*** CASHONLY *** This is one of the only four remaining Yum Cha Café(San Gabriel, South El Monte, Monterey Park, and West Covina) in the Southern California(both Westminster & Chinatown locations were closed down). Location: Inside the San Gabriel Superstore food court. Dim sum includes(but not limited to): pork shumai, chicken feet, har gow(shrimp dumplings), spare rib, duck feet & wing with oyster sauce, steamed tofu with fish, bean curd skin wrapped with chicken, sticky rice wrapped chicken, steamed fish ball, steamed beef ball, steamed golden cream bun, house special bun, steamed egg custard bun, BBQ pork bun, etc. Rice, noodle, and congee: All items are less than $ 5(without tax). You can pick either noodle or rice noodle, then follow by choosing one of the following add-on — wonton, shrimp, fish ball, beef, sliced fish, roasted duck, BBQ pork, or chicken. Rice dishes include Hainan chicken, braised pork belly with pickled vegetable, and lemongrass roasted chicken, etc. There are only three condiments on the table: soy sauce, vinegar, and red chili. Not exactly the cleanest restaurant … somehow a bird flew into the San Gabriel Superstore(see picture below). Once you are done with your food, you can leave them on the table and someone will pick the tray up. *** Steamed Chicken Feet($ 1.79): Garlic flavored chicken feet with generous portion.(3.75÷5) Steamed Spare Rib($ 1.79): I can live with this, at least it tasted pretty decent.(3.5÷5) Shrimp Har Gow($ 1.79): Tiny and dry shrimp dumplings.(2⁄5) Pork Shumai($ 1.49): Tiny portion and tasted dry & bland.(2⁄5) *** Conclusion: Yum Cha Café still offers one of the cheaper(but no longer the cheapest) dim sum in the San Gabriel Valley and its rice & noodle prices are still amazingly inexpensive. Not a bad place to visit if you are currently on a budget.

This Yum Cha Café specializes in providing Dim Sum counter service for dine in, or to go. It’s located in the San Gabriel S.G. Super Market, when you enter through the front main entry you walk down a bit then turn left before going into the supermarket grocery store, and you can’t miss it, it’s located in the far back wall area. Dishes are under $ 2 each, and you save on not necessarily having to tip either, so it’s affordable for a quick snack to stop by and eat. It’s a fairly good value, especially if you’re on a portion controlled diet and just want to eat selectively yet affordable to a budget too. In addition to Dim Sum, they also offer other food items including a BBQ area where you can get roast duck and other meats and treats by the pound as well as noodle soup, including Won Ton. Parking is easy, since it shared the lot of the S.G. Supermarket retailers.

its not too bad. The Har Gow was subpar and the fung xiao [braised chicken feet] was not very fresh. The Shrimp chow fun was okay but flavorless. The duck feet was good as was the fried shrimp balls which did not have any fillers. The restaurant dim sum is worth the extra money, but as a low wage earner, I cannot afford to spring for the extra. Fed two people with $ 15 and brought some more home for my parents. Buy it bring it home watch netflix :)

The dim sum here is decent. Not quite sit-down dim sum restaurant quality but it’s fast and cheap here at Yum Cha Café. Yum Cha is located inside the super market. They open early… dine in or take it togo. There are tons of different dim sum items ready to go. Pork siu mai was $ 1.49 per order(4 pcs) while the shrimp har gow was $ 1.79 per order. Cheap stuff, okay dim sum if you want some quick and easy and are hungry. I wouldn’t recommend this if you were taking your date or your family to eat as the food is just okay.

Cheap prices for decent food quality. I always come here when i feel like chinese noodle soup. Its cheap and affortable and the quality is ok. taste pretty good. I like their chicken noodle soup or beef noodle soup. They cut pieces of fresh whole chicken for their noodle soup. The beef is slices of meat boiled down. So I say, go try their chicken noodle soup! Lines can get long because its located inside SunFat Supermarket, next to T-mobile, Phoenix desserts.(because there is 2 entrance. Enter the place from San Gabriel Blvd, not Valley Blvd.

