Jones Custom Cabinets

I was shopping around for a company that would reface my old, worn out kitchen cabinets and was not having a lot of luck. I visited Unilocal and saw Rick’s raving reviews and gave him a call. From the first time I met Rick I knew he was the guy! He showed up promptly for the consultation and he brought all of his brochures, samples, binder of photos (before & after) and a great big smile. I am a huge advocate of customer service, and if I don’t get it, you won’t get hired! Needless to say, my husband and I hired him on the spot and he began the building of our cabinets and starting measuring for the reface.
My cabinets before were maple with a white-​washed varnish; they were extremely worn out and peeling. I wanted Cherry hardwood and soft-​close cabinets and drawers. I personally didn’t think that it was at all possible for them to be refaced … I thought that I was going to have to gut the entire kitchen and start over. Rick assured me that he could do it and he really met my expectations and then some.
Rick is an absolute perfectionist and he also has vision. He went above and beyond what I wanted and turned my kitchen into a showcase; no one can even tell that the cabinets were refaced. They look like cherry wood, through and through. They are beautiful!
Rick’s service was always done with a smile and he was very prompt in getting back to me with emails and calls. I was in very competent and good hands. He and his crew were always on time and they were very professional throughout the entire remodel. I am very, very happy with the results and I highly recommend him for a cabinet remodel and reface. Thank you Rick for a job well done!

I posted a review on Rick’s brother’s Unilocal posting as well since Rick and Dave both worked on my kitchen remodel. My wife and I decided to remodel our old, outdated kitchen. We checked out pretty much every local wholesale and retail business (Home depot, Deco, Lowes, etc) and were left with a kitchen that either busted our budget (Lowes quoted us around $ 19,000) or a cheaper kitchen that only allowed for cookie cutter options with inferior wood (Deco, wholesale kitchen warehouses, etc). Finally, at my wits end I decided to check out Craigslist adds and came across these two brothers. I called them up, somewhat cautiously since it was a Craigslist posting. Upon meeting them in person however, I was impressed by Dave and Rick at their confidence level and the experience they demonstrated just through the initial consultation. They said they could custom build my kitchen and still come within my budget.
Boy did they ever! I got everything I wanted in my kitchen, and they did it with such professionalism and got everything done within a reasonable time. The price was half Lowes/​Home Depot but the quality was much more superior than the wholesale businesses with cheap quality wood. Plus, the kitchen was CUSTOM BUILT to my exact specifications (Rick designed my cabinets specifically for my space). You can see my kitchen if you look in the photos Rick has posted on the Unilocal review. It’s the one with the pullouts underneath the sink.
What I like about these guys is they’re passionate about their work. This is something they appear to enjoy doing and it shows in the end product.
All in all, great experience and would highly recommend! It has been six months since my kitchen installation from Dave and Rick and have NO PROBLEMS! I posted pictures of before and after photos of my kitchen on the business’ page for those who are curious what the workmanship looks like in the Unilocal review for David’s business [David does a general handyman service and Rick builds custom kitchens].

Rick and Dave (his brother) just remodeled my kitchen. Completely gutted, replaced sub floor, sheet rock, removed fluorescent lights and installed can lighting, reformatted the lay out, etc. They did an excellent job, I couldn’t be happier. I plan on having my bathrooms re-​done next and will definitely have Rick and Dave do those jobs as well. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!

Rick and his bro’ did a very nice bathroom tile job. His estimate was reasonable and work was timely.
But the one thing that stood out about Rick was when on a Saturday night there was water leaking near the newly tiled bathroom. Rick didn’t think he caused the problem, but there he was bright and shiny on a SUNDAY morning assessing the situation. Of course, he was right. The leak was completely unrelated to his work. How many contractors will pay a Sunday visit?
I highly recommend Rick for his integrity and professionalism.
It was a pleasure working with him.

Two Brother team of handymen. Excellent service; I don’t know why they don’t have more reviews.
Anyway, we had cranky window cranks along with a host of other doo-​dads to take care of, and Rick came by and fixed everything. Bathroom fans, check. Frame attic access point, check. Remove/​Fix stripped screw in front door, check! The list goes on…
The most impressive part was getting the correct window cranks for our casement windows. They are not available locally, so Rick went online and hunted down the correct units, and came by and installed them. If you have ever seen casement windows, the mechanism is a bear to deal with – I looked at it and turned around. That’s why Rick does what he does!
I would not hesitate to call them again. They perform careful work and make sure things are done right… not necessarily just done, which many «professionals» may do…

Rick and David are awesome. Based on another review here, I decided to give them a call along with a few other handyman services. They were able to come out and look at the projects quickly. They gave me a detailed line item quote (as opposed to the off-​the-​cuff quotes that the others gave), and were the most competitive price.
The work was absolutely top notch. Everything they worked on, they made sure to do right. They were also super responsive when I had questions or changes to my initial requests.
The jobs they have done for me so far:
— Installed 2 new bathroom exhaust fans (where none had existed), including wiring and new timed switches
— Installed a weatherproof outdoor outlet on my back patio
— Removed old, rotting wooden siding from my house. Replaced it with fiber cement siding that will last a lifetime. They added some extra trim around the garage door, and painted the whole project. My house looks brand new, talk about raising curb appeal!
— While working on the siding, they discovered a broken pipe that had been making my kitchen smell for months. They fixed it, no more smell!
— While they were out working, my dishwasher broke (unrelated to their work). They fixed it. Works great again!
— Repaired and re-​mortared a brick retaining wall in front of my house.
As you can see, they can do anything. I am busy compiling a wish list to have them fix up the rest of my house. :)
