This is a pre-review until I get there in person. I called to get some information about fixing my vacuum. Gentleman did not want to hear about what’s going on and just insisted he can fix my vacuum. When I asked what time they open/close, he did not want to give me any information about it and just said they’ll be open. I work late sometimes, so that’s not super helpful. I guess I’ll have to call before I head in and make sure someone picks up. Hope he can fix my vacuum!

I think I found this shop in the Yellow Pages, called and went there. The shop does not look impressive at first – very crowded and small; HOWEVER, the wonderful service combined with the owner’s knowledge and willingness to help you handle your problem more than overcame my initial reservations. He quickly replaced the damaged parts of my shampooer(I had to leave it with him) and when I went to pick it up, it looked almost like new. It absolutely did not look like that when I took it in to him– he’d cleaned it up quite a bit. I then mentioned my sewing machine that I’d inherited but couldn’t seem to figure out how to correctly put the thread in. He said to just bring it in and he’d show me. I didn’t ask what he’d charge, but I’m certain it would be minimal. I felt like I was a part of their family when I left. Nice people, knowledgeable, and his prices are reasonable. What a find!

I can not agree more with Colin T’s review. The guy is great and knowledgeable. I needed to replace a belt on my vacuum. I looked at Lowe’s, Home Depot and Sears, all which did not have the size for my canister. I found this mom-pop shop on Unilocal and showed the guy behind the counter my damaged belt. Just by looking at it he pointed out the belt was a lower quality rubber but still new looking, and because it had a nick, he suspected that there could be other issues with the vacuum. He then told me if it didn’t work, feel free to bring it by; I can tell if I had it with me he could’ve quickly diagnosed if the belt was my only problem. He only charged me a few bucks for the belt which was comparable in prices but higher quality than those found at large home improvement stores. He didn’t try to pressure sell me on anything else. We chatted a bit about various vacuums and seems VERY knowledgeable regarding what’s a good /bad brand or model. His store is packed with a wide selection of vacuums and sewing machines, and you can tell he’s passionate about what he does. Definitely a gem and highly recommended!

I brought my 4 year old vacuum here because the brushes and suction had lost power, and I was hoping it could be fixed for less than buying a new one(it was about 125 $ new). The owner is very friendly and assured me «no problem, it will be like new again», and for about half the cost of buying a new one. I was a little skeptical, but thought I’d give him some business since it’s a small local shop and he’s a really nice guy. When I got the vacuum back two days later, I was completely amazed. it was even BETTER than new, with way more power than I ever remember it having. Totally worth it. If that wasn’t enough, a few days later I accidentally got a sock stuck in the brush and the belt totally melted. I brought it back to him, and he replaced the belt in about 10 minutes, and only changed me a couple bucks for the materials. They also seem to carry a good stock of vacuums and sewing machines for sale, and can probably find parts for just about any model. A great local mom and pop shop!
