Airport Plaza Inn

This place is pretty nice given the neighborhood it is close to! I had decent customer service all the way around and I think it’s fairly new so the place is clean and the rooms are designed well and comfortable-​on line booking, I’d recommend at price point! It’s real close to Santa Clara University so you have some of the happening food places to go to in the area as well!

From this experience and my last with Best Western I will never stay at another again. They have the worst customer service that I have ever seen.
We checked in around 7pm to find that we were assigned a non-​smoking room, we had requested a smoking room. We were told by the front desk that we had requested non smoking. Uh no. Myself and my friend are smokers, I know what we requested, so we were then told that queen rooms were all non smoking. We let her know that the person who took the reservation assured us that it would be smoking, she was not apologetic or helpful in this situation at all. (older woman probably 50 – 60) However when we inquired about other hotels in the area she became very helpful. Go figure, why would she encourage us to stay elsewhere instead of finding us another room?
The beds were comfy, the room was a nice size, the window opened (always a plus), and the bathroom was a nice size. Upon leaving that night we saw a HUGE roach scurry across the hall, I took a picture of it and watched it make its way into a room. I showed the picture to the person at the front desk in the morning (FD closes at 11pm) she didn’t believe us! I had to point out the carpet in the picture several times before she actually admitted it was on there property! The manager wasn’t there, and the clerk didn’t know when she would be in next, we were told that the manager doesn’t have a set schedule. (give me a break lady) She finally comped our room.
To add insult to injury, when I walked out to my car there was a tow notice taped to the window. When I showed it to her she informed that I had written down the wrong license plate. No, I didn’t even write down my plate number just the make and model, the person that checked us in wrote in a fake plate number which could have caused us to get towed!!! WTF?!
The people here are shady. The only plus is they have an adorable house cat, that is very friendly :)
Oh and I left my pillow there, I called to have it sent to me, lets see how that goes…
