Went for supper last night. MEH~ Service was meh, shrimp tempura was edible but meh. Had the California roll with unagi on top(can’t remember the name of the roll), but the California roll itself was super bland. The only taste came from the unagi and sauce on top. The Fire Bomb was the best of our meal, but still, if it didn’t have the bells and whistles of the spice on the outside of the roll, it would have been tasteless. Even the seaweed salad was a disappointment, and it’s pretty hard to get that wrong. Disappointing and we won’t be back with so many other sushi restaurants to explore!

You can’t compare this little stand to a restaurant, but you’re better off getting sushi to-go at a restaurant or Safeway… This stand used to have sushi that was decent enough to buy and enjoy, but it has slowly gone downhill. The chirashi bowl here is «okay.» The sashimi in the bowl is «meehhh,» but there is a large array of sashimi which makes it mediocre. However, the dragon roll here is pathetic. I’m quite sure a dragon roll isn’t filled with one piece of tempura shrimp and a crap-load of rice… The people who prepared this roll dumped a ton of tobiko on the top, followed by thin slices of avocado, and no more than two slices of eel in the entire roll. I did not expect much from the roll when I first bought it, considering that it was chilled and packaged sushi, but I didn’t expect so little.

Not bad. I’m not a fan of chilled sushi but when I’m hungry, I love hitting up the deli fridge full of sushi and Bentos. I go with the basics, Cal Roll with 2 piece Inari Sushi. I’ll pick up some Niku Dango from the warm foods deli around the corner hoping that they would taste like Horai 555 the BEST meatballs in Japan but not so much. I enjoy munching on their Tori no Karaage(fried chicken) but again I hate eating things cold. I’ll load up and have a feast on my way back south.
