My favorite sushi restaurant! I love the people that work there and just overall a very positive, welcoming, and enthusiastic atmosphere. Yoshi Sushi always makes my day better! Thank You!

Too much sushi rice. Wow! Each roll is probably the equivalent of a bowl of rice. Tuna tasted weird like they got the fish out of a swimming pool. DMV has faster service and we were the only ones there.

Have been going here for 20 years! Dependable quality, attentive service, and great portions. A recent remodel has brought the deco into the 2016 era of decorating, and it looks much better inside; clean and comfortable. We always sit at the bar and we always have a great meal.

They are close by my house so I come here regularly for lunch since they have a good deal for lunch special. Their appetizers are good. Their sushis are fresh and delicious. Overall, good place to stop by as the staffs are friendly to help you. But sometimes it takes so long to have your water refilled.

Had lunch over the weekend and absolutely loved this place! I got there right when it opened and I was the only one in there, the sushi chef and I were talking for a while and he was super nice giving me some motivating life lessons lol! The sushi was fresh and delicious, I will definitely be back!

Came here just two days ago for lunch with my boyfriend. We weren’t expecting anything, but in the end, we were really glad we stopped by! They have happy hour all day Saturday and Sunday, which is amazing! We got two sashimi salad. We were originally going to get one, but since it’s happy hour, we thought the portion was going to be too small; turns out we were wrong. It was huge! We also got tekka makki, a spicy tuna roll, and something else. Everything was big portions. We didnt get too much, but we had to take the rest togo in the end.

The word«yoshi» translates to «okay» in japanese. Unfortunately, that’s an overstatement to the quality of food this place serves. Please dont’t eat here… I had the sesame chicken and it was cooked with panko batter. It felt like rubbing castrol all over my lips. We came on a Saturday afternoon and maybe they werent expecting a party of 10, but the service was slow, unattentive, and sloppy.

Prelims: a small looking exterior that belies the rather spacious interior that is in the sushi restaurant in the middle of a strip mall, Yoshi Sushi is an interesting yet very usual sushi restaurant. Nothing about the menu screams that you need to try something absolutely immediately, yet nothing in the menu says that there are definitely things to avoid other than the price tag that you may or may not consider exorbitant. The service is pretty good — the server was pretty quick and very patient with our rather large group that dropped in out of nowhere. There is a nice little deal of getting a sake for $ 1; I endowed a blessing of alcohol on a friend when I went. I ordered the bento box because of my usual preference to have a slightly lesser quality meal for the better value. It came with fried chicken, a couple pieces of California roll, some tempura veggies and shrimp, rice, and miso soup all for the price of 1.5 rolls that most of the people got. Personally, there was nothing wrong with my dish — it was standard bento box of fried chicken. The miso was the usual downgraded version that is served at the usual places(the high class miso soup is served at really nice places and tastes world class above anything else so not surprised and did not factor into the star ranking). My friends all tried different things, ranging from the rolls to the ramen to other interesting things that were available. For the most part, those that got rolls were rather disappointed — they thought that they weren’t that good and especially at the price that they paid. One order was totally off and they comped it, so that was nice. The buddies of mine that got ramen were pretty satisfied — it was pretty large, had a lot of noodles, the broth was flavorful, and the noodles were good. So it was all in all, a rather mixed reaction. Prices range anywhere from $ 10-$ 18. TL;DR don’t get rolls — get the best bang for your buck.

I loved it!!! Everything is super fresh and their menu is awesome. The rolls are huge and there are a lot of them to chose from… sushi, hand rolled sushi and all the apperizers. Defenitely will be coming back soon. The only thing i will recommend is that they need a new system to order since you have to write down what you want from the menu, so they gave me four different sheets of paper to write in XD… other than that service is awesome and the staff is very friendly.

Eat here regularly for lunch. Love the lunch specials, particularly the big sashimi salad and chirashi. Took the whole family here for dinner last Friday. Was nicely surprised to be served by the owner. The chef was very kind and made some nice smiley sushi balls for my 2 kids, 4 and 6. Very much appreciate the extra consideration.

Really disappointed. Their sushi used to be excellent a few years ago. Now, they pack the rice rock solid(not how rice is supposed to be with single pieces of sushi). I asked them not to pack it so tight and they didn’t on my last two pieces. Don’t recommend.

Came here for the first time today for lunch to-go. The young girl at the front was super nice and patient with helping me out. I can’t have gluten or dairy and I am scared to try raw fish. She helped me pick the caterpillar roll. Sauce on the side although I believe the imitation crab may have dairy. It was super delicious! The inside had a cool focus wall behind the sushi bar and the staff was nice. The chief said thank you to me on the way out even though I was across the room. I’ll be coming back :)

If I could give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. Customer service is absolutely horrible. My boyfriend & I walked in for dinner last night & it took 12 minutes for someone to acknowledge us although there were like 10 workers… 12 minutes! The place was pretty dead & that should have given us a heads up that this was not a good place for dinner. We each ordered the $ 25 All You Can Eat deal & I warn you, it is NOTWORTHIT! We had about 4 different servers & each one rushed us. We just sat & within 4 minutes, we were asked if we were ready. I said no. A different person asked us if we were ready a minute later. I said no. This was the routine the entire time we were there. Just give me a chance to actually look at the menu! The food was crap & tasted old! The sushi was bland, greasy, & kept on falling a part! OMG. & guess what?! My last order was Salmon Nigiri & they just gave me the Salmon saying that«they ran out of rice.» What kind of sushi restaurant runs out of rice. Absolutely ridiculous, what a joke! I suggest to the workers that they stop mingling outside & smoking & concentrate on better customer service. In addition, to the sushi chefs, stop getting wasted with the people at the bar & actually try making some decent sushi. I am surprised that this place has not shut down yet. Save yourself some money & if you want quality AYCE sushi, go to RB sushi.

