El Buen Gusto

Went there on Sunday the 17^th, 2016. Ordered a burrito de pastor. First thing I noticed was how unnecessarily spicy every salsa was. More spice than flavor. The meat wasn’t good, barely had any flavor. The beans didn’t taste freshly made as well, but the rice was just okay. I’ve had better burritos. Still ate it all though, because I was hungry. So it’s at least somewhat palatable. But it’s low on my list of burritos. ³⁄₁₀.

Best value I can find for Mexican food.
I usually get the veggie burrito. The hot sauce has a bit of a kick so you might want to ask for it on the side if you don’t like spicy food.

This is one of my favorite restaurants! the Food is absolutly incredible you really cant go wrong with any plate here. my favorite dish is «camarones momia» and to me the best drink is «russa de sangria» This place is bomb you’ll never go wrong here i promise AND they have a bakery in side with all kinds of mexican bread it is simply the best.

Foods ok… A lot of the ppl stare and especially the Mexican women that are there with their men … The whole setting is uncomfortable since it’s as if I need to be part of their clique to feel welcome there. The waitress is rude because I didn’t speak Spanish… Now granted I’m Mexican and speak Spanish doesn’t mean that I have to. Don’t be rude to me and intentionally mess up my order because I didn’t speak to u in espanol… Makes me pissed when I walk into a restaurant that IM SPENDING my money in and I get rude service … Unacceptable in my book. This isn’t Mexico even though it’s around the corner from the flea market and that’s pretty close to being in Mexico … My whole experience was not good and I never will come back. But maybe if you go there, you will have a great dining experience if you speak Spanish and loved to be stared at like a piece of meat by the men and then have the women hate you because they look like they ate too much in their lifetime and choose to be with a dog …

Me encanta este lugar lo malo que tiene malas meseras es mas facil que se te arrime una mosca que una mesera me toco pedir mis bebidas ala persona que esta en la barra cosinando malo malo!!!

This is one of my favorite places for Mexican food. Although I do wish they offered street tacos. Most of the customers are Mexican, they do understand enough English to take orders and answer questions. They have good ceviche, burritos and micheladas!!!

Rude forgetful servers and the food wasn’t good for a $ 40+ bill. I’d rather take the drive to Super Taqueria where the food is superb and the people are nice. The people inside were super ghetto throwing F bombs left and right while everyone was ‘trying’ to have dinner. Total ESSJ hood rats. Don’t take your kids there unless you are used to this type of environment.

FOOD: I wish I could give this place more stars. But the burrito did not have a lot of flavor to it. It was dry and small compared to other places. My sopa was decent. They don’t have horchata which made me sad because I love getting horchata with Mexican food. Self-​serve salsa area to put salsa in the little containers to bring with you.
VENUE: Inside was definitely festive with bright colors and lots of seating to accommodate large families and groups. Large groups can sit outside too.
OTHER: pastries available. Parking lot is small.
OVERALL: this place is just up the street from where I live so I wish this place was better. It seems busy a lot of the time so maybe other items on their menu are better than their burritos.

One of the best Mexican restaurants in San Jose. I eat here often and everything is delicious. The owner is cool and easy going.

Oh dear. Where to start.
A family member mentioned this place, so I gave it a shot. On a Friday night, dinner time here’s the breakdown:
The service: Below average for a taqueria. The lady taking the order, got it wrong not twice… but THREE FREAKING TIMES. It was what was ordered and the type of meat ordered that went wrong. –_​_​_​_​–
So we said, efff it, whatever, we’re hungry, we’ll just deal with it.
The quality of the food: TERRIBLE!!! I can take spicy food, but it’s not just me, the rest of my family complained about its ridiculous level of spice!!! What the hell! I might as well asked for the whole damn habanero! We even asked for not spicy.
Not sure if the cook was just messing with us because the order was incorrect, but damn! Sure as hell not coming back here!!!

