Worst service ever! I couldn’t understand anything the drive-​thru person was saying, then instead of telling us they were short staffed and our food would take a little while they ignored us while we waited and waited. Won’t be going back.

Sometimes it’s slow but my food is always nice and hot.
Today I had THE BEST customer service. I had ordered 3 meals and had a coupon for one of them to be free. I misread the coupon and ordered the wrong meal and the drive thru attendant had to talk to the manager since it was my mistake and the manager went ahead and honored the coupon. I even offered to pay the difference and they said don’t worry about it. And they wished me a happy birthday. Great service. They could have just said no I was the one in the wrong but they were great. Thank you!!!

Every time I go through the drive thru at this location the wait is more than 15 minutes and my order gets screwed up!

Truly do not understand how a drive thru can take 20 mins @8pm at night. I had stopped going to this location because of their service and thought to give them another try. HORRIBLE!!! Would love to give them zero stars but not an option. You would think the mgmnt would be able to figure out a better system for the drive thru.

They forgot to give me salsa again at the drive through. Of course I found out after got home.
Make sure check what you got everything in your bag at drive through, because very often they will forget to give something.
I called and the manager apologized for what happened. I hope it doesn’t happen again because I like their food and still will eat there.

I really enjoy the food here. The new salads are really tasty and I enjoy their chicken too. The staff is always friendly, I’ve never had to wait very long to get my order and my order has always been correct. The only thing is there is an odd smell, like rancid fat inside the restaurant. I’m not sure where it’s coming from and it’s not overwhelming but I notice it every time I go in here. It hasn’t been bad enough to keep me from coming back though.

So annoyed with this establishment. Food and avocado salsa is great. But with this many workers here, I have not found friendly service here, and EVERYTIME something is wrong. You have to double check your food everytime, I’ve experienced this after 4 failed times. Pinto beans instead of black beans. Corn tortillas instead of flour tortillas. Salads dressed with cilantro when asked for no cilantro and no dressing. This one I had to actually take off the lid to check. No salad dressing on side with salad. Absolutely awful, no accuracy with this chain.

I know this is fast food, but it’s good fast food. You feel like you’re eating a little healthier, even if you’re not really. The chicken is delicious, the sides are good as well. The place is always clean and the staff is always friendly. Their little street tacos are delicious. They have lots of coupons so if you play your cards right, the place isn’t that expensive. Parking can be a little tight but they do have a drive through.

Worst el pollo loco EVER! They should have renovated the staff when they renovated the restaurant. Worst customer service and their chicken isn’t that great either… probably because they never have any. How are you a chicken restaurant but yet you guys always run out of chicken?! Then when you pull up and they ask you if you want chips because they don’t have tortillas after they just asked you if you wanted corn or flour tortillas. Also, when I get home half my order is wrong or missing. SMH.

Sometimes I would want to give this place 5 stars, and sometimes 1 star, so ended up with 3 stars. Their chicken is excellent, great quality and if you use a coupon they mail you, its an awesome deal. Problem is they screw up my order more than 50% of the time, so you have to double check. Most of the time they are understaffed, if you eat there, the salsa bar can get pretty disgusting as nobody cleans it, the soda machines are out of syrup most of the time, and trash is always piling out of the trash can. But yeah, the people who work here are idiots and always mess up your order (funny they always forget to give you something, rather than give you extra). But definitely the food here is way better tasting and more authentic than chipotle

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ORDER!!! Especially through the drive-​thru, I always order the same thing and it is always wrong. Every time. Never the same mistake either. This time I got the chicken nachos and when I got home (20mins away) I discovered there was NO FRIGGIN CHICKEN. When I drove all the way back they basically blew me off, shoved a small container of chicken at me and moved on. I realize they’re very busy but come ON! No CHICKEN on the CHICKEN NACHOS?! The food is NOT so good you can blow off major mistakes.

That might by generous.
A) no horchata here. Major pints loss
B) 7:30 on a Tuesday night and they’re running kind of slow and seem very disorganized.
Otherwise, it is what it is… and mostly they don’t have horchata…90% of the reason I stop here.

