Bergen Bistro

They had solid portion sizes and food variety, but the customer service was extremely lackluster. I really did not feel welcome at all. Their garlic bread was just bread with parmesan cheese and butter. On the plus side, their crepes are pretty good. (on the small side though) The other dishes were filling and larger than normal. My group of 4 had a enjoyable time at the bistro despite the customer service.

This is OK food with a good assortment of dishes. Nothing really stands out but the sheer variety and that nothing will be terrible makes it a decent place to order from for company things. The portions are pretty good and it’s quite efficient to order online makes it about average, perhaps slightly above average.

Ugh. Potato salad is tasteless. I ordered the steak sandwich with horseradish on it. There was supposed to be other stuff on it as well, lettuce, onions whatever. I get it to go and So i thought they gave me the wrong sandwich because the only thing on it is cheese. I get to the last bite and i get a hint… hint of horseradish. And the wait time was like 15 – 20 min.

At the time of the visit it wuz great service and a nice clean great service very nice people it’s just one thing the restroom door handle on the ladies restroom had a gap the handle wasn’t properly installed on the door that’s the only thing wrong.

Where to start? It took 5 minutes to order three simple items because the guy had no idea what was on their menu, or how to put in the order. He kept pushing add-​on sides instead of noting simple things like how I ordered the eggs. When I said eggs over easy with corned beef hash he tried to add it on as a separate side (it comes with eggs per the menu). It took 15 minutes for us to get two coffees (receipt timestamp to arrival), and I hope you like powdered creamer because that’s all they have.
When the food showed up, surprise! It was mostly wrong and mostly bad. One plate which was ordered with scrambled eggs showed up with over easy. My «over easy» eggs were rock hard, and the potatoes that I asked for extra crispy were undercooked and soggy. The corned beef hash was straight from a can (and not a very good one). Oh, and we were literally the only customers in the place, so this can’t be blamed on overworked/​swamped staff. We should have taken the empty dining room as a sign right off the bat. Will definitely not be back.
On the plus side, my wife said her breakfast sandwich was pretty good.

Food was scheduled to arrive in 40 minutes, 90 minutes later it showed up cold. I won’t be ordering again.

Finally dined in. I’ve ordered delivery from Bergen but I’ve never ate at the restaurant. The food is great and I have a friend who now loves it too. The new owners are very nice and the sushi is surprisingly good. Like so good I’m going to come back just to order sushi. I love this place!

Hooray a new place to order catering! My company orders catering often, and the same food gets tiring. My executive asked if we could order in wraps, because sandwiches were getting boring and I found Bergen Bistro. I had some time prior to the meeting it was requested for, so I placed an order for delivery to try out first.
I tried a couple of different wraps: Chipotle Chicken, Turkey, Roast Beef. They were all pretty tasty!
I ordered twice so far for the team. Once for an executive meeting, and once for a last minute team meeting. A lot of people asked where the food had come from, because the wraps were great! They were especially impressed with the Hot Veggie wraps. We have a lot of vegetarians at our office.
For the exec meeting, I had requested for the wraps to be cut in half and placed on catering trays. The delivery came early, and the food was displayed nicely on the trays. The only hiccup was that they placed the veggie wraps with some meat wraps onto the same tray. Luckily the second time around they did not do this as requested.
This is one of our new go to places for catering!

We had the pleasure of Bergen Bistro catering our conference for 300 today.
Kim was there for every step of the planning process and followed up on everything. Bergen truly went above and beyond in ensuring we had enough food for everyone and was very accommodating! If you need a caterer for a large function, I highly recommend Bergen!

Off the topic & on to the actual use of this forum. They «Bergen Bistro» have a distinct & unique array of typical & atypical dishes.
Personally: the Southwestern veggie burger-​minus mayo & addition of onion rings.phenomenal. This is my 3^rd attempt.

I used to order from this place but recently they started to suck major. First I noticed their ingredients wasn’t as fresh, they started substituting the turkey in their sandwiches with with cheaper cold cuts and their delivery service arrive late as heck. As in 1.5 — 2 hours late and you can’t contact them.

I have ordered via Eat24 several times, but yesterday was outrageously delicious!

And as always the Basil Seeds drinks are amazing!

I can see how it would be great for catering an event or ordering lunch for the office, because of their wide selection. That’s mostly what they have going for them; Variety. The quality, however, is very average. Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about, either. If anything, it’s overpriced, all things considered. I’d pay $ 10 for a burrito from a great authentic Mexican restaurant. That’s fair. But from here? They should drop that price down to five or six. Of course, being that we’re in Silicon Valley and have a ton of offices around here (who I’m sure also appreciate a good price: value ratio), that’d probably lead to too much demand for their services, and delayed wait times.
Basically, don’t go here and expect to want to order dinner for the family again.
For the 9-​to-​5ers, go for it. Four stars.
For everyone else, don’t even bother.