I been to this location a few times. They start you off with chips and salsa. The salsa has a good taste to it. I enjoy eating seafood. The shrimp tostadas are pretty good. Service is good except that the waitress doesn’t approach you with the tab, you have to ask for it. Reason Im giving 4 stars is the parking is really bad. Its located in a shopping center with other stores. They should consider moving to a different location where enough parking is available.

Can get extremely busy. Went in on a Sunday afternoon and there was literally nowhere to sit so had to take it to go.
Ordered my favorite super burrito with Carne Asada. Honestly, it’s not as good as it used to be. The burrito itself was pretty bland and had to add so much salsa to make it taste better. Plus there were huge chunks of meat which were extremely tough and hard to chew.
It’s an okay restaurant, but I definitely had better.

The service wasnt all that great the lady seemed in a hurry to take our order but other than that the food was amazing totally recommend

Been here on several occasions and I agree with everyone they need to work on their customer service! Food is AMAZING! And I love their drinks!
Can never go wrong with their aguachile and a Michelada

Rude ass owner took my order after a rude ass female couldn’t understand my order or didn’t care to give excellent customer service
Never will come back here.
The owner Would never make eye contact with me. He actually rolled his eyes and stared at the wall while he took my order. He also didn’t write the order on paper. The order came out wrong. I asked him was he the manager. He said no I’m the owner. The experience my 14 year old and I experienced. I’m convinced this guy and his female employee maybe a relative or spouse of his. They are racist.

I give this place only one start because first the place is very dirty and the restroom was super dirty … Customer service is very bad and the food is not
good at all.. I order a torta ahogada and they served on a foam plate worst than a taco truck. My husband order a shrimp cocktail and it didn’t have any good taste and the shrimp was soggy … this place use to be good but now I don’t recommend it …

It’s a hit or miss with this place. but it’s my local taco and seafood spot.
Their agua chile is expensive and they don’t give you much. The shrimp cocktails are good. Ceviche tostadas are good. Tacos are delish. Breakfast burritos are ok.
I order to go a lot. They’ve messed up on my order more than once. You have to call them right away when this happens. They didn’t fix it for me the next time I came in.

Hoy por primera vez mi familia y yo fuimos a comer a este lugar pues venden tortas ahogadas y comida de Guadalajara y nos pareció que estaría rico probar su comida, pero me decepcione pues el servicio es pésimo ósea muy malo, no hay organización entre los meseros tardan bastante para tomar la orden y cuando la llevan esta equivocada, la carne de las tortas ahogadas estaba ceca como vieja y dura, el molcajete de mariscos es un fraude pues te dan puro Chile Morón y cebolla con un poquito de marisco pero eso si el precio es de más de $ 20.00 dólares.
Al final pedimos unas jericayas y nunca nos las llevaron a la mesa así que decidimos pagar y no volver a este lugar, aparte no hay parking tuvimos que esperar 20 minutos a que alguien saliera para poder estacionarnos.

:/​* bomito este lugar por que lla última vez que estuve allí con toda mi familia ordeñamos 9 tostadas de camarón y estaban aseados :-(le dijimos ala mesera y eya iba a canbiarnos las tostadas por otra cosa pero luego la manager vino muy enojada a decir que no nos iba a cambiar nada y que lo teníamos que pagar que por que eya ya avía vendido tostadas antes que nosotros y nadie abría puesto queja, x suerte una paraje en ese mismo rato también abrían encargado las mismas tostadas y tampoco se la sabían comido; entonces yo le deje saber ala pinche vieja mal humorada que talvez nadie se las avía comido ni quejado por que nadamas talvez pedían de una tostada y no era mucho $$ dinero; pero nosotros abríamos pedido 9 x $ 4.50 Hello es mucho dinero para ni siquiera avernos podido comer un camarón ya que asta apestaban :/​** y asta también el puré de papa que sirven con los molcajetes estaba echado a perder } no le recomiendo este lugar para nada¡ le doy —-***** No COMAN A QUI