A go to place when you are in a rush, want Dim Sum or Noodles. Prices are hard to beat and very tasty. Love to order the Wonton noodle soup when its a cold day. Dim Sum: good variety. I always get their rice noodles with bbq pork and beef. Also, their sticky rice is good too. I always grab a dozen dumplings to go for snacks for later. Cash only. Two places I know of that I go to. When in the San Gabriel Superstore and the other in Monterey Park right beside Shun Fat Supermarket.

the worst, most incompetent, rudest staff i’ve ever had to deal with. I was trying to get a hold of someone from the West Covina location for pricing on party platters, and I kid you not, I have called yesterday and ALL day today(even checked their website, and they tell you to call for prices on catering). I have a call history to prove calling 10+ times from 11AM-4:30PM. So I decided to call their SG location, to ask if the prices are the same. She said«yes.» I ask, «what are the party platter prices?» «I DON’T KNOW.» «CALLWESTCOVINA, YOUPROBABLYCALLEDTHEWRONGNUMBER.» «OH, TRYCALLINGAGAIN.» «OH, YOU’VECALLEDALLDAY? JUSTCALLAGAIN.» «YOUWANTTOSPEAKWITHWESTCOVINA, CALLTHEM!» «. no one is answering, so. i just want to know what YOUR prices are for party platters, since you say they’re the same.» «I DON’T KNOW.» «I DON’T KNOW.» «I DON’T KNOW.» «JUSTCALLTHEMAGAIN.» WELLWHATTHEFUCKAREYOUDOINGTHERETHEN, GIVETHEPHONETOSOMEONETHATFUCKINGKNOWS? morons.

Quick Dim Sum on the go. It’s relatively cheap with prices per order between 1.50−2.00 dollars. Quality is so so and I find that it’s not seasoned all too well. It’s Siu Mai is small and boring and their Har gow uses very little shrimp and doesn’t have much flavor either. Their breads are not as soft as I would like and for the pork filling also lacking in flavor. I want to say that this place is quantity over quality but just down the street you can find dim sum for the same price but much higher quality and quantity. But those are sit down places and ordering Togo from them also takes a bit of time.

Cheap dim sum! My family comes here pretty often, every time we shop at the S.G. Superstore. Some of their items, especially noodle soups can taste very plain, but for the portions they give, I think it’s worth it, especially if most of their customers are older.

We had to drive around the shopping block looking for this place, only to find that It is located within a superstore. The food sucks, the food served was lukewarm. Taste is bleh. The only decent food i got was the bbq pork rice noodle in soup. At least the soup has pretty strong msg taste. Thanks Unilocalers for misleading me :(

CHEAP Dimsum and noodles! I got a wonton noodle soup for $ 4.39. They have a Thanksgiving special currently, $ 48 for a fully cooked turkey, plus a free sticky rice. They also have a free Sirarcha Mayo as their current promotion. Located inside the San Gabriel Superstore. Cash only. Come here to grab a quick bite for lunch for cheap!

What in sams name happened to this place? Where do I begin? Tables and chairs are filthy… pardon me mr. manager, have you ever heard of a wash cloth or a even a baby wipey? Even saw bones and food remnants on the floor. Roast BBQ Ducks have a funky smell… like the inside of a babys diaper. I wish I were kidding. What happened to their free range brown chickens… Looks like they changed the chickens to Cornish game hens or pigeons… they looked old like they were left overs from the night before… Lastly, my aunty from Tucson, went last week, and asked the server girls for an extra pack of hoisin sauce and soy sauce… they screamed at her saying it was a lot of trouble, and they don’t have time to be running around like slaves for the customers demands at every whim… GOODGRIEF… such sad and lowly lives these people live… WHYAREYOUWORKINGTHEREIFYOURLIFESUCKS… just go home and pull the effing trigger… I didn’t make your life suck… you did!!! I concur with the last reviewer… my last order there was metal shavings in the food… I normally like food with out metal or foreign objects… Another restaurant which I will never frequent again… hopefully the owner can read this… too bad if you don’t read or comprehend English bitch…

Legit dim sum as long as you’re ok with the possibility of finding foreign objects in your food. As for me… The metal shaving was the last straw. E’s mom received her wonton soup(on a different occasion) with a plastic medicine wrapper floating on top. Employees whisked it away quickly, claiming it to be an ONIONPEEL. Diners beware! We love cheap dim sum but we sadly won’t be coming here anymore. Who knows what else we’ll find in our food?!

