Bensons Cleaners

Very disappointing experience. I heard great things about this place so I brought a lot of clothes to be cleaned at once. The Korean woman at the desk was very nice at drop off and went over all of my clothes with me including a white cocktail dress I had gotten makeup on around the neckline. When I went to pick up all my clothes they were quick to rush me out of there and even carried my clothes to my car. When I got home my white dress was hidden in between two suits and when I pulled it out I saw it had a big 3″ blue spot on the stomach area of the dress. I brought it back to ask what happened and the nice woman started to stutter «hmmm, mmmm maybe you spill wine?» I said, no I did not spill wine and you and I went over this dress together when I showed you the makeup around the neck. Within seconds her husband comes out very rude and says «you spill wine, it not come out, your fault! We not pay!!» I had already paid the day before and hadn’t even had a chance to ask them to do anything about it before he started yelling at me. I then said «this happened at your shop and I want you to fix it or the dress is ruined» He said, «fine we try again but it won’t come out. If you don’t pick up we throw away!» At that point I was so mad I just left my ruined dress there and never went back as it was obviously pointless. Sad thing was that the rest of my dry cleaning came out pretty good and I would have returned had they just apologized and handled the situation better.

One star for the nice Spanish woman that works there.
But the owner is nothing but RUDE! Do NOT come here! Not professional at all, doesn’t smile and wouldn’t alter my dress. RUDE, RUDE, RUDE! Maybe if you’re Asian you’d get better service.

I brought in my Hugo Boss suit/​shirt and I’m pretty disappointed with the outcome. The shirt was not properly cleaned and suit was pressed too hard.
If you have expensive/​high end clothing, I would avoid this place at all costs.

This is an awesome place, they are so friendly and accommodating and there are never any issues with the clothes. I recommend them highly.

Bensons have been taking care of me and my clothes for a couple of years now and I apologize that I haven’t given them a review sooner. These guys are always friendly and courteous and I would definitely recommend them to all for a quality dry cleaners!

Benson’s did a great job on some suit type jackets that were pretty doggone soiled, as they had been riding around in the trunk of the car for quite some time. Nice job, and thank you!
Update 9÷4÷2015: I have been back several times since that first experience, and Benson’s is now my «go to» cleaner. Consistent, reliable and they do a great job every time.

Always get great service. Always on time. Nothing ever lost. We’ve been thru lots of dry cleaners. We’ve been with these guys for years… never had a problem.

My favorite spot to get anything altered! I won’t let anyone touch my clothes or my husbands except for Bensons.
It’s an Almaden staple and I highly suggest this place for one of the cleaners that’s been voted «best of almaden» … I saw the plaque hanging.

We have been using Bensons Cleaners for about half a year now and they always deliver great work. It would be even more perfect if they could extend their hours till a little later because I like to pick up our stuff after work hours. We already referred many of our friends to Bensons Cleaners.

Excellent customer service and my clothes are always crisp and clean. If they do mess up (which almost never happens) they will immediately fix whatever the issue is. For instance my jeans once had a crease ironed in the middle of them like dress pants… Not cool, but they redid it and had them to me the next day. :)

Perfect job every time! And the seamstress does great work too! Prices are also quite reasonable and staff is friendly. I would drive across town for their service!

I’m new to the area, and didn’t know where to go for excellent dry cleaning service. Unilocal saved the day! I dropped off my peacoat and my boyfriends down feather jacket to get cleaned. It was a bit pricey, but I don’t know on average how much it is to clean a down feather jacket and a wool peacoat.
The boyfriend’s jacket was in serious need of cleaning. I don’t need to go into details, but let’s just say the collar needed the most attention. Bensons did an excellent job and was on time with the pick-​up day! We can now be warm in the coldddddd.

My family and I have been going to Benson’s for years. It is quite difficult to find people who not only clean the clothes well but whom you can trust to perform alterations flawlessly. They also enjoy helping the community and offered me dry cleaning certificates which I could sell for fundraisers. One time I accidentally left my bluetooth headset in my pocket and it was returned unharmed and without any damage! I can say that they’re honest and provide excellent service! 5 stars!

Best dry cleaner in San Jose! Their attention to detail and fast friendly and courteous service keeps you coming back. I’ve tried other cleaners in a pinch and have been disappointed evey time. Never a lost item or damage to any garment. The owners treat customers as family. I mean that in a good way. Bensons has a customer for life here.

It really is difficult to find a quality cleaners that you can trust with your clothes and alterations, and Bensons is one of the few places I trust. I’ve had everything cleaned here from a wedding dress to my husband’s clothes and it’s so refreshing to know they are going to come home the same way they left, but cleaner. Had a very vintage corduroy jacket (circa 1970) cleaned here, picked up today. The jacket is very special, belonged to my dad when he was a teacher and now that I am one, he gave it to me. Needed a good cleaning though since it had obviously been stashed in a closet since the Carter administration.
Bensons did a great job. No buttons missing, done quickly, very friendly service, and a fair price. Great location in Almaden. Really no complaints here at all. Thanks Bensons!
