The lunch special is a great offer! For $ 12.95 you get salad or soup, an entrée, and a drink. I got the Vegetable Ravioli Soup and it was a good appetizer. It comes with mixed veggies and one Ravioli with a flavorful soup base. For my entrée, I got the Chicken Ravioli. It was not bad, but was a bit too salty for my tastes. Portions are great, I was full and took some of the Chicken Ravioli to-go. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive. They gave us great customer service and checked up on us multiple times! We sat on the outdoor patio and they didn’t forget us! We didn’t even have to ask for the check, they saw that we were finished and brought us the check! Overall, I wouldn’t mind coming back if I’m in the mood for some Italian food. Will probably get a different pasta, I just prefer pasta more than pizza when it’s an option!

After enjoying the amazing value of the weekday lunch specials several times, I decided to host the annual appreciation luncheon for volunteers at my church at Pizza Place Ca. It was disappointing that we were not able to get the lunch special prices on a Sunday afternoon, but Silvio worked out a fairly reasonable menu and price for us. The patio feels festive on a summer afternoon. The guests felt appreciated and had a good time. The wait staff was attentive, and the food was tasty. Just had lunch here today and remembered it might be helpful to leave a review for potential party planners.

I usually do not write reviews, but I had to this time! Their calm chowder is to die for. Honestly the best I’ve ever had. Everything I ordered was amazing. Their pizzas are incredible and crispy. I am and will definitely come back for sure! No hesitations or doubts whatsoever. Their staff were so polite, adorable, and just all around warm. All in all, this place was perfect for dinner!

Still doing their Thang for over 15 years. From my childhood to adult hood. They do what all restaurants in the 626 that thrive. Good food. Good portion. Good price. Love this gem.

I ate lunch at Pizza Place California in San Gabriel, CA on 11/29/2015. I’ve eaten here many times before. This time there were two of us and we both had their Grilled Salmon Combo lunch special($ 12.45 each) so the bill was $ 25.90 less tax and tip. Raphael, or server, did a fine job. Plus, I took photos.

We booked their outdoor patio for a baby shower. It’s a cute restaurant with a slight rustic feel in a quiet vintage part of San Gabriel. Staff was attentive and management was very accommodating to our needs. We had different salad choices for our appetizers. Entrée selections were between either a salmon dish or a steak dish. No complaints from me about any of it. I would love to come back here to try out their regular menu. As far as using this place for a special occasion, I would recommend it. Especially the outdoor setting!

I try their special lunch menus, it is amazing. The set menu is included: salad or soup + entrée + a drink and it only cost $ 12.95. It is a great deal and great food. I highly recommend it!

We have been going to this place since it was just a stand on the corner of Las Tunas Blvd. and Santa Anita Avenue… more than 20 years ago. The food has always been good with excellent service and reasonable prices. I love it because it is a local hometown secret where we can walk to and walk home from… the waiters have been the same people for at least 15 years and we have gotten to know very well!

First time here for a girls day out! I was impressed with their service and their food. Their garlic bread was delicious. I ordered the fusilli pasta and tomato soup. The food was great and will be coming back soon.

Came here for the first time having driven by countless times because we had a Groupon. The food was pretty good. They have us free garlic rolls. Which are awesome. We ordered the smoked chicken salad and lasagna. The lasagna was decent and the salad was really good. The Salad was a good size and there was a lot of chicken in it. Service was good and food took a little bit of time but it was a Saturday night. Would come back to try out more of menu.

My build-your-own pizza was very tasty, 5 stars(see photo). The house salad was ok and the service was lacking.

Had dinner here tonight and was pleasantly surprised. The food tasted pretty good… Garlic rolls were yummy and pastas had very rich cheesy flavor. Priced pretty reasonably and the portions were also very generous. Service was good… the people were very attentive and our drinks were filled quickly. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

This is a nice Italian restaurant located between the café Love to Go and Mission 261 restaurant. It’s also across the street from the San Gabriel MIssion Playhouse. Street parking is available(and free!), but this place has their own private parking lot, which is a total plus. There are plenty of tables indoors and out, but I decided to sit outside even though the weather was rather gloomy. I came at a rather odd time to dine, but my server was very courteous and said I could choose from their Early Bird Dinner choices(usually available 4:30 — 6:00 pm). Awesome! Garlic rolls — These complimentary appetizers were so tasty! Perfect amount of garlic and herbs. Enjoy them while they’re still warm, because once cold they take more effort to chew. Clam chowder — My server recommended the chowder over the vegetable soup and I’m happy to have gone with his suggestion. There were bits of carrot, which added a very pleasant color and sweetness to this creamy concoction. It was also sprinkled with some cheesy croutons to add extra flavor and texture. Grilled fresh salmon with an orange basil sauce — I kind of chose this dish because of the sauce. Unfortunately though, the sauce was too mild for my liking. Personally, I think it needs more of the orange flavor. I liked the fact that they used fresh basil leaves. Maybe seasoning the salmon a bit more wouldn’t have hurt too. This entrée came with a generous serving of mashed potatoes as well as a selection of steamed veggies: asparagus, broccoli, baby carrots, and yellow squash. Mango and raspberry sorbet — Now, THIS was the real winner for me. Freshly made-on-the-house fruit sorbet! The light dessert was the perfect end to my meal. I would definitely come back to this restaurant to have the sorbet again. The mango and raspberry flavors mix so well together, my taste buds were absolutely delighted. Good service during my dining experience. This place specializes in pizza, but give their other dishes a try. My server confirmed that their sorbet AND tiramisu is homemade. I would have gone for the tiramisu if I wasn’t so stuffed from the rolls, chowder, and my entrée dish, but I am still supremely satisfied with the sorbet. :)

