Chinese medicine, herbs, and cures are like an exotic mystery to me. I literally have no idea the difference between a $ 40 pile of Ginseng or a $ 400 package … and ginseng is about the only thing I even recognize in a store like Chung Chou City. Should you stop and shop? Sure, if you meet any of the following qualifications: A) You were raised in Asia and actually know what some of the«herbs» are B) You’re educated and know what Chinese cure you need C) You’re adventuresome and just want to try something else D) You don’t mind paying a lot for things you don’t understand E) You are clueless, but willing to trust a salesperson I came in search of ginseng and left in search of Wikipedia and Google Translation. What is this stuff? The people were friendly and the selection seemed diverse for such a small store. Since I’d previously had and love Star Fruit candy, it was the only thing I purchased. Everything else seemed like a pricey cure or supplement that I just didn’t know about. Will my HMO cover that Dried Fish? Of course, I may not be the target market for Chung Chou City until I become more educated, adventuresome, trusting, or less price sensitive … so, its hard to hate on Chung Chou City since I’m really the one with issues.
