Terrific drinks, NOT watered down(the sad norm, regardless of where you go). The Margaritas were delicious and strong. Kudos and thank you. Food is good(quality but not gourmet pub grub). Great service, fun times, have loved coming here for several years. I truly don’t get the bad reviews.

Crazy times at the Brit! They have a nice patio area and lots of seating, but expect large crowds and a busy staff during most evenings. So service can be a little… ehh. The food is good though. Pretty consistant and prices are reasonable for what it is. I’ve had the bangers and mash here, the shepherd’s pie, as well as the steak sandwich(from different visits. of course, lol). All yummy. Accommodating to the Sharks fans, but yea. it can get pretty rowdy and crazy. If you can handle that type of crowd. come check it out.

Crab cakes were selfish, just right amount of spice, Irish stew was tasty too. Cool 2 pitcher beer tower but cheaper to get 2 pitchers

This bar is a trash fire. The bartenders are donks and everyone is exceedingly rude. I met a very nice couple earlier in the night and had a wonderful chat with them. One of them was a tattoo artist and so happened to have a face tattoo. I saw them again at this awful bar and before I could wave them down they were turned away because they«didn’t allow face tattoos». Followed by embarrassing him and his girlfriend further by harassing the woman for merely standing up for her boyfriend. Place is awful, drinks are bad, floor was dirty, bartender had a booger that he kept trying to sniff back into his prejudice face while half ignoring my request for drinks. Don’t go here. If you must get drunk in this area grab a can of Budweiser«Clamato» from a gas station because it’s a much more well crafted drink than these novice assholes can muster.

Service is so so, but it can get quite packed here due to the the dancing and the DJ. The nice thing is you can get giant pitchers of beer to share with your friends. Always a plus.

Came here right before a Sharks game and this place was packed. Our waitress was friendly and the food came out relatively quickly. However, I was less than thrilled with my chicken club sandwich. It tasted very bland and left me wishing I had ordered something else(i.e. the crab mac and cheese.) I’d come back if I was heading to another game since it’s less than a 10 minute walk from SAP Center. If anything, it’s a good place just to grab a drink and chill.

Came here with my wife before a Sharks game. We were not expecting much service or quality and since it was packed for the game. We sat in the front patio and sat without greeting or menus at a dirty table for about 30 minutes. I went inside twice to get a waitress. When she finally arrived we were told to be patient, she had too many tables. We had not complained, so it was odd to be cautioned instead of welcomed. We ordered and 30 minutes later the food arrived. Unfortunately it was cold and our mains arrived with our appetizers. Also the drinks had never arrived. That took an additional 15 minutes and flagging down the waitress. We decided to leave and the bill for two drinks, one app of pretzel and two sandwiches was over $ 60. Drinks were very weak considering the price and wait, food was decent had it not been cold. Stay away.

This place should get no stars. However, I’m force to post one so they get a 1. The hobbit at the front door refused 6 girls and let all the guys go in — giving and excuse that we were drunk. We were just starting our night and haven’t drank yet. Ok. If you prefer all sausages in your bar, then go to The Brit. Thanks Hobbit door man. I will never go to your establishment again and will tell everyone one I know — THEBRITSUCKS!!! I joined Unilocal just to say this place blows!!!

We pregamed here before a Tuesday night Sharks game. We actually were one of the first people of the night on the back patio at the bar, we grabbed two stools in the corner and set up shop. It was a chilly night and glad that they had heaters, but my hair didn’t stand a chance from the wind. Service: we had great service from the bartenders who actually ended up bringing our food as well. Everything was quick! As he saw our drinks getting low, he refilled them quickly. Environment: it gets pretty packed before games. So make sure you come with plenty of time to grab a seat. Beer: their beer and hard liquor selection was pretty great! They also have the towers that you can share beer with the entire table which is pretty great. Food: not bad at all. I was surprised. I was thinking it would taste like nasty hole in the wall food, but to my surprise everything was fresh and tasty.

I don’t really have much to say about the Brit. It’s a typical pub with bar food; lots of fried stuff, sandwiches, etc. we came here before a sharks game as did a lot of others. It’s convenient for games but I don’t think I would go there otherwise

The Brit?! I wanted to see what the hype was about the heart of Downtown San Jose. I’ve been to the one on Almaden and that one’s awesome! Tina’s Tricks and Ticks — 1st time here and tons of Asian people — I’m going to say my people, the Vietnamese. Haha! — Wine for $ 4.00?! Cheap, but I don’t drink. — The night I went the DJ was off the hook, playing music from back in the 90’s. I loved it. — No guards checking drunk people, this one girl was dancing all over the place and even falling on people including myself. — Old men hitting on young girls — that’s everywhere you go though, right? — Appetizers weren’t all that great. — Mediocre, but probably party place for most people. You’ll hear it… «Let’s go downtown to the Brit» — You might or might not see me hanging out there. Only been there once, probably the last? You’ll never know…

Nothing blew my mind about this place but it’s a convenient late night spot our the way home from a night downtown. Sometime it is overrun with college kids, other times with conventioneers but it’s a huge space with and indoor and an outdoor area both with bars. We went back a bunch of times for a drink or two. They have a lot of TVs around and show multiple sporting events too and opened early during the world cup! COMEONENGLAND! Fun tip: If you enjoy people watching of the drunks getting kicked our variety grab a bench by the back gates of the patio.

