsu with rice and macaroni. But the thing that pisses me off is that they gave me the same Chicken Katsu they made for me about 30 minutes ago. The line was long and it was understandable. But I didn’t enjoy half of my Chicken Katsu cold and soggy and the other half hot and crunchy. And I also didn’t enjoy that they left some of the macaroni salad bits in there. I love the food, I’ll always love the food there. But I had high standards for this joint.

They have the beat chicken Katsu in my opinion. The place is kind of small, but their food are delicious. Their shaved ice are also popular specially when it’s hot outside. My bf visited me for 3 days and this is all he wants to eat every day. He said that whats a better way to get loyal customers than to have good food and very caring staff. The staff are also very nice and they have the best customer service.

I was in the same plaza to run an errand, and decided to give this place a try. OMG, the mac salad is the best I’ve ever had. I got the bbq meat combo, which came with rice and mac salad. It included short ribs, grilled chicken, and grilled beef. Everything was super juicy and flavorful. I was definitely pleasantly surprised. Will visit again for sure :)

Better than expected– I’ve had hit or miss experiences with Triple D restaurants, but this one had solid ono eats and quick service. There’s ample room to dine in, but we grabbed our meal to go.
GARLIC SHRIMP PLATE: Good sized portion of shrimp, garlic sauce was good, bed of cabbage kept it light. Comes with two scoops of rice, one of mac salad.
FRIED MAHI MAHI PLATE: Four fresh filets, served with tartar sauce and above sides. Fish was solid, not overly battered, not bland as elsewhere. This disappeared fast.
AHI POKEY SPECIAL: Advertised on the wall, doesn’t seem to be a permanent menu item. Made fresh with good portion of fish for the price, flavor is a little light since it doesn’t have time to marinate, but SO fresh and tasty.
SPAM MUSUBI: Good, not as heavy as other versions, perfect amount of sauce, would try the katsu version on another visit.
Service was quick, location is open late (10pm?), one of the better places in this area given the limited non-​Vietnamese options.

This place I tell you. Tasty food, huge portions and super friendly staff. Especially the guy in the mornings. Always has a smile on his face and he even gave my daughter a free shaved ice. Me and my lady always go for the Saimin noodles and spam & rice. I call it «the perfect breakfast». The playlist can differ at times. There’s times where I felt like I was in Hawaii (Hawaiian music) and other times when I just felt like getting freaky with my lady (Pretty Rick, Plies & T-​Pain). They can play any type of music and I’d be happy to eat here any day.

This is a pretty good local spot with large portions that are inexpensive. This place is always busy when I go, but so worth the wait. My fave thing to order here is the khalua pork and chicken Katsu combo. They have some of the best Mac salad I’ve ever tried. Definitely a must try. Service could be a hit or miss, but that could be because of how busy they get.

Huge portions. I could barely finish one plate. I got the half BBQ chicken and half chicken katsu plate. The BBQ chicken was cooked well and pretty flavorful, but tasted pretty similar to most other Hawaiian places. The katsu was super crispy and the sauce was yum, but the breading was a bit too thick and distracted from the actual chicken. The mac salad was average and the rice was fine as well. Also, the plates are served with a salad that tastes like it’s been dressed with store-​bought Italian dressing.
Service was friendly and I’ll probably come back if I ever want an obscenely large portion of Hawaiian BBQ.

I’m a regular here, I love the atmosphere, music is on point, and the workers their treat you great! Oh and the food is always BOMB!

HOLYYYY PORTIONS! When people said this place serves huge portions, this place serves hug portions. I should have definitely gotten a mini. I ordered the «two different meat combination» and ate in. The plate came out and it was bigger than my head! I could only eat so much of my meal that when I went to put the left overs in a to-​go container, I could barely close the box with the mountain of chicken Katsu that was inside. The bbq chicken was very nice and tender. The Mac salad was nothing to write home about. The quality of the food is on par with the Hawaiian places in the area.
5 stars goes to the hospitality of the man working the register/​front (not sure if he’s the owner but he was nice).
For a college kid, this is a must visit with the value/​bang for your buck: D

They serve huuuge portions! I ordered a mini plate but my food still looked as big as the regular/​large plates.
I got chicken katsu, boyfriend ordered a Loco moco, and we shared an order of spam musubi. The spam musubi was filled with soooo much rice. No bueno for me.
I ordered my katsu with a side of fries. The fries were nice and crispy the way I like. That night, they seemed to have forgotten my order. We got the other two dishes. About 3 – 4 orders after mine were done before mine. I thought hmm maybe the katsu is taking longer, but I saw 2 orders with katsu after me. When I reminded them about my order, they didn’t even apologize or anything.
They get the four stars for the quality of the food.

