We had breakfast here last Sunday, party of 4. Very welcoming and friendly service even though they were clearly very busy. Everyone was more than satisfied. Coffee was constantly replenished, which is a big thumbs up! Loved the Swami and breakfast burrito.

This is hands down the best breakfast place I’ve ever been to! They hook you up with the food and the prices are great! I always get the number 12, which is 3 delicious buttermilk pancakes or a waffle(belgian or regular, your choice), 5 strips of bacon or sausage, and eggs! All for $ 10.39! Way better thab Dennys. My boyfriend and I made it a habit to go on the weekends, we love this pkace too much. Excellent service, you get seated pretty fast and the servers always make sure your coffee cup is full! Anyway, love this place. 10⁄10 would recommend :)

This was written but never published until now. I called them last week and the person I spoke with someone. They couldn’t answer any questions and were going to investigate. I gave them my number. It can’t be hard to forget since I was extremely upset and my phone number had a different area code on it. I guess customer service and satisfaction is not important. Again, I can’t stress how there are better and busier restaurants on this same street if you look far enough. You’ll be far more satisfied there than here. It’s not at all worth it and the food from the pics posted doesn’t look at all special. Go elsewhere.

Efficient, busy, and delicious. They have the best breakfast menu in the area. Plus, you don’t need to wait outside for hours like a chump.

Nothing really exciting here in terms of food. Probably a slight edge over Denny’s or McDonald’s for breakfast, but definitely not a «brunch» place and more of a diner than anything.

I came here with my 4yo twins and a couple of other adults. There was a slight wait for our party of six, but they accommodated us fairly quickly. It has a loud diner feel which is perfect when you have hyper toddlers in tow. In our party, we ordered a variety of items, including the waffles, an omelet, corned beef hash, and fried chicken steak. Everything was pretty delicious, and the service was also really great, my coffee cup(though very cute and small) never was empty. Despite it having a small seating capacity, there was only a small wait time(and we came at 11:30am on a Saturday morning, presumably peak brunch hours) and the service was also really fast. They took our orders and before I knew it, our food had already arrived. At the same time, I didn’t necessarily feel rushed by the servers, it was just that they worked extremely efficiently. It was a great experience and I would definitely come back with friends again, especially since it is so close to me. It’s like what brunch was like before it became hip and cool, which(as a not very hip and not very cool person) is exactly what I look for in brunch.

Definitely more than okay for breakfast — fast service and decent food — I was a bit disappointed that the cheese used was most likely processed swiss and not real swiss cheese and I like hash browns well done but have only found one place that ever does that correctly(this wasn’t it).

We really liked this place. My husband had the verde omelette and it was super delicious. Excellent flavor and a hearty plate full of potatoes too. I had the French toast stuffed with egg, Han and cheese and omg… yum yum yum! My son(2 yrs old) really liked mine a lot. The orange juice serves its own shout out. Fresh squeezed and we loved it. Ambiance was diner type and my son liked the fish aquariums. Country inn is always packed and the service is not great. This place, the service was better. At country inn we get offered one refill of coffee(Mabey) but we were offered refills 5 times.

Nice little local diner, with lots of choices of what to eat. Mostly breakfast with a few lunch items, it’s kind of a hodgepodge of different things, and has an atmosphere to match. The quality of the food is good, nothing super special, but not bad. The service has always been friendly, and accommodating to any special requests

I cannot believe I’ve never reviewed this place! I’ve been going here for 4 years. It took me 2 years to find a decent greasy spoon breakfast place when I transplanted from Cleveland. This spot was as close to it gets to a midwestern breakfast and I’ve been a loyal patron ever since. Their omelets are killer, but I get eggs and toast which are amazing. My fiancé always gets the french toast with fresh fruit and swears by their fresh juices. Love the coffee, love the weird ass crap hanging on the wall. It’s the best hangover food in the South Bay. Weekends are busy but they get you in and out pretty quick. There’s this really cranky lady that is scary as hell and sometimes when she’s my server I pee a little, but the food is always delicious so I just keep my eyes down, order my food and hope she doesn’t kill me! This place is the best kept secret in SJ!

My buddy and I were trying to compromise. I wanted Japanese food but like any non-Japanese, his ramen is not my ramen. We went into Mitsuwa Marketplace because he said that he would try to find something to eat. He shook his head and said«no», just«no». As we were going, I saw this place, that looked like a 1970s IHOP building. I didn’t have any idea what to expect. They were only open for breakfast and lunch. I’ve been to places like this in the past and they were okay. They’re usually frequented by the senior crowd. Inside, an Asian woman told us to sit anywhere. We found an unoccupied table and sat. The table was clean, thankfully. The woman arrived with menus and asked us what drinks we wanted. We both got juice.(I thought it interesting that Asians should be running a typically American restaurant, though I’d had a good experience at Manoa Diner outside Philly. I even had biscuits and gravy there.) We looked over the whole menu. I ended up selecting Ma Po To Fu, a Shanghai-nese dish, served on rice, and my buddy ordered Mandarin Orange Chicken. No biscuits and gravy for me this time. My buddy was amazed that his orange juice seemed to be freshly-squeezed orange juice. Unfortunately, my apple juice was more typical. The food arrived quickly. I don’t remember a short order cook ever doing Chinese food. The sauce for the Ma Po To Fu was surprisingly good, and we both enjoyed the meal. What was also surprising was the price – $ 29 and change.

