I came here to do some work one evening, and found Au79 as one of the more quieter tea shops. If you get an entrée, you can add on a drink for a dollar. Unfortunately, the entrees are pretty subpar. We tried the Taiwanese spaghetti(very under seasoned) and the stewed beef on rice. The beef on rice is essentially the soup and meat from beef noodle soup but served with rice. The drinks were also really subpar. I don’t know what happened, but the milk teas had no tea flavor to them. The drinks also took way too long to come out. Essentially, the drinks arrived halfway through finishing the food. It didn’t get busy until around 9:30PM.

I only come here when I have TIME because they do take a while to make drinks. What I usually order: Strawberry Green Tea with PINK Boba!(Sometimes, it’s too sweet, so I’d recommend less sugar.) And Milk Tea with regular Boba! Depends on what I’m craving. Their drinks are a bit on the pricy side… but I guess it’s worth it for me. I’ll be honest, I can’t find a better place to beat their Strawberry Green Tea.(Even though it takes them FOREVER to make. Literally 10 min+ wait.) Customer Service varies… afternoon and night are VERY different experiences for me. I don’t know which to recommend though… In the morning, you would be dealing with employees with rude attitude(the reason why I don’t go in the afternoon anymore) and at night, you would be dealing with the wait. It all depends on the person. I can’t handle when I get a bad customer service because it kills my mood easily. I rather just wait. But like I said, I only come here when I have the time to wait.

Overpriced and drinks are waaaay too sweet. I was also forced to leave my seat OUTSIDE of the building because I was eating tacos and drinking the overly sweetened and expensive drink I waited 15 minutes for. I was literally sitting at a table right next to Phoenix and they kicked me out. Seriously? It wasn’t even busy. And the only stomach pain I’d get is from all the sugar inside my drink.

Alright, I officially deem AU79 and all its locations, my favorite boba place. The drinks are consistent and not overly sweet. I love the royal milk tea here. Plus, the pink boba is fantastic. Always fresh and hot with the perfect consistency. Good and quick service. Some locations have a free upgrade if you get your drink to go. I can’t pass that up. Loooove it!

I’m rewriting this review bc Unilocal had it deleted due to the content. If this review does not stick, I have no choice but to believe the rumors of companies paying for removing below avg reviews. And I will not give up. Tried their passionfruit green tea and shaved ice. It was just typical and nothing special. The tea had alot of foam which was a bit odd. One good thing is that they have servers taking orders and they bring you the food. Also they have some confusing refill offers. But i won’t be back bc of their bathroom! If your bathroom are filthy, I will assume your kitchen is too! DISGUSTING! I am traumatized for life! And now I can officially say that ppl in this area do not know how to use a toilet or have any common decency to clean up after themselves! And the businesses are equally at fault for not cleaning up after your customers!!!

10% off certain to-go drinks like mango green tea $ 3.15 reg size. Noticed around 6 seats good for wifi junkies to set up and study with an extended outlet. Café food like lunch special of sausage and rice $ 7.50. Also free upgrade on certain drinks like house fruit(Hawaiian) tea $ 5. Large café location next to grocery store. Decent taiwanese café food, and pretty tasty drinks. Been here a couple times years ago but its on the other side of SGV for me. And if you know SGV, its full of great tea shos. Wifi Junkie: Lot of seats to study, wifi, work. Good amount of tables and bar seats with outlets. Drinks range around $ 3.75+. Doesn’t get too packed. However, the wifi is okay to slow speed. Spacious café with decent food, and great drinks. Food: Recommend the combo deal with a free dink. The Pork Belly dish is pretty good, with lettuce, rice, egg & tomato, steam veggies, sauce. Free drink is either a LARGE hot or iced green tea, black tea, or oolong tea. Their AU79 tea is just normal tea. Favorite drink is the honey green tea, ¼ sweeten. Recommend anything ¼ sweeten unless you like it super sweet. Service: Staff are super nice. They take phone calls for food & drinks to go. Plenty of parking. However since its shared with the grocery store and other small shops, there most likely will be a walk. Not impossible to find. Rewards Card — Cost $ 1 to activate and then can get points. Probably not worth it unless you come here alot?

AU is the place to be for boba if you’re ever in the San Gabriel area! I’ve only done takeout with them several times but I haven’t had a bad experience just yet. What’s great about AU is you can adjust the sweetness unlike other boba places with the standard sweet amount. I definitely recommend trying the pink boba. The first time I heard about it, I thought it was strangeee. Trying and absolutely falling in love with it, pink boba is my new addiction. Workers are always kind and polite. Reading other reviewers about the wait for their drink, I haven’t experienced a long wait. I came in Friday night 8:15-ish and my drink was ready within 5 minutes.