CHEAP, CHEAP, ANDCHEAP! Dim sum about a little over a buck. Plenty of options. You can get wonton noodle soup for $ 3.99. They alsog got herbal tea which I always love to drink along with plenty of pastries options as well. This place is perfect for a quick and cheap lunch for broke and on a budget. There are also tables and chairs inside for you to sit and eat if you choose to «dine in.» You can find Yum Cha café located inside San Gabriel Superstore. CASHONLY. They aren’t the best at English but pointing will help get you through the ordering process.

For someone who doesn’t live in the SGV area, Yum Cha Café is one of my favorite pit stops before traveling back to the OC. Honestly I could order around 4 meals worth of food for around $ 15 easily. The dim sum here isn’t spectacular but is still pretty dang cool in my opinion. The tofu+fish, shumai, rice noodles are some of my favorites here! P. S. This is located inside the market!

Sayyyy whhhhhhhhhat? You can get a Preserved Egg and Salted Pork Congee for $ 3.99 and most dim sum for $ 1.69. There was so much Preserved egg and salted pork in my congee — Not that I’m complaining but I was looking for congee to go with my Preserved Egg and salted pork. tee hee. Next time, I’ll need to get some of the fried dough to go with it. 3LARGE egg tarts for $ 1.69? Sign me up. Decent selection of Dim Sum items — especially if you don’t want to wait at the restaurants and all. Budget Friendly Cash only Can get busy at peak meal hours. Shares a busy parking lot in a busy shopping center area

Seriously the best value for authentic dim sum. $ 1.69 each for restaurant-quality. The main downside is the atmosphere, as it is located in a busy food court and shares the same large building as SG Supermarket. We ordered 5 dishes for under $ 10… seriously the best deal you can find. We had: Chicken feet — no complaints, flavorful chewy and adequately doused in sauce Chinese donut wrapped with rice paper — Donut was crispy and lightly sweet, and the fresh rice paper was very moist Chow fun — One of my favorites, a pretty basic dish if you don’t want anything too«exotic» Steamed beef tendons — chewy and had a unique flavor, one of the healthier options Steamed spareribs — here were soft pumpkin chunks in the sauce and and the spareribs were very tender

If you don’t have much time for lunch this place is the place to go. It’s located in the San Gabriel Superstore and there is plenty of parking. The dim sum here is pretty decent and plus there is hardly a line. It is cheap and the quality is pretty good for what you pay for.

I was in the mood for dim sum but didn’t want to sit down at a restaurant. This place seemed like a good idea for some to go dim sum. Prices are cheap around 1.40 to 1.70 for basic dim sum dishes. Shu Mai was sooo bland and the color was a funky pale color. Sticky rice with chicken wrapped in leaves was just mediocre. There are so many dim sum places in 626. Next time I would just go to a restaurant and order to go from there.

«Panda Express of Authentic Chinese Food Yum Cha Café is where you can find the cheapest dim sum, Cantonese bbq and Hainan chicken in San Gabriel Valley. Hainan Chicken $ 5 Do not expect the quality to beat Savory Chicken, but they do give you good portions of chicken, vegetables, and rice. The chicken is served with all of the bones and skins, and the meat is marinated but very oily, which gives the rice its flavor. You get what you pay for here as I mentioned, but always check the portions they give you, because they sometimes try to cheat you and give you fewer pieces. If you are hungry and don’t want to pay close to $ 10 at Savory and other places for the Hainan Chicken, give this place a try. Just don’t expect to get the same quality. Their duck is among the best that cantonese bbq offer in the area, it got more flavor than the Sam Woo one.