This EPL has always been one of my favs since it was the only EPL I knew. Now that I’m an EPL veteran, I know which ones I like more than others (Story and White is hands down my fav). When I’m in a pinch and didn’t have time to pack something healthy to eat, I swing by EPL and grab a loco side salad and a chicken breast. Total cost is less than $ 5 and the calorie total is about 400. You can even order it with no dressing and no tortilla strips to drop a few more cals! I strip my breast of its skin (cuz skin is bad!) and I put that bad boy breast into my salad. Toss that salad with condiments from their salsa bar (hey you can take as much as you want and they don’t care!). I add cilantro, onions, pico de gallo and tons and tons of their green guaca salsa. I’m so addicted to that. I could go swimming in it, it’s so good. And that is what I call One of my fav things to eat. There you go!

Waited ten minutes in line to find out they were out of breasts.
What kind of chicken restaurant runs out of breasts during dinner time?
I won’t be back to this location anytime soon.

This El Pollo Loco location is nice because it has a drive-​thru and is open fairly late. However, that does not mean service should lack.
I make an effort not to be «petty» when writing these reviews, but this place makes it difficult. Every time I visit this location, something crucial is always missing.always. Tonight’s visit was the last, shamefully.
I receive the salad, no dressing. Normally, they forget the fork. Either way, its a bowl of lettuce without a fork and/​or dressing.
Tonight, my meal consisted of chicken I wouldn’t feed anyone (cold and the bones were all blackened). The coleslaw was dry. The mashed potatoes were cold, along with the gravy. Both salads had no dressing, nor salsa (which I asked for specifically).
As I said, I hate to be picky. but the only part of my meal that was ‘right’ was the churros and soft drink.
The simple solution would be to merely check the bag before leaving the restaurant, but this poses two new issues. First, they package the food different every time, making it difficult to tell what is what. Secondly, the salsa/​dressing and utensils are tossed in the bag, making it hard to tell what they have included.
In perspective, my dinner was 15 $ for two people. for a bowl of chopped lettuce, a churro, and some lemonade.
I hope this location stops wasting customers money and time, I do not plan to return.

It took 25 minutes to get my order and it wasn’t right. One chicken breast was half the size of the other breast. The chicken was dry and bland.
I ordered a bag of chips to eat while I was waiting and it was such a small bag.
The kitchen is not organized and there are many people waiting for their food. I won’t come back here.

What a surprise despite the low price paid for a family meal (20 $, good for 3 adults and 1 kid)!
I didn’t like the pasty cheese enchiladas (only tortilla, very few cheese…) but the BBQ chicken and sauces were very nice, crispy and tasty!
The place doesn’t look very clean. Long queue during lunch time but the grilled chicken is worth is.

GREAT DISCOVERY
Just tried this chain for the first time a couple months ago. It’s great!
The BEST thing about this chain is they allow you to grab as much from the condiment bar as you want… this means cilantro and onions and jalapeños galore. I stock up on the guacamole dip as well as salsa. Gotta love it.
I think the mashed potatoes are pretty good.
I never hit Mickey Ds, BK, JintheB, Wendy’s… any of that stuff so this place is my grub.

For being a «fast food» chain, this El Pollo Loco sure proves otherwise. Went there during my lunch break and it took almost half an hour to get our food. And when you’re hungry and tired, 30 minutes is a long time to wait. What made me more irritated was the fact that people who got there later got their food before we did. How does that even happen?
After about 20 minutes of waiting, I headed up to the counter to see what was going on. They said that my order was going to be the second one ready. I saw a tostada salad (what I had ordered) sitting on the counter ready to be taken out and it had already been sitting there for five minutes. Then I see the employees rushing around putting chicken and rice on another plate. Turns out that was part of our order and the now cold and wilted tostado salad was mine. Needless to say, the chicken was cold by then, and it was also bland.
I think I’ll drive an extra couple of miles next time to a KFC if we’re in the mood for chicken.