I like going to AU as a meet up spot with a bunch of friends. My friends and I like to go their to grab a quick boba too! Their boba is fairly decent, and so is their food. AU is really spacious and has a lot of room: great for meet ups and hanging out with friends. Sometimes my friends and I like to come here and have a study sesh. It closes at a later hour which is pretty convenient when we want boba at night time! AU is definitely a go-to spot, and I would recommend it to anyone :)

I had a drink from a friend the other day. That rose black tea was bomb! So I decided to eat in one day. The meal were just okay, beef noodle was kinda spicy and salty but the curry with rice my mom ordered was fine.

I was just discussing my hierarchy of boba shops, and Au79 continues to be in the top echelon. My basic breakdown is as follows: Below 3 stars: Places that use pre-mixed powder milk tea. This is pretty much any place that doesn’t specialize in boba, which means the boba are also sitting around and usually too chewy. Also any place where milk tea is dirt cheap. Guess what? Dirt’s cheap! 3 – 4: Better tea and more consistent boba. They may have pre-mix for the basics but at least know how to make a decently tasty drink and keep their balls relatively fresh. Nevertheless the sugar/creamer usually overpowers the tea. Lollicup, Coco, 85C. 4 – 5: Shops that offer specialty tea and are usually busy enough that fresh boba is cycling through at all times. They often modify the boba syrup in some way as well to make them softer and tastier. Hand-shaken prep also prevails, and you can modify sweetener(which I always cut in half). Tenren, Half & Half, Au79. For once I actually ordered a non-boba drink, the High Mountain Tea 高山茶, and it was excellent. They also kept my pot filled with hot water and even offered me the leftovers to-go. This is why you pay more for places that have good tea!

I love this place but Jesus do they take forever to make their drinks(–1 star). Expect to wait about 15 minutes for your drink. Their drinks are also normally extremely sweet(–1). Perfection is half sweetened!(I don’t have that big of a sweet tooth FYI) the tea quality was really good and definitely among the better ones in the SGV. I like the pink boba. It’s chewy, soft and drenched in syrup/honey so it tastes amazing. Overall I recommend this place if you wanna chill late at night. Otherwise, get ready to wait a long ass time for your drink.

5 stars for the Boba Milk Tea!!! Yummmmmmm! The boba here is the softest and the chewiest. They probably make the best boba in the 626. I ordered 2 boba milk teas and was given a free upgrade on the size. Thank you for that. 3 stars for the cashier. The reason why I’m knocking off 2 stars is because the cashier didn’t bother giving me my change. First of all, he mumbled the whole time so it was very hard to understand him. I didn’t even know I got a promotion upgrade until I looked at my receipt. When I was giving him my cash, he asked me for some coins so he wouldn’t have to refund me coins. I agreed and gave him some coins, but when it came time to giving me change, he handed me my receipt without my change. He then proceeded to walk away, but I stopped him and asked him about my change. He then looked dumbfounded and I’m like… «Look, if you want some tip money, I’ll give you tip money, but you still need to give me my change.» He was hesitant and I’m not sure if it’s because he realized he made a mistake or because he realized he got caught. He then gave me my change then I proceeded to tell him(in the nicest tone) that if he’s going to be handling money and working at the front, he needs to speak clearly to all customers and handle money carefully. He said«sorry. Okay» and walked outside to hangout with his friends. I put all the change in the tip jar, got my drinks, and left. I really like the boba here so I will keep on returning for it. I just know now to be more careful when I hand over my money.

I go here so often that I can’t believe I have not written a review for this place! I love this boba teahouse so much I have no clue where to start. Well, first of all, this is my all time favorite boba place in the entire 626 areacode. What other boba place serves pink boba!!!(If you have not tried their boba, go try it now!) What makes pink boba different from regular boba? It’s softer than regular boba and stays soft for the rest of the day! Regular boba might be soft when it’s freshly cooked, but it tends to harden throughout the day. With pink boba, it’s different. Sometimes I would order a peach green tea quarter sugar with pink boba, and take like 4 hours to finish my drink. During the entire 4 hours, my pink boba would still taste as yummy as my first sip! So what drinks do I usually order? I’m actually lactose intolerant so I usually order non-milky drinks such as peach green tea or lychee black tea, and I always top it off with their infamous pink boba! Fair warning: their drinks can be extremely sweet when it comes to their flavored teas, so I like to get quarter sugar.

