Small parking lot, so good luck with the parking. The waiter was friendly and food came at a decent time. The restaurant is also clean. I walked in with my friend for a late lunch and ordered: Salt pepper chicken wings: YUM! The skin was crispy and salty, and the inside was juicy and soft. The taste was also very good, especially for us savory sodium-lovers. Fried beef lo mein: My friend and I wanted the normal beef brisket lo mein, but we ordered the wrong one. The soup that came with the noodles was surprisingly very good… instead of normal won ton soup, it was a differently type of beef(?) soup boiled with daikon. I would say it was a bit salty though for those of you who are sensitive to sodium. The noodles were at a nice texture, but plain; just boiled with a hint of salt. Some of you might want to use soy sauce or oyster sauce to enhance the flavor. The fried beef brisket was okay. I think I had 7 – 8 pieces of fried meat. I do wish I got the normal beef brisket/tendon instead as it would have been moister. The fried part of the beef tasted like the crispy crullers, but left a strange after taste in my mouth. I’m not a big fan of fried things, and I probably would not order this again. Definitely want to try the normal beef brisket/wonton lo mein next time!

Wasn’t feeling super hungry but did feel like something warm and home-y feeling. Egg noodles in perfect broth with a few veggies. $ 3!!! I’ll be back for more. :)

Loved their HK style won ton noodle soup! Their portions are small, just like in HK, but their cheaper prices reflect that as well.

between 2.5 to 5 =( sorry as soon as we walked in… there was… an unpleasant smell that reminded me of an uncleaned bathroom… =( the décor was pretty interesting tho… wood floors looked great blue and while tiles(tho reminiscent of a bathroom… which could explain the smell…) was really nice and brigthened up the place more i had the rice noodle with shrimp balls in soup. flavor is what you’d expect… but i wasn’t a fan of the shrimp balls(really huge which was great…) there was something about the flavor that i didn’t like… soup was great tho had the mango soda… and i tasted more of the club soda water than i did the mango =( my coworkers had rice dishes which they thought were decent tho apparently«fried» does mean scrambled here. i really wanted to like this place… i love noodles… but was quite disappointed would i reccomend this restaurant? prolly not sorry =(

Went there around 10−11ish and they were getting ready to close so we were the only ones in there. First impression this place isn’t really a main entrée dinner place. More of a i’m having cravings lets get a quick snack. At first I thought portion size was small. So I got the wonton noodle soup and fried chicken wings. My friend got another noodle and fried tofu. The noodles taste typical, if anything more on the bland side. Fried chicken was asian style and it was decent. The tofu my friend got actually turned out to be tofu/fishball hybrid. Overall this place is nothing special but the service was very good, the waitress were pretty nice about everything.

Had a late lunch at Noodle Bistro. I had a wonton noodle soup and its cold sweet tea. A big piece of shrimp in every wonton. I counted about 5 good size wontons. The green vegetable was fresh. I don’t recall if I tasted MSG. Not much to say about service. My order came out correct. As most Chinese places, if you desperately need service, raise your hand. :) The sitting area was clean and comfortable. Don’t come here with more than 4 people because the dining area is small. This is not a place to impress a new date. Parking could be a problem. It has a small parking lot in the back. Once you go into your space, you’ll have to back out in reverse to get out. Well, there are plenty of street parking.

i ordered the garlic minced pork on rice with«fried egg»(which means it is scrambled), and spam and egg(«sunny up») for me and my husband. they had«raspberry soda» and things like that, so I thought I’d try it, since I saw the bottled syrup on the counter. I ordered peach, mango and raspberry, because I like variety. instead, she makes me strawberry, which is fine, i like strawberry too. each order uses a little bottle of carbonated s. pelligrino, and she uses a measuring cup for the syrups, which seems like it’s not enough because the color is so bland. anyways, i take my drinks to go put in the car and she tells me my food isn’t done. no shit. did she think i wanted to hold my phone, my keys, my wallet, the food and the drinks all at once? so i get to work and ended up giving 2 of the drinks away and i had the strawberry. guess what? there was an ant floating at the top of my drink. maybe i should’ve said something when she was pouring the wrong one, eh? the food was mediocre. the spam(it’s actually just some kind of «luncheon meat» not SPAM-brand) with egg was bland. there were some chinese greens(i should know what they are since I work at an asian joint too) along the edge, and it just wasn’t tasty. luckily for me, my husband always lets me have the order that tastes better. the minced pork plate, wasn’t exactly what i thought it was going to be, but it was an improvement from the spam. there were also chinese greens along the outer perimeter, and the scrambled eggs lined inside of the veggies. I wanted to add soy sauce to my dish but i don’t think it would have gone with it, and probably wouldn’t have improved that much. ants! in a drink! what the hell!

