Well, turns out Mr. Minh sold his salon to a woman named Sophea. Ok… so, I need to get my hair done and I show up not knowing there is a new owner. I decide to go for it and the results are more amazing than I’ve ever had!!! The prices here are reasonable and the work they do is superior!!! If you have damage from chemical processes… Go see her! My hair looks so much healthier than it ever did before! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Just to put this review in perspective, I am very picky when it comes to my hair and have gone through about 4 – 5 barbers in San Jose looking for «the one». I drove about 20 minutes to get here which is a stretch personally, but I think I found «the one».
I asked for a trim, shorter on the sides and length on top for styling. Hoang pretty much guessed it before I could explain and off we go. Very methodical and efficient haircut. I must have been done in 10 minutes and feel I had the best cut I have ever had. Felt very comfortable throughout the process, no pain, no problem. I will come back for my «more stylish» haircut as Hoang puts it. Thank you!!!

Go here if you’re a dude. They straight razor those little hairs off your neck, eyebrows, ears, and it’s such a great bargain at $ 10! Ask for the bald guy, he’s the most thorough!

I don’t have a particular place to get a haircut, but when I am on Tully and in need of a haircut, I come here.
The stylists are always so nice — and I am lucky that I always get the same guy. He is hip so he knows how to style my hair. I’m pretty easy so I just tell him to cut it and make me look like a new person again.
I recommend getting your hair washed after your haircut — and they will even give you a good massage to go along with it. They even massage part of my back and I literally almost fell asleep. zzzzzzzzzz That’s how relaxed I was.
I’m sure they have a complete salon service, but since I’m a basic guy with not much «fu-​fu» trimmings other than a haircut, I did not take advantage of their other full service. However, from what my friends have said especially from the women point of view, they do awesome hair style and make-​up especially for weddings and for special events.
PS — one best part here is that they don’t rush you and they take their time!

On Friday, May 3^rd, I was in the area when I decided to treat myself to a last minute waxing. I walked in asking for help with my lip but they repeatedly asked about my eyebrows. I clearly did not want my eyebrows wax because I was already trying to grow them out from when they were overly waxed from my previous visit. So this time, I had to let them know «ONLY my upper lip,» I also ran my hand across my top lip to make sure I was clear.
Once I took step in the back room, he again asked to do my eyebrows when I had already said «no, only upper lip.» The man decided to wax below my lip without my permission. I told him I didnt even want to wax there but it was too late, the wax was already on my chin area & so he removed it. I didnt even have hair below my lip to begin with but NOW I WILL thanks to him.
He didnt deserve the tip I gave him. When I walked in the car to look in the mirror, there were still a lot of visible hair above my lip & cotton remains around my lips. Also, I am now breaking out due to the product he used on me.
I have been to many places but this has been my worst experience.

This is the best bargain for great services. I used to go to fancy places and pay $ 60 to $ 75 for a haircut. While those places were extremely fancier they don’t have the great service, hair cut and professionalism I get from here. My favorite and only stylist is Jennifer. She takes her time with me and is very detail oriented. I usually get a hair cut (only freaking $ 8), shampoo and shave all for around $ 15 total (for all three services) compare that to just for a hair cut at Great Clips or Super Cuts for $ 12-​$ 14. She makes me few like a VIP with her shaving with this sharp blade and the powdering she gives with a large black brush when she’s finishes reminds me what you would get at a great barber shop.
She also does my nails when the nail person is busy and I feel very pampered.
I used to have these tags around my neck. That’s a little tiny knot of skin all around the area of my collar from all the friction between skin and shirt and Jennifer referred me to Minh, who runs the salon, and he used a laser to remove them instead of having to go to Kaiser (which usually tells me they would have to burn them off with nitroglycerin and it would burn my skin off leaving scars and would cost me $ 75 per tag removed). To which I said ‘Hell no!’ to Kaiser. Minh charged me only $ 100 to burn off all 6 of those nasty little pieces of skin thanks to Jennifer’s referral. They do sting a bit like you got an ant biting you but that’s the only down side. The little scab that appears soon disappear and no scarring at all. Woohoo! Been trying to find a way to get those things removed for years without scarring.
I take my boys here too and they love her since she’s so friendly to the kids.
I come back for a cut/​shampoo/​shave every couple of weeks because it is such a great way to spend 30 – 40 minutes and feel so pampered w/​out paying a ton. I leave a great tip so I could keep Jennifer working there. She’s a hottie but very easy to talk to so it is cool to have a stylist I can secretly drool over. Oops, guess the secret is out. I would recommend making an appointment when possible because she’s quite busy. Sometimes I would be able to catch her by simply walk-​in but other times I would have to wait for 20 – 30 minutes. But she’s worth waiting for.

I would usually come here for a haircut from Minh, the location of the store is easy to find in the plaza. But the parking is somewhat a hassle when you come here and sometimes you can’t find one. I would say come here between 12PM — 4PM, during this time there would be a possible parking spaces available for your choosing.
Came in this morning around 11am to not finding my orginal hair stylist not at the store, I asked one of the employees if Minh is going to be here today. They told me to come in between half an hour to an hour. Alright, that’s fine, I came 4 to 5 hrs later, and he was working on a couple customers, don’t mind waiting :]
When it was my turn to get my haircut, I showed him a picture of what I wanted because I can’t really explain in a way it was understandable. He got it pretty down when he saw it, I was wondering if I was either it was me or did i smell burning of my hair? I checked my hair afterwards when he was done with my hair if my hair was damaged or whatnot from the hair dryer… meh it wasn’t hehe.
Overall, I came here about a year now and everytime I would come, Minh would always ask me how I wanted my hair before he started, and he was really nice about it. I would give this place a good 3.5 Stars :]

I started going here around March of 2012 and met Thi, who’s a really good hair stylist. I like how he takes his time and is very meticulous. However, the next time I went there, the owner said that Thi went to Vietnam. So I shrugged it off and got my hair cut by the other (which I presume is Minh). I came back a month later looking for Thi, but he’s still out, still in Vietnam.
Something smells fishy here. I think Thi no longer works there. Anybody know where he went?

On Dec 9, 2011, I came to this place for my haircut and CHAU was the hairdresser who cut my hair. I was not very satisfied with it since he cut it too short. I did not say anything since I was sitting next to a my family members. This guy got upset and started yelling at me in knowing I would not react since my family was there. As he kicked my out of his chair, he pulled the towel with force and continue yelling until I left the salon.
Since Chau is not the owner, I spoke to the owner afterwards to let him know what happened. I already reported this to the San Jose Police Department.
Please do not let this old guy CHAU cut your hair.