There’s nothing alarmingly negative about this place, but basically, drinks here are pretty pricey, and MUCH too sweet for probably 90% of the boba-consuming population. I ordered my mango green tea half sweet, and it’s still comparable to the regular sweetness of a comparable drink elsewhere. I do like that this location is open late though! It’s also very spacious inside with plenty of tables, so it’s a good place to come and hang out with a group of friends. After my experience, I can see why people like it here, but I’ve definitely had better boba that I’d rather spend my money on.

I’ve been here a few times with my girlfriends, and the service and drinks consistently are on point. I really like the milk green tea drinks at this AU79, particularly because you can get different combinations of flavors. The last time that I went here, I ordered a strawberry & mint milk green tea with little sugar, and it was really good. I also like the free wi-fi and the big flat screen TV.

One of the main reasons why I used to come here was that if you got a drink to-go, they would automatically upgrade it to the larger size for you, but I don’t believe they do that anymore. I came in and ordered a Peach Green Tea w/¼ sugar and pink boba, and asked if they still did the upgrade if I got it to-go and the lady said no. Their new promotion is that if you show them your ID you can get the upgrade on certain drinks(the Black/Green teas and milk teas). The tea itself was alright, nothing special. Hope they keep the promotion though!

I hung out at this Teahouse last weekend with friends, and we really enjoyed ourselves and our boba teas, of which AU79 offers a wide selection. You also can order the teas without boba and hot instead of cold. The wi-fi is free and fairly powerful, too. So, I could see how it would be relatively easy to work and study, although the Chinese teenagers and young adults some times can get loud playing cards.

Usually when every other boba shop is close and I’m in need of my boba fix AU79 is always there for me. Depending on which day you come this place is usually packed with people studying and hanging out. My favorite thing to get here is the oolong milk tea with pink boba. Never get the black boba always pink! There no difference but it’s cuter! In addition, if your a student bring your student id and they will give you a additional discounts. Being Asian I love my discounts!

I live in Buena Park, but we come all the way here to play board games and drink this tea! No other place offers passionfruit conjac jelly — and it’s my go to topping. Typical drinks I get are plum green tea with passionfruit conjac or peppermint milk tea with soy. I also disagree with a reviewer who states that they overdo the ice on cold drinks. I don’t find that the case. If staying in, refills are half off. Not on the toppings, but half off nonetheless. They also have large tables that accommodate 6+ people. Before they had this terrible policy where we had to order a drink every 2 hours, so it really wasn’t that good to stay here for too long. We play games on average 7+ hours at a time, so imagine how much that would cost per person, when other places let you stay for a long time without charging. But it seems like they no longer have that policy, or they no longer enforce it, which has been great. The food menu is your typical Taiwanese fare. I usually get their tea seasoned eggs or their squid balls. Not the greatest place to order food, just because the selection has few vegetarian options. But if you’re playing games for hours, you can get away with ordering their meals and feeling satisfied.

After dinner in the area, we walked over to this cute internet café for some yummy milk teas. The clientele is made up mostly of young Chinese college kids who play cards and work/play on their computers via the free internet provided by AU79. We did not try the food, but we enjoyed our milk teas. The service is good, but we could see that our servers were slammed with orders. So, if you are in a big rush to get food or drinks, don’t come here during peak hours.

The only drink I truly like from AU79 is their GMT with Boba because the GMT is extremely fragrant. But I do not like the creamer/milk they use. It leaves a starchy aftertaste. Though AU was one of the first few stores that started the colored boba craze, the pink boba honestly does not taste different from regular boba. Their soymilk drinks are pretty decent too but I am not a fan of spending $ 4 on a cup of soymilk. Prices have went up recently, as is with many other tea places. Staff can be a hit or miss. Best way to get their attention sometimes is to simply speak in Chinese. That is really all I can offer up as advice for how to get better service. There is a lack of power outlets, so if you intend to come do some work, come early so you can hog the seats near the outlets. Occasionally, a stray orange cat comes by to beg for scraps from the customers walking in and out. Half a star for that cutie!

With so many different options around SGV, I would recommend this one! My all time favorites would have to be their green milk tea or mango green tea, definitely some of the best drinks I have ever had. Their boba is a fun shade of pink and has the perfect texture: soft & the right amount of chewiness. Their service is kind of a hit-or-miss but if you go at random times during the day, there shouldn’t be a problem. The only downside is that they keep raising their prices. :( Tip: they offer free upgrades or 10% off certain drinks so be sure to ask ahead of time!