My girlfriend recommended me to come here for lunch. We actually drove all the way from Santa Clara to get some grub here. I ordered the bbq burger combo. The meat and bun was perfect. The burger taste great for a mom and pop restaurant.
There business is near frys electronics.

In my opinion it’s about QUALITY, not quantity. Sure they might staple a small baggie of candies to my order. Sure they include freshly baked cookies and have coupons to get additional diabetes-​related treats. Sure their delivery is faster than anticipated. But…
Bergen usually arrives early, which is not great when you need your food to stay hot for lunch after a scheduled meeting. Their burgers often arrive with a soggy bun, their yellow chicken curry has a HUGE amount of rice and barely any chicken curry, their turkey wrap is the most sodium-​rich gross thing on the planet, and the delivery fee is $ 7.
When I made a complaint about the quality of the food, they offered to discount $ 5, which doesn’t even cover the delivery fee.
Overall, I’m not too impressed.

Ordered breakfast via DoorDash. The pancakes were so fluffy and yummy. The egg and ham scramble had a little water in them from sweating in the to-​go container but they were still delish and the potatoes with spices were extra yummy. They even added 2 free homemade chocolate chip cookies. Oh and they did
n’t forget to add utensils, jam, syrup and napkins. Great food for being so low priced. Thank you!

I haven’t actually been into the Bergen Bistro, but I’ve ordered delivery from them several times.
They’ve always had my order right, deliver quickly, and generally toss some extra cookies into my bag of goods.
Their menu is HUGE. They offer deli style goods, breakfast stuff, Chinese cuisine, and health conscious items, as well as a plethora of sweets (Black Forest cake, crepes, cheesecake). They also seem to have this strange love of meatballs (which I’ve never tried)…
I’m guessing that because of the extensiveness of their menu, it can be difficult for them to focus on items that they’re really great at. But I’ve always enjoyed the food I’ve ordered from them.

I was looking for Café’s and small restaurants to get a quick bite at during my break from homework and studying. I came across Bergen’s through Unilocal and the reviews were mediocre-​ish but I went to go try it for myself.
I went in and it seemed like a mediocre diner within an industrious park. The staff were nice and patient. It took me a while to pick something to eat because there were a number of tasty-​sounding options such as the Meatball Sandwich and the BBQ Burger. I came across the «BBQ Burrito» and it sounded more interesting than appetizing. And I ordered it to-​go anyways.
It didn’t take long for it to come out, probably a quicker-​than-​expected time, about 5 minutes. In the bag came two to-​go boxes, one with the burrito and the other with chips and salsa. I had a bit of the chips with the salsa first and the kind of salsa they included was good. It’s mild and I’m more of a medium to hot kind of guy.
Looking at the burrito, it was wrapped in a green tortilla which I have never tried yet. Taking the first bite, it was very hot but the mix of the onion rings, meat, and the bbq sauce was very good. Although it was continuously hot throughout the time eating it, I couldn’t stop. It was very good and all the flavors from every part was there. I kinda wished there was no beans.

I think I’m usually a bit harsh when I write my reviews. I delve into as many details as I can, and, sometimes, it comes off a bit cold. However, I definitely can’t match all of these reviews from people who had perhaps «sub-​par» ordering experiences.
I’ve ordered from Bergen Bistro twice, and eaten in for the first time today. I want to go over the complaints that many people seem to have about Bergen Bistro just to set the record straight.
First of all, I don’t get what is with all the hate to the lady behind the counter. She is working her ass off (clearly) in the kitchen as well as front of house, and she addressed everything I needed. She speaks concisely and quickly… maybe that’s the problem people are having? The customer service here (drivers included) are really cool people from what I’ve experienced thus far.
I see several people complaining that the delivery service is horrid. Both times that I’ve had food delivered, it is at the expected time, it is still warm, it is usually pretty good, and it includes free extras, like cookies and a little baggie of peppermints! I ordered to my office, too, and the driver called me and met with me quickly and easily outside the front lobby (I actually answer my phone when it rings and I’m expecting something, unlike some of the other reviewers here, it seems.)
The reason why a star is deducted is because the food is very hit or miss for me. I’m vegetarian, and they do have a pretty extensive veg menu available in the restaurant (they’ll pretty much serve you anything any way you want it, it seems), but it’s always dangerous to have such a huge and confusing array of menu items. Unfortunately, the dangers of having such a big menu have surfaced with a couple of my orders; food that is not well seasoned, similar in taste (even if it’s an entirely different dish), greasy, and just plain not that good.
On the flip side, a couple of things have tasted great, and the low price one pays gets a fairly large portion of food every time. In fact, I only spent about $ 17 to get a starter, a main dinner option, and a dessert one time, and ended up with so much food that I shared it with three other people.
I’ll probably be ordering from here again in the future. I would recommend it to people in the area looking for a fast, cheap eat.