This place has pretty good food for the price.
There are people that oviously come here often and have built up a relationship with the staff. They get welcomed nicely and the workers take time to chit chat with them. This makes it seem like they favor that person, but it is just the relationship they have built. That being said, they could try and be nicer to new people. I went here for the first time last week and the encounter wasn’t that great. Its not like I go to a shop for the small talk, but its nice when they have excellent customer service.
The parking lot gets crazy packed during lunch time and finding parking can be tough.
The Shop itself holds a bakery and a restaurant. The place is old and run down. The signage and kitchen area are old.
on to the food!
They offer many things, burritos, tacos, ceviche, etc. I myself got a super burrito which included meat, beans, rice, avocado and salsa (kind of spicy). This only cost me about 6 bucks for a decently sized burrito. They also have a salsa bar next to the pick up window.
If you’re not big into spicy things, i suggest you order the salsa on the side. My burrito was a bit spicy and I even saw a guy returning a burrito because he said it was too spicy for his wife to eat.

I give it three stars because the service is very VERY bad. Its not welcoming, the employees ignored the crap out if me, it took forever to even place my order, the only words spoken to me where medium or large from when i ordered my tamarindo, literally, the only words. Id hate to say that its cause if my race but being realistic it probably was because the service the other guest got was good. The constantly walked past my table to the surrounding tables making it obvious they didnt want to serve me. If you read that and your hispanic then you good to go here but if not beware. Its a sad thing because im panamanian and the cashier was surprised when started speaking spanish to her. It was dirty inside, the kitchen almost made me not want to eat there. The servers were sneezing everywhere. It was a bad experience.
The pros is that the food was decent. Thats it. Recommend you getting it to go

This is an update review and this time my bf and I were very pleased.
We walked in and sat ourselves down. Within a couple of minutes a waitress comes and hands us a menu… WITH A SMILE! Lol. Unlike the last time, we did not know if we were supposed to be seated by someone or walk up to the cashier ourselves. We ordered 1 super burrito and 4 tacos and man were they awesome. The micheladas were very refreshing as well.
I definitely want to try new things the next time we come around here. The «Molcajete» seems to be a favorite around here and it looks awesome. The food comes in a mortar looking thing and is covered by a foil. The moment you take off the foil the hot steamy goodness flourishes and is definitely a must try for someone who loves seafood and meat.
We really enjoyed my time here as the waitresses were very nice and attentive.

Janet was craving Menudo, so we decided to to try this place out. Turns out they only serve it on the weekends. The place was clean with ample seating and not much to describe in terms of décor. The service was subpar beyond the friendly smile. The server barely spoke English and was paying more attention to her closing duties than us. As an example, after we finished our meal, I asked for a to-​go container for Janet’s leftovers, which she brought promptly, but then I had to ask for the check ten minutes later. I would think that this would have been an indication that we were finished and presenting a bill would be proper without a request.
I ordered my usual burrito, which usually is a good indicator if I will like the place. Well, their burrito was a disappointment in many ways. The steak was dry and the amount seemed light, considering I ordered it with extra meat. The rice was also dry and without much flavor. Thankfully their salsa was decent and gave the burrito what it so deserved, some flavor. In addition, for a $ 8.69 price tag, the burrito was quite small. I typically don’t finish my burritos at other places, as they tend to be gigantic especially with extra meat. I finished the whole thing, and the chips and salsa saved the day serving as a filler.
With numerous quality and tasteful Mexican places in the area, I would not recommend this place. Janet’s experience was even worse, but I’ll let her fume and rave about it.

Me gusta este restaurante, lo unico que no recomiendo son sus cocteles, hay lugares que estan muchisimos mas buenos que aqui, Ojala y Los MEJOren, la verdad Es la primera vez que compro un coctel y no lo haria otravez, no me gusto su estilo.