My first time here and the food was awesome! I drive by it everyday and also get gas at the gas station right in front of it. You walk in and its bright, inviting and the waitress seated us quickly. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because my fork on the table had food on it. I told the waitress and she brought me a new fork apologizing. The food was served really fast! My boyfriend got the medium rare Steak and scrambled Eggs cooked PERFECTLY. And I got the Chicken Fried Steak with Home Hash browns and scrambled eggs… it was AMAZING!!! Definitely going back.

A bit unassuming from the outside, Bill of Fare is located in a residential area behind a gas station. It is a really old school American breakfast joint run by a Chinese family. It runs like clockwork in both a good and bad way: service is really fast, but our hero did feel a bit rushed to finish his meal so that they could turn over more tables. Breakfast runs about $ 10 a plate and is a notch above IHOP. It’s not exactly a place that’s worth going out of the way for, but if you’re doing the walk of shame home in the neighborhood… why not? PROS: — Omelettes are large and hearty. — Meals are quick and spot on. CONS: — The menu isn’t outstanding and there’s no real standout items on there. — It’s pretty packed and hectic, so it’s not the best place for a relaxing brunch.

First off, let me just say that parking is a real chore. Sure there is a Parking in front of the restaurant but the Gas Station sure throws your perception off. THEN there is Parking in the rear which sort of shares with another business. Be forewarned don’t bring a Full Size SUV as Parking is tight. IF you do bring a Full Size SUV Park it backwards so it’s easier to leave the lot. There is no street parking unless you park a block away in the residential street west and south of the restaurant. IF you do eat lightly! On to Breakfast! I came here with my Wife &3 daughters whom we met up with my Brother-In-Law and his Fiancé as it was their idea to have a breakfast brunch with us all. I began to Unilocal all the places within a 10 mile radius. BUT I soon learned there are a lot of breakfast places in West, Mid and So San Jose and they all began to look the same. So I decided on Bill of Fare because I saw a dish on the menu and the pics that no other common breakfast establishment would even think of putting on their menu. My Wife’s brother and Fiancé got there first and so they got our tables ready as we were still trying to find parking. Your first impression will be like mine when you walk in «WHAAA!!!» cause really it is like«WHAAA!!! as you try to take it all in. Sure an Asian Lady Host greets you and asks how many, but you just can’t help and stare at EVERYTHING and sort of get lost as your brain ties to take it all in. AND I mean EVERYTHING! Everything on the wall is so… hmm. how do I put it? 70’s to maybe Early 90’s eclectic wall art of random pictures and other oddities. Then you just can’t help but to stare at everyone and their food as you are being led to your table to be seated as you maneuver ever so cautiously through a tight aisle way that weaves between tables and chairs(ladies if its really busy try to bring a small purse so as to not whack someone in the back of the head). The place is rather tight so there might be some chair bumping with your neighbor so bring patience and some kindness after all it’s breakfast! This place has the usual American/European Genre Breakfast Items from Oatmeal to Pancakes & Waffles of different varieties served with the normal sides most Americans are used to, but they also some other dishes in which you would not even think of. Like Spam and Rice with Eggs(Local Hawaii/Filipino and parts of Pacific Asian Favorite). OR the Loco Moco which they call it the Hawaiian Sun(personally so much better than Da Kine Island Grill in Downtown San Jose but almost close to L&L. Sorry being totally honest here). To some veggie breakfast dishes for those that are to where you can build your own omelette of your choice. Or sauteed beef over rice and green onions. Eclectic? Yep it sure is! Food tastes? Darn good! Will I come back yep! Give it a try after all isn’t breakfast the most important meal of the day?

I’ve been coming here every now and then for over ten years. According to my parents, this place has been around since the 80s.(No idea if it’s been owned by the same people since its inception though.). Personally, I’ve always been here for breakfast/brunch and never for lunch. Pros: + Relatively extensive menu, with an especially large selection of omelettes(]‘ve always been a big fan of their french toast and their oatmeal). + Decent hours: Seeing as this restaurant is located in the hustle and bustle of San Jose, with many people rising early for work, they open at 6:30 to accommodate those who seek an early breakfast. And seeing as they’re strictly a breakfast and lunch place, they close at 2:30. + Every single time I’ve been here, despite how busy it gets, my and my party’s food has always arrived in no more than 15 – 20 minutes. And believe me when I say that this place can get BUSY. + The waiters and waitresses are always very attentive. They will always check up on you to refill your water and/or coffee and to ask how everything’s going. + I don’t know if they do this anymore, but they used to give out free calendars. Cons: — Because this place can get quite busy, parking can become a problem. Even parking in the back can get filled up, which usually results in having to park in the residential area in the back. — You may come across a select few employees who are not the friendliest, nicest group of people out there. But nobody has ever been explicitly rude. Overall, I like to come here whenever I can and I think you should too. I promise that you will not be disappointed. 4 stars

Plenty of good food that come out quickly with large portions at reasonable prices. Whew that was a lot but this place is that great. They are opened for Christmas and my family loves to get breakfast then. I got the garden omelette with crab and it was delicious. I recommend the hash browns and raisin bread toast as well. The place may look a bit sketch and run down but it is a good breakfast place no doubt.