Pass by this restaurant all the time, finally get a chance to try it, and it is not a bad choice the server suggested their pasta special Cioppino Seafood Stew, the portion is HUGH, and taste very good, seafood is fresh and the linguini is just cooked to perfect. Lobster Bisque is a little too salty, and the bread is too hard. they play some Italian opera in the background… sorry I am not very civilized… it’s a bit noisy to me… Price is between $$ and $$$

The tequila chicken fettuccine and chicken florentine were awesome. We usually hit it up after church and it is always a short wait before we devour the food. Servers are very courteous and attentive with all of our pasta needs. The patio is a nice spot to have dinner on a warm evening. If it is a little chilly, they have overhead heaters that will make it comfortable to enjoy your dinner/lunch. Lots of street parking and a large free parking lot behind the restaurant. This area of San Gabriel is very quiet and quaint. The mission area is very welcoming, unless you are a native american and someone decides that you need to be converted. That is a whole other story. Keep on Unilocaling

This place was just alright. We ate here on a Sunday night for dinner. FOOD: They give you free garlic bread like the majority of Italian restaurants. I ordered the meat lasagna and it was decent. My boyfriend and his brother made their own pizza with pepperoni, sausage and beef. They said the pizza was okay but the beef made it really salty. SERVICE: Friendly. SETTING: Okay this is the bad part about the restaurant. The restaurant leaves its doors open at night so like other reviewers before me, we saw plenty of gnats flying around. It got pretty annoying since we had to keep waving them away. LOCATION: It’s located right next to Love to Go. Overall, this place was just average. I probably wouldn’t come back because of the bugs.

I’ve lived around this area for a long time, and I’ve never known this place even existed. I really encourage anyone to sit outside(given a nice California day). You can see parts of the San Gabriel Mission. I went on a week night and there was only one server. It didn’t seem like a problem until the tables started getting full. Not his fault. Management should have had at least one more server. Their garlic bread(complimentary) is a hit or miss. Our first batch was horrible; hard and pretty difficult to eat. Our second batch was awesome; soft and fluffy. PPC Bomber($ 17.50 — Medium) Sausage, prosciutto, gorgonzola. This pizza was more than enough for two people, especially with an appetizer. If you love meat like I do, this is the pizza for you. Huge chunks of sausage, nice hint of prosciutto, and how can you forget that gorgonzola? Calamari Fritti($ 9.95) Pretty good, but way too big. I don’t recommend getting this unless you’re sharing with at least four people. Because if you get this with just two(like we did), there was no room left for entrees.

[ Service ] AMAZING! Super nice staff and our waitress was extra sweet and friendly. We came in at 6:20pm and missed the cut off for the Early Dinner special by 20 minutes but she gave it to us anyways. It was a couple dollars off from the dinner price but it comes with soup or salad and a dessert(tiramisu or sobert)! [ Food ] We ordered: steamed mussels, steamed calms, the grilled ribeye steak, and a medium half PPC Bomber and half Seafood pizza. My favorite item was probably the steamed calms because of the light sauce and the fluffy pizza dough on top. My boyfriend loved the steamed mussels. They’re made with smokey chorizo and a touch of saffron. The pizza was okay. The crust was nice and crunchy but the seafood pizza was a little plain. The steak was cooked very well and served with a nice but very peppery sauce. And for dessert we had their Tiramisu. It was fantasic! The cream was not too heavy and the lady fingers weren’t too bitter. Second favorite part of everyone’s dinner! The food was really good. Not too greasy, not too salty, not too creamy but juuuuust right! [ Atmosphere ] We sat outside on a calm Sunday evening right around sunset. It was absolutely beautiful. They softly played songs from Frank Sinatra and Michael Buble and with the back drop of the San Gabriel Mission makes it seem like you’re outside of the 626. They also have TVs inside and outside so I can imagine it would also make for a fun sunday football place too(especially since they also have pizza and beer)! My only complaint is that it’s a little pricey but I guess that’s the trade off for good food and good atmosphere. Overall we real it enjoyed it and definitely recommend it to all!
