Came here because of reviews. Belinda is truly nice. I normally have anxiety when I’m dealing with hairdressers but Belinda was very calm and very nice. I would definitely recommend her!

I have had Vanessa cut my hair for the past decade. I moved to the Bay area 5 years ago and I only wait till I’m in LA to cut my hair. She can take same day appointments and she is super friendly and nice. She cuts hair well too! (which is the most important thing!) I would highly recommend coming here for a nice cut!

I just got a straight perm by Belinda on Monday. She usually doesn’t even work on Mondays but she came in just because of me! (I know I’m special, you don’t have to tell me). Anyway, I called 7 different places and her price was the second lowest. I decided to go with her because of the existing reviews and also because she sounded very professional on the phone.
The reason that the price is low is because of low overhead so make sure you don’t expect to walk into a high-​end salon. But at least all of the work is done by her, not some teenage assistants. Except for the customer she was finishing up when I arrived, she didn’t work on anyone else the whole 4 hours I was there. We chatted (in Mandarin) about all aspects of life. I didn’t even get a chance to read the magazine I had brought.
I think the hair turned out great. The only reason I’m reserving the last star is because the bangs were also permed and it’s permanently set in a slightly less-​than-​ideal position. But a little bit of water and combing takes care of that.

Ask for Belinda. She definitely has the creds and technique for anything you want. She’ll even give you feedback on what she thinks will work for your face type.
I had gotten a perm here when my hair was quite long and I really liked it (large waves)! She told me how to take care of it and was overall very patient. I got the friend’s deal cuz my mom had recommended me to come here and see Belinda (I guess they’re friends?). I usually trust mom’s recommendations. =)
Regardless, she does not charge very much … it is about $ 20 for the shampoo, styling and regular cut.

I’m surprised no one has reviewed this place yet. They used to be located in Rosemead (called Universal Hair Design), but relocated a few years ago. Since I have been a loyal customer for 10 years, I follow them where-​ever they go.
My hairstylist is Belinda. I noticed that she has many clients that have been with her for years. She gives the best hair cuts (and her prices are beyond reasonable ($ 20 hair cuts, including shampoo and styling after the cut!). I also get an oil treatment ($ 30 for my hair length) from her every few months and it is absolutely AMAZING. It’s like having virgin hair all over again.
Last October, Belinda did the Japanese straight perm for me ($ 125). My hair is thin so the entire process was less than 3 hours. After a few days of hating it because it was extremely flat, I was ecstatic to find perfectly straight, ready-​to-​go hair right out of the shower.
I usually go during the week, so there is rarely a wait. She is very accommodating with last minute appointments… This works great for me because I’ve spontaneously wanted to change my hair before, and Belinda can usually see me right away.
Overall, this place has great service for a great price.
