Really enjoyed the prices at this location. Finally, drinks that are tasty, not overly sweet with fresh ingredients at really fair prices. Even though there’s only one size for the beverages, it’s still great for what you pay. Same boba as the other half and half’s. I asked if the taro and grass jelly were canned but surprisingly they said everything was made fresh each day. Got the iced milk with taro and boba and really enjoyed it. The honey boba was delicious and warm as usual like the other half and half locations and the taro was a nice consistency. The downfall of this place is it’s hours. I was told it was closed at times when it said that it was open. This location serves limited food items which looked delicious as well but of course, small portions and small prices. I would definitely come more often if they were open longer hours, they do break in the afternoon and reopen in the late afternoon til I believe 8pm. Service was really kind and quick… I’ll be back for more!

The spicy tofu with pork blood sausage is very flavorful, it’s not stinky tofu though. The set meal includes 1 drink(up to $ 1.88), 1 selected rice or noodle entrée, and a soup. For $ 8.88, it’s reasonable. I got honey milk green tea and my husband got coffee milk tea. Both are pretty good for $ 1.88 each. The service is attentive. One star off for the business hours — they’re only open on Thurs, Fri, and Sat.

Half and half good old time does such a great job creating the vibe and the atmosphere of a traditional small Taiwanese restaurant. I approved ! The chairs, the table, the hanging wood signs that has some items names on it… they are all super duper authentic! I’m so lucky I get to eat in a restaurant like this when I am far away from home . The price is cheap compare to other Taiwanese restaurants! The milk tea is only $ 1.99. Because of the cheaper price, I also get to order different dishes to try out. Everything was very decent and pretty on point ! My turkey rice was awesome with a spoonful of garlic. The turnip cake with egg was WOW. The spicy tofu, intestines, and rice cake was great too. The only thing I am not happy about was the drink. I ordered the good old time tea with fresh milk, and it was too light for me. It doesn’t have much taste, that’s why I took a star off. I will definitely come back to have some more authentic Taiwanese food inside my tummy !

loved my jasmine milk tea and their waffle! it’s really hard to find this taiwanese style waffle in LA since usually it’s hk style. so i’m really happy that they have it! the place is kinda small but it wasn’t crowded when i go. it’s also located in a plaza so parking was easy.

Awesome new«Half & Half» on Las Tunas, although I really wouldn’t consider it another Half and Half since this place is more of a restaurant than a boba stop. That being said, I think this place really gives surrounding restaurants and boba shops both a run for their money. The drinks are smaller than your average Half and Half cup, but to me that’s a win win, you get less diabetes, get to taste the delicious shaved milk and honey boba, and you see some money as well. I got the $ 8.88 combo, which came with soup, noodles, and a drink and it was amazing! I’ll definitely be back here and will write a more comprehensive review when I do!

The food’s good, but I think I’ve had better. Service is better than I expected though, and the servers are English-speaking, so that’s good! The furniture, specifically chairs, remind me of Taiwan. Almost forgot about them until I saw them and a rush of familiarity hit me. Same thing with the utensils, specifically the spoons, took me back to eating out at the street vendors in Taiwan. Really liked their caramel milk tea with honey boba. And to my surprise, their corn chowder. I typically don’t like my food that is not in form of desserts sweet, but I really enjoyed this corn chowder.

Definitely can use improvements in the way the owner runs things. Common sense, do unto others”-how would you feel if after your order you’re «kicked outside”(insert polite way of saying ‘kicked out’ HERE___) in 106 degree heat, to wait for your order where inside it’s completely empty and cool. There was no one inside seated. The place was empty. Wow. LOL. It makes first-time customers feel isolated, disconnected, and shoved away right off the bat. But wait, not only do we have to comply with this unorthodox(I get it-it’s a small place, etc.) policy, but they also don’t accept credit card«CASHONLY!» Is this the 1950’s? That $ 5 cash I used to pay for the drink would had been the tip I left for the service. The owners should start to accept credit card for the employees sake, this will mean more tips for them: customers would be able to leave tips on the card, and use their scarce hard cash for tips. It’s just a quick phone call to one of the many credit card processing companies for a free POS(point of sale) unit that can process cards for no charge. Even Vape stores at least use Square/iPhone processing… Giving it 5-stars because it’s not another Starbucks at least and hoping that the owner/manager will read this, make changes and at least respect that. At least Starbucks makes things more ‘personal’ – what do I mean by that? They at least write your name on the cups, and call your name instead of just giving a number on a receipt. Do you want to keep up with technology? Improve, advance, become stronger, and most of all respect. I don’t get your policies. I hope you improve. Good day.

The owners of Half & Half really nailed it with their spinoff, Half & Half Good Olé Time(the name puzzles me nonetheless). I LOVE that the prices reflect the sizes of the drinks(half size, half price). It makes your experience a little less fattening. I especially love their iced milk drinks with honey boba and pudding, all for just $ 2.88 here(seriously, that is ingenious.). The food is very average, they don’t have basics such as popcorn chicken so we opted for minced pork rice(small portion yet PERFECT for a small snack) and udon(do not recommend, you can easily make the same at home). Service is accommodating and friendly. Just beware of their fickle hours and definitely check beforehand if you are making the trek out here!(Unless you’re a SGV local…)

O.M.G!!! Imagine my excitement finding a place with such authentic Taiwanese décor. From the ugly fat stools you sit on to the chopstick and condiment holders, everything says TAIWAN! So far I’ve tried: –wintermelon milk and its light, refreshingly not too sweet like most places make theirs. –boiled spinach with some minced meat and garlic… simplicity at it’s finest ;) the veggies are fresh and when paired with the meat juice its totally delicious. Goes well with their minced rice. –minced rice is surprisingly juicy and flavorful unlike the dried junk some places serve. The portions are small but perfect for individuals to eat. soon I’ll have to return to try their plum stuffed tomato which is one of my favorite snacks(imagine a juicy baby tomato paired with a sliver of plum. ohh the flavor that bursts in your mouth).

Brought to you by the same franchise of Half and Half, this is the place to not only get their famous ice milk drinks and milk teas but also snacks and entrees! I didn’t order the entrees, but only drinks. The thing about their drinks here is that it’s not only cheaper(around $ 3 for an ice milk drink + egg pudding), but their regular cups are standard 18 oz cups as compared to Half and Half’s typical rounder sized cups. But the taste is still consistent and I like it! Maybe next time I will come here to try their entrees. This place is right next to Luscious Dumplings in the same plaza as Phoenix Kitchen.