This is a chill place to hang with friends and play games. I did to go cuz I just wanted the bobes and I got the classic oolong or something and got a free upgrade to large. It is just their policy I guess which is fine with me. I got the pink boba because who wouldnt want that and it tastes exactly like the black pearls. You can choose your ice and sweetness and milk level I believe which is cool. I enjoyed my boba.

I came for a quick boba fix. And to my surprise, it’s the first place I’ve ever seen pink colored boba !! Pink is my favorite color. ^^ At first, I thought the boba wouldn’t be tapioca because of its color. I thought it would be this dumb popping liquid«boba» that I saw in a shop in Pittsburgh. To my surprise, it wasn’t. It’s like normal boba. Chewy and delicious. A little softer than typical boba but still very good. The milk tea flavors are good too. The almond tasted great. Honey milk tea tasted kinda like normal milk tea tbh but it was still tasty. I also like that they keep the ice ratio just right. Come check this place out to spice up your usual boba drinking habits.

The wifi was slow and there was only one table that had access to the extension cord to plug in your devices. Still, I managed to spend 5 hours here just hanging out with my friends and discussing school work. All the while, I snacked on the crispy fried calamari and sweet black tea. The food was delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. The environment is clean. I would totally come back.

Meh it’s alright. Pros: Prices are similar with the variety of the other boba places around SGV. Drinks are decent, boba is decent. It’s nothing to rave about. Nice staff. Lots of choices to choose from for food and drinks. Cons: Lots of smokers. can get pretty crowded. Sometimes it takes a while to get your drink. nothing really exceptional. Smoothies suck as usual with a lot of these boba places. Syrups for days. go to Jamba juice or juice it up for your smoothie fix. Bottom line: Get your boba fix here, but don’t have high expectations and you’ll be fine.

A friend and I decided to get our drinks to-go so we ordered at the cash register. I got the green milk tea with pink boba. My friend got the milk tea with pink boba. I didn’t like how the lady who took our orders didn’t ask me what size I wanted and just assumed I wanted a large. There’s a 10% off discount if you get the smaller size. We didn’t have to wait long to get our drinks. I love how it comes with a cup sleeve. Most of the bubble tea places I’ve been to don’t do that. The tea was delicious! Definitely one of the best I’ve ever had! The pink boba was even better! It was the perfect texture that’s really hard to find. Definitely recommend their pink boba!

Not the best tasting tea spot in SGV but I do come back for specific drinks here after badminton games. The fact that the place is crowded outside with smokers and their wait times are long for drinks, pushed me to lower the rating here. The smoking you can get by, any Asian spot has smokers hanging out from time to time, but their wait time is ridiculous sometimes. Don’t even ask me on the food, worst… The drinks I do like coming back for are their Coconut Black tea, Rose milk tea and Grapefruit Plum Green Tea. I always order my drinks half sweet(not too fond of over sweet drinks). The coconut black tea is refreshing, tastes pretty good. The Rose milk tea does have that floral or herbal taste that I like. Doesn’t taste all powder like some other spots I been to. The Grapefruit plum green tea is actually interesting because you have chunks of grapefruits and plums in the drink! I’m a bitter, sour taste guy so this is perfect on a hot day. Good substitute for boba. The food isn’t all that great. The wait takes foooooorrrrrreeeeevvvvvveeeerrrrr. Sometimes to flag a server is a bust too. They are busy or sometimes choose to ignore you because they are not your original server. Tried their fried tofu and their grilled mushrooms. The mushrooms are actually good. I’m guessing they marinate them and grill them. The fried tofu taste like any other fried tofu. The portions are smaller than other spots I’ve been to. Overall, good to come for specific drinks, TOGO. Used to be a smoker but I can’t stand that smell anymore and being outside sometimes drinking and hanging out is a bust. Recommendation? I would go to Tea Station or Le Abre Tea House.

I was in the area so I check up on Unilocal and they said this was a really cool hang out spot. Uh no! But it didn’t matter because I wanted to try the rose milk tea upon hearing that it has this unique aroma and tasted like a rose(don’t know what I was thinking). The store is located inside a complex with a supermarket and everything about the place seemed a bit ghetto(which made me feel at home lol). There was a lot of seats inside the place though not a lot outside. I placed an order for the rose milk tea totally about 4plus bucks. The drink came out relatively quick and I was pretty excited for it. And then I drank it. The milk tea was really bland and tasted extremely watered down. However, it did have the smell of a rose and tasted like a flower(but thats not good at all and I was not expecting that). I might have enjoyed it better though if the milk tea was a bit more sweet and delicious instead of being so bland. For the price it was and how it tasted I probably won’t return. PS service was pretty cool. The guy who took my order was very kind and friendly. The short chick that brought out my drink wasn’t…
