Great & honest service. I have referred many people to A&E smog for a long time now, and received nothing but great feedbacks. The owner really knows what he doing. He is a honest guy and will not give you the run around like many smogs shops I’ve dealt with in the past. Btw, I am a mechanic and have been to many other smog shops who are always trying to screw people over for money. I am sure you may find a local smog shop that will charge you less then A&E, but the quality of their work and service may not be as good.
I’m giving this place 5 stars because of there honest work. I have many customers that have been lied to and scammed by other smog shop, because they just don’t know any better.
Sometimes paying a little more for good service isn’t a bad thing! They do get really busy at times, but doesn’t all places that offer good services? Be patient and understand that they are just doing their job, properly.

I’m giving 1 star because I cannot go any lower. They were extremely rude and inconsistent with their story about the pricing.
So I came here today to get a smog check. First the younger guy (hesitated a bit when I asked him) told me it will cost me $ 60. Then I said «oh ur sign there (hanging on the wall) says $ 41.75». He then said «oh I am not sure let me ask.» That’s when I began suspecting something was not right. He then quietly spoke to his boss, and his boss told me it will cost me $ 60. He said you can ask ur mechanic, or go to other places. I confronted the boss about the sign they have, which clearly says $ 41.75 small vehicles. He said no, then pointed me to the same sign, 3 rows down which says $ 61.75. But the problem is that the row he was pointing to clearly says «for trucks». I confronted him again and told him that he kept on changing his story and the way he does business is not very fair.
He now had finished a smog test for another car and was going to take it out for a test drive or something. He told his younger employee to just show me a paper (which was a receipt for smog test that says $ 60 on it) and apparently spoke in Chinese to tell the young guy not to do my test. Apparently he was mad because I was questioning his suspicious story on his pricing.
Finally I confronted the younger guy about their sign, then he simply said «oh this sign is old». Why the heck would they keep on referring to the sign and making up all these supporting story if this sign is old?!
I then Unilocaled another place called «freezone smog station», very close by and they only charged me $ 50. They were fast, polite, and professional. The biggest problem is that the boss was incredibly rude. He was mad? Give me a break go home and stop doing business if you can’t even handle people checking your price.

Only $ 45 for a smog check for my 2006 BMW. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. I would definitely come here again.

It’s not too far from the Pasadena DMV. The owner is a very nice guy. I got a pretty quick turn around and didn’t have to wait for long. A+ from me.

Cheap and fast, that’s all you need to know.

Incompetent!
So I took my G35 to get smogged here and was refused after a 30-​second inspection. The technician asked me what modifications I have, after noticing an intake and headers, refused to test my vehicle. I can understand being weary about testing a vehicle without CARB legal parts, but my car has 100% CARB legal parts on it. I was able to pass a visual and emissions test 2 years ago, as well as able to pass inspection at the CA State Referee. I see no reason for my car to pass inspection at a referee station, but have a smog shop refuse to test…
I asked him where else I could get a test done and he informed me that I was lucky he even looked at my car. That no one else would even take a chance with it. This tells me that not only was he too lazy/​incompetent to properly inspect my vehicle, but he was also shady to still try and keep my business for himself. He suggested that I get my parts removed and return to stock, then come back for an inspection.
Well «the guy down the street» DID inspect my car and was able to verify that indeed my parts were all CARB exempt. My car passed with flying colors, as I knew it would. So A&E has lost my business forever, as well as the 7 other cars within my household, one of which needs to get smogged this month as well.
UPDATE:
I would be cautious of ANY business with poor reviews, then all of a sudden gets 5-​star reviews from members with 1 review and 0 friends, just saying. I know this is a Smog station, but I smell FISH…

I do my own smog check, but if i need a smog tech that I can trust and consistent, I’ll go to A&E Smog check Test only Station. The shop is clean, smog is super reasonable, just love it! Come here every two years, no one bullshit you.