Lately, I’ve been working on a photo project. Portraits of cooks, chef, stove jockeys and spatula slingers. I got a chance to meet with Mr. Deng at Noodle Bistro. I’m quite the fan of noodle dishes … very simple, fun to add extras, and savory. Noodle Bistro located on the busy Valley Blvd of San Gaberiel, Little Taiwan … there are so many shops doing the street food stylings of Taipei. The owner of the shop, Mr Deng has been at the food business for about 20 years now, worked his way up and learned the various Chinese cuisines from the frontlines. Finally, this past year he was able to secure enough money to start his own shop. The broth and noodles are not over seasoned as the customer has a choice of hot chili oils and peppers /salt to flavor. It would be presumptuous for the cook to push tastes onto the customers. Ordered the shrimp wonton noodle soup, got some nice fat ones stuffed with a shrimp with pork. Not greasy /oily to chow down. Plenty of steam. This place is great for a lunch or a casual evening experience. Nearest land mark is the«Howard’s» appliance store just off Del Mar. Parking is easy on the street or the back lot. There are TVs and plenty of room with big windows. The staff and Mr Deng are easy going and make great Chinese desserts as well.

Went there for a late night snack. Ordered the $ 1.99 fishball noodle soup and a $ 3.99 plate of veggies(yu choy) with oyster sauce. The fishball noodle soup reminded me of ones served in Aberdeen(Hong Kong). The rice noodles were a little skinnier than the official version, but it had a good chew. The fishballs had great flavor and was pleasantly boncey/crunchy. The broth reminded me of dai pai dong. The bowl was not the standard American basin-size, but still hearty enough to fill up and a great value!(My waistline was thankful for the moderate portion.) The yu choy was crispy and juicy, and was enough for 4 people, or 2 little piggies like me and my boyfriend. Prices can’t be beat. Clean establishment. Services was fast and friendly.

Yes, I came during the initial promo of $ 1.99 for 4 different items(Porridge, Fishball Wonton Noodles, etc) I heard from someone that went yesterday, that that menu is no longer available, and everything is regular price. It was OK for $ 1.99, but, I am going to say not for the regular price. In addition, to the $ 1.99 items that we ordered at lunch, we ordered from the regular menu Fried Chicken Wings — nothing spectacular Fried Wonton — bleh We ordered the special drinks. All in all– the regular menu items we ordered and the special drinks… felt like we were ripped off for what we got. Special drinks were full of ICE! Appitizers were either too salty or over fried. For me, if it’s not the $ 1.99, I think I will pass.

Not really impressed with this place. Actually pretty disappointed particularly with the noodles when they call themselves Noodle Bistro. I cannot tell they are experts on noodles. PERIOD. We have been there several times and we gave this place thumbs down. First the menu has very limited selections. We ordered: 1. Wonton noodle: The wonton was just regular and the noodle was very soggy. 2. Beef flank noodle: A thick layer oil was on top of the noodle. I spent so much time getting rid of it with the spoon. Noodle was soggy. 3. Thousand-year-egg & pork porridge: Too watery and not worth mentioning. 4. Chinese donuts(that goes with the porridge): it was all stale. 4. Chinese herbal tea: They only offer two different kinds and they were both tasteless. Even though the price is comparatively cheap in some of their dishes, we are not interested to go back again.

$ 1.99 fishball noodles? I’m in! I ordered one, thinking it wouldn’t be enough to fill me so I ordered another fish filet lo mein for $ 6.50. I ate the fishball noodles and was pretty full and took the whole lo mein home. the fishball noodles is probably a 3-star. not great, but good portion and edible. the quality of the fishball is pretty good too. the quantity is enough to feed a meal. you may not be super full, but you probably won’t be too hungry. for $ 1.99? that’s a steal! service was good, drinks were not bad, got the chinese herbal tea for .99 and they were friendly. the bill took a while because they were kind of distracted. but overall, good stuff for cheap! tip: fishball noodle $ 1.99 is cheap and filling! they take credit after $ 20 favourites: cheap! do not want: slow on bill. last words: cheap and fast

