Take forever for 4 simple tamales when they telling me wait for 5 to 10 minutes arrived time 8:25 right now is 8:47 and my order is not ready

Everything that Casa Cardenas makes is absolute perfection. I love the fresh meat, tortillas and the arroz con leche cups. The pre-made, hot food is always good as well. The staff are hit or miss with their customer service.

Love the products, rotisserie chicken when I’m on the go, produce and of course the sweet bread. Except it gets crowded too much and needs more cashiers, just like Wal-Mart has long lines at the cashier. But I’ll give it a 4.5, too bad Unilocal doesn’t allow any half points.

The absolute worst carne asada I’ve ever had in my life. $ 6.99 for marinated carne asada that tasted like crap. I thought I’d try another store for a change instead of El Toro or Stater’s. Huge mistake. Zero flavor, tough, chewy. Just wasted almost $ 16 for 2.5 lbs of the nastiest meat ever. Do not go here if you want good quality meat! If you like to eat crap then by all means go here. This place is gross and looks like it is straight out of the 80s. The employees are nice though.

I hate writing bad reviews but I was in there today, me and my mom decided we should get some food there since the checkout lines were super long. We ordered our food, sat for about 10 – 15 minutes and look over to the kitchen and no one was making our order, so we got up asked then why the food was taking so long and they said that they were going to work on… another 10 minutes passed and still no one had worked on our order so we just decided to get our money back and leave since it had been roughly 30min since we had ordered… Bottom line: please hire people that know what they are doing in the kitchen, saw a couple employees just looking around not doing anything, saw a SUPERVISOR on his phone the whole time not telling the employees to do things… definitely not coming back to this store, customer service was horrible.

Looking for pre-marinated chicken meat to grill on the BBQ, they only had chicken breast, no dark meat, price was a little high so we picked up tortillas, cilantro, onions and limes but went to a different store for the meat. The place was clean and wasn’t crowded on a Thursday night. We ended up getting the meat at El Toro Market down the street, the price was better and the guy behind the counter was really helpful.

Check out your local flyer for deals on produce and meat. I always get my produce from Cardena’s, you can’t find lower prices anywhere else. Usually this is what I wait for: bananas 3lbs/99 cents avocados 6⁄99 cents oranges 4lbs/99 cents tomatoes 4lbs/99 cents green bell peppers 3⁄99 cents jalapenos 6lbs/99 cents tilapia 1lb/99 cents etc! Definitely try their salsa and guac!!! OMG amazing. Those are just a few examples of the deals they frequently have. Their produce is fresh and always great! I won’t pay the ridiculous prices at other stores! The checkout is fast if you have less than 10 items. If you have a cart full, the lines can get pretty lengthy, which is probably my biggest complaint. The employees are always friendly and eager to help! This place is always pretty busy and a little loud. The parking lot is a nightmare. Be very cautious while driving around the parking lot! Even if you have the right of way!

I have to say Cardenas Market in San Jacinto is the worst place to shop. If their kitchen is suppose to close at 7:30 the one would think that they will serve you up to that point. Not close it at 7, look at me and have me stand waiting for 15 minutes to tell me it’s closed. Absolutely no sense of Customer Service. Then the cook talks down to me like I am stupid! I so hate shopping at Cardenas, they are the worse!

I’ve been away for a long time. Before I left this was one of my favorite places to shop when I was in Hemet. And I’m glad to see that nothing has changed. I love the smell of this place that hits you as soon as you walk in the door. Notables of this place: 1. the extremely cheap and delicious produce 2. the wonderful assortment of Mexican candies and paletas. 3. the fresh chicarones! I love the ones with the meat still on. 4. their salsas and guacamole! 5. fresh baked breads 6. the food! Not as good as some of the local taco shops, but cheap and does in a pinch. This could easily be a one-stop shop for most people, regardless of what you’re looking for. They have all of your American products too, or the Mexican equivalents at competitive prices.

Like any other store, you have to pay close attention to pricing & quality. Some things, great, some things not so great. Looked pretty clean to me, service was«ok» not perfect, but in an imperfect world. I would go back. Prices — you really have to watch. They have specials regularly(as do all markets) & some are pretty good. I was not impressed with the quality of the meat vs. prices. It was ok, the meat looked & tasted fine on preparation, but I felt pricing was not consistent with local markets. Just my take. I’ve been there several times. Overall: Average everything.

Like the #13 market — travel there from Temecula – One thing we notice– Most grocery items cost more at Cardenas than in Stater Brothers across the street(except for fruits/vegatables. We’ve wondered why that is?

I am a Cardenas fiend. This location is smaller than other locations I have been to, but since it’s close to home I frequent it often. The bakery always has fresh conchas and other delicious pastries. The carniceros are always helpful and have pretty good produce deals. They have AMAZING augua frescas. I highly recommend the piña and fresa.

Love this place, Everything is fresh, produce is cheap as well and the meat is cheap, you can’t beat the price elsewhere, sometimes they have cucumber for 10 for $ 1.00, you can’t really go wrong with that. Go on a weekdays, it is less pack but early like at 11 or 12 =)

I love this place! They have the best meat, and the best produce around. Fresh too… and did I mention that they are way less expensive than your normal chain supermarkets. I will drive out of my way to come here, or any of the Cardenas markets for some good quality meat and produce…

Awesome place! Love the carne asada preparada and the pollo preparado here. The birria at the deli is great too!!! OMG… their fresh tortillas are so freakin good, you can eat em just like that! Fresh baked goodies are great too. The employees can be a little more friendly… the lady at the bakery took the people’s order who were behind me first. I didn’t get mad, but she was rude.

I have to give this place 5 stars, it’s like being in a different country when you walk in. Food: The food is very good and reasonably priced. Very authentic and lots to chose from. Groceries: Lots of stuff you wont find at stater brothers but a good variety to chose from. Great for making authentic meals. The prices are very good and they always have sales. Don’t forget to check the beer section, I’ve seen a 30 of Tecate for $ 15. Staff: The staff is friendly and helpful but be warned, if you do not speak Spanish you might have a hard time understanding what’s going on and not all employees are bilingual or fluent in english… But all are friendly.

HOLYCRAP! This place is AWESOME… TONS of freshfreshfresh baked goods, foods, salsas, queso, tortillas, AND this place even makes its own strawberry yogurt! I would definitely suggest knowing spanish, since it’s the first store that I’ve ever seen have both their ingredients AND aisle signs in espanol… pero es MUY cool porque they have amazing paletas, which on this hothothot Hemet day… was very important. The strawberry, coco, pepino con chile(cucumber with chile!), rum raisin(i forget the spanish name), arroz con leche(rice pudding), and guava flavors kept me alive and cool enough not to kill everyone around me out of grouchyness. The fact that I ate that many of their popscicles makes me feel like a frozen pop connoisseur, and I was stoked to find such interesting flavors! They’ve even got freakin’ breads stuffed to the brim with cream cheese and jalapenos that I scored at three for a buck. SUPER cheap prices. GREAT selection… I’m so jealous I don’t have one of these Mexican superstores down in San Diego. OH! and if you have relatives across the border, you can TOTALLY wire them money here too. THEYHAVEEVERYTHING!!! PS. even if you’re just bored…(which in this area is extremely likely), I suggest stopping by because HOLYCRAP… you can find a TON of animal parts that are fun to examine in the meat department as well. ^_^