I’ve always wanted to go to a British style bar. However, I saw nothing that really held that expectation other than the name, a few menu items, and perhaps some drinks, at least to my knowledge. The place gets loud on weekend nights but not too crazy in the evenings and beforehand. The atmosphere and vibe is sportsy but feels empty without the nighttime rage — and I’m not one for the rage. I like classy bars. The crowd seems okay. Average people, no big deal. Nothing standoffish here. I probably wouldn’t return but to only try the food and other drinks. Not really my type of bar — nothing stood out. It just seemed average. The chocolate raspberry cocktail was good. Service is great. Well, from two people. The short girl was great, and the dude with the cartoon shirt. There was another dude with blond long hair who kept walking and running past me making awkward eye contact and wouldn’t say anything. I didn’t need anything from him but he wouldn’t acknowledge me or say hi even if he was free. Antisocial is not good service.

BARREVIEWONLY I feel like I haven’t had the full experience here because I didn’t try the food. We only stopped in for a few beers before the Sharks game and this is a convenient location from the Shark Tank. I say it’s a good idea to get your last minute drinks here before the game before paying up the butt for the ones at the stadium. The bartenders were very attentive and friendly. They have a wide selection of beers on tap and bottles. And being that they are based like a British Pub, they offered several ciders on tap as well(which I ordered) There were games on all their tv’s and they don’t mind changing the channel for you if it’s not inconveniencing others. The only downside is that they don’t have much drink specials but it was a decent price anyways for a beer.

Had dinner here one night and I gotta say as far as the food goes I was not very impressed. It is typical bar food and that is not the problem I just personally thought the food lacked any quality. The service was good but honestly I do not see myself coming back because of the lackluster food.

I finally was in town for a Sunday to watch football at the Brit. This is a pretty good place for football since they have a lot of TV’s(and you can ask for a speaker for your table if you want to hear the sound for your game) and have NFL Ticket. They also have a good selection of beers on tap and a full bar, and a lengthy menu. I heard the food can be hit or miss, so stick to bar type foods to be safe. There are also a couple of specials for football Sunday. I got a Bloody Mary($ 7?, ) and it was actually pretty good. I liked the amount of horseradish they put in it, but it was missing a celery stalk. My friend ordered the pretzels and that was pretty good– the pretzels had a good crust to it and the cheese sauce was also made well. It’s very dark inside, and the service can be very slow(we usually had to just flag down our server), but it’s still one of the better places to watch football if you want to watch a lot of different games at the same time. Parking was ok when I got there around 10:30am since there was a good amount of street parking available.

Isn’t this place called«The Brit»? I’m confused. It seems like the same one that’s at the SJC airport. Oh well. This is now one of my favorite places to grab a drink before the Sharks game. The bartenders were all super friendly and accommodating– I never had to sit there with an empty glass. There are also TVs with every game you can think of surrounding you, which is nice. We got a special pre-game deal, which is a pint and a shot of Jack Daniels for $ 5. Definitely kept me warm on that cold night.

Great place to grab a beer and watch the fights. They have a really cool patio area with plenty of seating. They usually close it up early and just operate the inside but they are good about keeping it open if people want it. Better then bar food but not as good as a restaurant. The tacos are good. We were there on wed night and they were rocking some karaōke. We stopped in after the Sharks game. I almost always stop by here when I’m in SJ.

Good customer service, nice atmosphere, but the food is beyond terrible and overpriced. First, I know this is predominantly a bar, but considering they offer a large food section on their menu, I expected decent food. Due to the lighting inside of this establishment, I didn’t take any pictures of the food. However, I did take a picture of the receipt to show the price per item. I went with a friend and we used a Groupon I recently purchased. We ordered potato skins($ 10), a mushroom Swiss burger($ 14), and a flat iron steak sandwich($ 17). Regarding the potato skins, they had no flavor at all. Every time I took a bite, I had to douse the potato skins with ranch dressing. As for the mushroom Swiss burger, it was the only food item that had a modicum of flavor. Additionally, I was never asked how I wanted the burger prepared, so it came out well-done. Regarding the flat iron steak sandwich, this was easily the worst food item I ordered, as it was super thick, it had zero flavor, and it was extremely tough to chew. Moreover, skinny french fries were brought out with each burger, but both batches of fries tasted like they had been sitting out for awhile. If I was going to rate this establishment solely on the food they serve, I would give a rating of 1 star. The 2 star rating is due to our waitress, Isabel, who was very nice and made sure we had everything we needed.

I’m giving a Sports Bar 3 stars… that’s impressive! This Brittania Arms location is bigger and cleaner than the others, and the food is slightly better than average pub grub. Friends swear by the chicken sandwich, but hubby tried to be healthy with the Citrus Chicken. Health mission unaccomplished, though, as the beers and onion rings multiplied as the night wore on. The number of TV screens was awesome, and we were able to watch the Warriors win Game 3 over the Rockets in the conference finals — and local boy Cormier win over Johnson in UFC187. Our server was great, totally on and attentive; I think she deserved more tip but the other guys overspent themselves. Next time, we’ll ask for separate checks! I’m ready to name this my new favorite place to watch UFC…