In Cantonese cuisine, there are restaurants that specialize in the Holy Trifecta of carbs: «Congee, Rice, Noodles.» Noodle Bistro is one of those establishments and its menu is predominately comprised of those items. The relatively low number of reviews is surprising, given the long lines to eat here. There aren’t that many tables and just a few waitresses. You should come early/late for faster seating. My family ordered a slew of dishes for sharing. Everything was pretty generously portioned and served in deep bowls. WONTONNOODLESOUP: was really good. There were six shrimp-only wontons to a bowl, an abundance of you-choy, and broth that seemed to be really high quality. With a touch of the red vinegar, I wanted to guzzle down the soup and it didn’t give me a MSG headache. FRIEDBEEFSTEWLOMIEN. this is a spin on the more classic beef stew lo mien. To «fry» the beef stew, chunks of the beef are battered and deep fried. The noodles are served on the side, with the broth, a gravy, a hot sauce, and the deep fried beef. The broth & gravy were both beefy and flavorful but I don’t see the point in deep frying beef. We’re not at a County Fair here, folks. FISHBALLPORRIDGE. My mom loves this dish. It has homemade and handformed shrimp balls and fishballs here. The balls have good bite and there are so many of them. MINCEDBEEFPORRIDGE: this had good beefy flavor. Yum. VEGETABLES: we ordered a side dish of this because often at a «congee, rice, noodle» place, you end up having eaten an imbalanced meal. With the abundance of vegetables in the noodles themselves, this was kind of extraneous, which is a pleasant surprise! We finished with a homemade SESAMESWEETSOUP which my mom adores. I can’t tell the difference between the soup from the packaged mixes or freshly made batches so I defer to her judgment. The menu has a lot of other stuff — like chicken wings and desserts, and cooling herbal teas but I hone in on the good stuff: THECARBS!

It was hard to find the place but no matter I won’t be coming back. Service was bad, she wouldn’t even leave a teapot of hot water at our table when I requested it. The food was terrible and a rip off. Beef stew with rice noodle(chang fun) wasn’t good. The noodle was too«rough» and doughy. $ 7 for a serving size porridge and it doesn’t come with a side dish like many other places! Lo mein… I don’t like it just because…

Not bad actually… this place is not very eye catching besides the sign outside, but I didn’t really think much of it driving by it nearly every weekend on my way hunting for some good food. Anyhow, my wife and her friend decided to eat here one day and to my surprise, not bad at all. Only thing, stay away from the rice… it’s in the name«NOODLEBISTRO», aka… we specialize in noodles… I warned you. good luck.

Saw something new lots of people waiting capacity 45 or 65 ? Anyway, new nice contemporary, clean and very inexpensive from porridge, noodle soup, lo mein and rice plates. But nothing special we ordered –Shrimp wonton egg noodle soup– base was plain wonton had whole shrimps not diced not much veggie –Shrimp wonton lo mein exactly the same as above except no soup. –Crispy chicken wing with fried egg and steam rice wings were tasty coating but inside still had blood Services were nice and efficient waitress came took our uncooked crispy chicken wings and gave us new cooked ones. 3stars means it’s okay for me, but might not return. Nothing was special or to oooooo about

My rule is, if you are naming yourself a steak house, you better have good steaks. If you sell boba, your balls better be the best out there. If your named after something, you better specialize in that name. you get the idea. Noodle Bistro! I was expecting good noodles/soup up to par. The bar is high. Naming yourself«noodles» must mean you got some mean tasting noodles. But sadly no. where did YUME go? Yume was one of my favorite restaurants. people said the quality went down, but I loved it when they were still good I guess. Noodle bistro needs to go. sorry but it was not satisfying to me at all. I get better tasting noodle soups at local cafes around. Really. And for the same price else where, you get more. The upside about this place, is the damn good service the waitress put out. Their chicken wings are pretty shizzle good as well. Congee was a fail. Maybe it will be better next time(if there is for me) but it was too thick when I had it. the texture was too thick and sticky. FAIL. I hope they do something about it because it’s not working for me at least…

If you miss Wonton Forest just like me, you should try Noodle Bistro. Their noodles and wontons are really good. They also have the dried noodles with wonton plus a side of soup. My husband and I actually went there twice already. Tried their fried Wonton, its delicious! Its usually packed during lunch hours on the weekends.