A young lady further down in the comments said,“when I am hungry sometimes I make bad decisions.” Couldn’t have put it better so I will quote her. Service: I walked in and thought maybe they were closed as nobody greeted or sat me for over 5 min and it was empty. They have separate pricing for cash and card. I paid cash and they billed me for card. When I told the lady, she answered the phone and walked away. Food: Subpar. Have you ever had greasy sushi… How? All of the fish is pre cut and not made to order. I ordered a salmon skin hand roll. It was cold and chewy when it should have been hot and crispy. Spicy scallop hand roll — can’t mess up store bought scallop filling. Protein roll — literally watched him make the roll then loosely wrap soy paper around it. The tempura shrimp was greasy and not made to order(what…really??? It takes 45 seconds to fry shrimp) the loose wrapping made each piece fall apart. This place is a disaster.

Was not impressed! Convenient location as its in a business area, but it’s almost what I would expect from buying sushi at a grocery store. Ordered miso soup and gyoza to start off with. The miso must have been scrapped from the bottom of the pot because it was not even hot. It was pretty much room temperature. Soup is suppose to be hot! The gyoza seemed a bit limp. Unfortunately I don’t remember all the names of the rolls. the only decent dish was a roll served with ahi tuna in top and a side of seaweed salad. For me, this wasn’t bad. We had two crunchy rolls, one with cooked salmon(?) inside. The texture of the cooked fish was off, and it almost looked like a sausage. The one bite was all I could take from this roll. The other crunchy roll with shrimp had a sauce on it that made it sweet. Again a little odd to have sweet shrimp. The last roll was a basic California roll with tuna on top. Very basic. In regards to service, no one came to refill our drinks once throughout the entire meal. When the bill came I was a bit surprised. Each roll was about $ 12 – 15 each. A lot more than they should be. I wasn’t impressed with the quality or service. Will not be back.

Yoshi Sushi is the convenient sushi option as their location is close to work. Food: I question the freshness of the fish. This is a must when it comes to sushi. I am very turned off when my sushi smells like fish. This is often the case here. Their bento boxes and tempura is of decent quality. I really like their Agadashi tofu and Sashmi Donburi salad(if fresh). Beer: Good beer and sake selection. I enjoy cold unfiltered sake! Service: Servers lack in communication skills and can misunderstand your order. I feel attitude from the waitstaff when things do not go smoothly. Ambiance: A simple setup with TV screens. Medium sized restaurant with ample parking in the complex. Overall, Yoshi Sushi has some improvements to make when it comes to freshness and overall service level. I would prefer to go elsewhere but sometimes, I am on a time crunch.

When I’m hungry, I sometimes make poor decisions. I was craving sushi, and having skipped breakfast, the hunger demons convinced me to give Yoshi Sushi another try. The restaurant is definitely run down. The tables weren’t covered in cloth and what sat on the vinyl coated white tables were paper napkins and wooden chopsticks. The server slapped a couple of menus down along with 2 dirty order sheets. One sheet had stains on it and the other had already been scribbled on. Our server was back with an old white plate of ginger and wasabi. I took another quick look around the restaurant — at the dirty menus, the ugly décor and it’s bare tables. I told the gal that we wouldn’t be placing an order. She looked disappointed and very shocked, but I’m wasn’t going to waste money on what I predicted would be nasty, poorly crafted sushi.

I have been quite a lot of sushi joints and this was by far the worst experience I have ever encountered. I came here once before way back maybe four years ago and it was decent. I disregarded the lack of good reviews and just decided to give this place a shot and go for it. Came tonight around 7:30pm and there was two small tables and one large table. My friend got there first so I told him to get a table. When I got there he told me that NOTONE person greeted him as he stood there so he just sat himself down. Looking at the menu it is not a pretty sight. There isn’t much to offer and nothing stands out or looked appetizing to me. I thought to myself should. Should I just walk out? But no I didn’t. Two servers walked past us and we were sitting for maybe fifteen or twenty minutes so I just had to flag one of them down. We got the spicy albacore deep fried roll and the special dynamite roll. *The wait*. It didn’t take long maybe ten minutes for the food to come out and why I am not giving one star but two stars is because we got a *on the house* bowl of raw salad and fishes. I don’t eat raw sushi so it was a waste, but none the less thoughtful. The albacore tasted really sour to me and there was nothing special about my dynamite roll. The dynamite roll especially had a overwhelming amount of cream cheese that just left a unpleasant taste in my mouth. But you know. It gets better. No refills for my water. How great is it to feel dehydrated right? We didn’t even finish half of each roll. While boxing it I can sense the sushi chefs staring at me making me feel uncomfortable and pretty bad about not finishing. It’s a shame I won’t be back.