If you’re craving something fattening and filling, this is the best place to go to. The portions are huge and the macaroni salad is to die for! I really crave for this once in a while and since I live near by, I can just come here. Parking is my only issue with this place, some of the parking spaces are so cramped

Food is decent but for $ 10 you get a lot of food. Mix plate has 3 type of meat with rice and mac and salad. You can feed 2 asian people with this order!

¹⁰⁄₁₀ stars is what this restaurant is suppose to have ! I have tried almost the whole Menu here. My bf and I use to go to the L&L (all locations) and None was close to the way Hawaiian Dine in does it ! This place is just a special place to eat and be at. It Can get a line out the door sometimes but, don’t worry because the Chef (owner of the place) is in the Kitchen saying hi to everyone that walks in and he makes sure your food is cooked right ! If you ever get lost in their Menu, just pick one that you are craving the most (even if you’ve never tried it) I guarantee you will get your money’s worth. The portions are huge ! It does not disappoint. Items I’ve tried and were all delicious !

When you walk in it looks small but it’s actually pretty spacious when you’re sitting down eating. It feels like home every time. The owner Said their food is low sodium food ! And that is by far the best thing. I want to continue going to this place since My bf and I are moving to Santa Clara it would be a drive just to eat here but I know I’ll make that drive anyway! Lol
100% Recommended !!! A MUST TRY RESTAURANT! And don’t hesitate to DINE IN because their music is Always on point. ;D

4÷1÷16: Just a nice homey Hawaiian fast food place to eat at. Better alternative to L&L’s, with more variety of stuff, as well as some Korean stuff (like bimbibap) mixed in. I like it because the owner and staff are nice, and there’s always a good crowd of neighborhood folks here. Not your usual upper-​end Silicon Valley tree huggers, but a good mix of kids and workers. Just feels right here. The food ain’t spectacular, but it’s solid and overall better than other competitors. I like it here.
So what did I have today…

2. BBQ Mix Plate $ 10.95 «teriyaki steak, short ribs, and chicken»: Rice was cooked well – better than other Hawaiian fast food places which tend to make the rice mushy. Teriyaki steak is more like chopped beef, almost Korean style – tastes like you’d expect. Short ribs are relatively good. Nothing extraordinary, but not overly dry and tasty. Chicken was okay – could use more char. A little over-​marinated too. Overall decent. ⁶⁄₁₀
3. Spam Saimin $ 6.95: Basically restaurant-​cooked ramen with sliced spam mixed in. They added some egg too. Tastes like your standard saimin. ⁵⁄₁₀
So, again, food isn’t anything too special, but is a bit better than a lot of their competitors.

Super friendly service and very good food. Can not beat the price for the amount of food you get. The sticky rice is very good and the teriyaki steak is some on the best I have had In my opinion. Just look at the picture. Try it out. You will not be disappointed.

Hesitantly giving 5 stars only because my BF wishes they gave more KALBI!!! BUT… For the price and quality, it’s definitely a 5. Honestly have nothing to complain about… The service is awesome. The portions are awesome. And The prices are awesome. I’ve never been to Hawaii to compare. But I know good food in general… and dammit, it’s good. 5 stars for having (and not being able to even think of any) no complaints.

This place definitely deserves a review update from me! This has become my Hawaiian go to spot over the years! It’s close to home and I usually call ahead for my order! They’ve never gotten my order wrong *knocks on wood*, so I usually come here on my way home from work!
My favorite to order is the katsu and kalua pork! It’s a plus that they have half plates available because their portions are very generous! Their mac salad is pretty good also!

Ok for real, the food here is actually decent, but it is a bit on the pricey end for fast food, then again I think they give a pretty generous portion of food…
I usually order a small size of the combo chicken katsu, even with that size it’s still a lot of food… I love chicken so that’s why I always order this haha…
They have a variety of Hawaiian Fruit Punch to choose from… last time I was here I got the Lilikoi iced tea drink… refreshing…
Just last weekend was the first time I got to order malasadas (they’re usually out/​not in whenever I try to order them)…it’s $ 9.95 for one order (8 malasadas)…they’re so good when it’s newly cooked… it’d be 10x more awesome if we could order them with filling just like they do at Leonard’s…but it tastes just as good plain and sugary :)

I hate the L&L bbqs near us now because of crappy service, overly fatty meats, and ridiculous wait. My husband and I were craving hawaiian bbq today and I suggested we try Hawaiian Drive Inn and I’m very glad I did. This place is a hidden gem! The food was exactly what you’d expect it to taste like and absolutely delicious. The short ribs were cooked perfectly and the meat was tender. The mac salad was also delicious! This is our new go to place for hawaiian bbq.
