It’s the Yardhouse, you know what you’re getting here. There are a ton of beers on tap and the food is mediocre at best. Service makes or breaks this place, this visit service was ok. I had the Kung Pao calamari. It was meh. Kinda dried out and chewy, not the two best things I look for in calamari or Kung Pao.

Horrible service. Came in with a young friend of mine. We look young but work in the industry. We hate being pre judged as young girls who don’t tip. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened. We were greeted by a nice black girl. she was the host. No problem, she was super nice. We already knew what we wanted to order. An older white guy comes to the table about 5 minutes after being seated and puts one coaster down saying, «I’ll be right back.» He then walks around the place talking to coworkers. Uhhhm ok? Then he comes back and asks what we want to drink. We both ask for water. He seemed upset. We were ready to order and as soon as we started ordering, he cuts us off, says he’ll give us a couple minutes, walks away and gets our waters. I understand that he was probably going through a shift change and didn’t want to bother with a table that he wasn’t getting a tip at, but shit be polite? He could have gotten our entire order in one brief talk, rather than showing attitude and providing horrible service. I’m sure if we were his table, he would have put on his fake nice and earned a tip. If we ever do come back, we hope to not have him as a server. Extremely rude.

I Came here not to long ago for a friends Birthday and We don’t plan on returning again. I had called a week in advance to set up reservations, and the night we got there we were told we didn’t have a reservation? And we were standing there waiting with a big group or friends before the hostess came back to tell me I had to call again to make sure we were coming. Umm hello? I thought that’s what the reservation was for(or at least let me know when I first call to call back again later on?!) it was disappointing, and usually were pretty laid back people considering I’ve worked in the restaurant biz before, but all the hostesses and employees that were in the front when we entered were very rude and didn’t seem welcoming at all. Mistakes happen I understand, but to make a mistake and be rude and have a crappy attitude? BYE.

Excellent beer selection. From what I can tell if you’re looking for small-production beer this is the place to go if you’re downtown. They have a massive selection of craft beers from across North America, and the globe for that matter, as well as a half dozen or so taps of their own creation. I really only stopped in for a beer at the recommendation of a friend of mine who is from the area so I didn’t have a chance to sample the products of the kitchen, but from what I saw it looked really solid pub grub.

The Yardhouse is a solid spot, especially if you are a beer connoisseur as they tend to have the largest inventory of draft beers. This particular location is fairly large with tons of dining room seating, a huge bar and a fairly large downstairs area. The food here is pretty good and the menu options are fairly substantial as well. I would like to give a shout out to the carnitas enchilada stack as it was pretty delicious, not gonna lie. Overall, Yardhouse is a solid option for drinks and even grub should you be looking for that. Pros– Beer selection Service Bar layout Decent food Location Cons– Parking Crowded on Friday/Saturday nights Downstairs bathrooms

We walked in close to 11 a.m. and it was like walking into a sauna. It was so hot inside. I wanted to walk out, but my daughter is more tolerant. Mario was our server. He was attentive, friendly and helpful. We ordered the Spicy Tuna Roll, Mac& Cheese and the Miso Sea Bass. The Sea Bass was slightly fishy, which is not something I expected from the Yard House. The Mac&Cheese was creamy with chunks of bacon. The Spicy Tuna Roll has been my all time favorite, and it was delicious, as always. Our check was $ 65+ without tip.

Celebrated my 21st birthday here. They have a pretty good beer selection. The food leaves a bit to be desired. I’ve had a lot better food at other bars.

Been here four times and never excited about coming here, but always have a good time. They do have a great beer menu and they had my Sculpin grapefruit which did excite me on tap. It’s a more upscale larger interior than what you expect. Actually every time I come back it feels like it’s getting bigger. Just feels like a tourist trap with inflated prices due to location and overhead. Cooler Americana menu with some Asian and Mexican items. I’ve only eaten here a couple times and actually forget what I’ve had. Nothing too memorable. This is a place with good AC and bar space to get your drank on. Food is good if you’re here and hungry, but nothing to go out of your way food. Guess I’m still hung up on paying more than $ 8 for a beer. Good for being downtown and in a pinch to drink.

It’s been awhile since we’ve been here, so when we were in gaslamp and bf wanted beer we decided to come here since they have some of his fave beers. We came around 5 pm on a weekday and we were seated immediately. We got one of the larger booths so we had quite a bit of space. Our server was Brian. To eat we decided to order the grilled chicken and avocado sandwich with a side of truffle fries and bbq chicken salad. For the salad there’s an option for small or large size. We weren’t sure how much we would eat, so we ordered the large just in case. The sandwich is on a onion poppy seed bun. This wasn’t my fave type of bread for this sandwich, the bread is soft, but slightly toasted would have been good. I love avocados, so when I opened the sandwich and found a thin layer of smashed avocado that covered maybe 70% of the bread, I was slightly disappointed. This amount you can’t even taste the avocado. Since our salad had half of an avocado sliced on the side, I added this to the sandwich and it was much better. The truffle fries are shoestring fries, pretty thin. They weren’t the best truffle fries, but not bad at all. The salad was huge. We definitely could have gone with a small esp since we didn’t get through half it. There’s quite a bit in the salad and pretty filling. Our server, Brian was awesome. Very attentive and quick. Overall food I would give 3.5 stars and 4.5 for service. Yard house is still a good place to come!

It’s ok. Average food, but lots and lots of beer. Local good beer at that. And their happy hour is awesome. I like the extensive amount of vegetarian options, but for the most part the food is only so so. From what I’ve seen the service has been so so each time. The bartenders don’t seem to enjoy working there and it shows. It’s really dark inside, no outdoor seating and it’s usually pretty dead. I don’t love coming here but I’ve been known to hit it up for happy hour or to take out their chicken fingers when I’m hungover. Oh and that smores brownie… to die for. Get it. I also recommend sitting at a table, the bar is a little boring. The tables are big, spacious and cool to sit at. And the servers are better than the bartenders from what I’ve noticed. You can see the multiple t. vs from anywhere you sit

I have been to three Yard Houses now in different cities, and consider this one of the better chain restaurants. This Yard House in San Diego is similar to the others I have visited, except I didn’t care too much for the layout. The bar was deep inside with no view of anything where I sat on the rear side. It seemed kind of dark in the restaurant, as opposed to other Yard Houses that have a more light, airy, and open feel. The only thing I had a view of was the taps behind the bar and the TV screens above. They had the same high quality selection of draft beers that you find at other Yard Houses. I enjoyed the burger that I had for dinner. It was good for the drinks and food, but the ambience just threw me off a little. No problems with the service here. The staff behind the bar kept good tabs on me. With so many other choices in dining experiences in the area, I might try something a little different next time, with a little different ambience.

Good was great I ordered the summer salad with chicken twice in two days. The dress in is to die for. One critique– asked the hostess if you served breakfast and said she«thinks so». Super strange as She should know if they serve breakfast even if it’s her first day of work– just my .02. Other than that I highly recommend three amazing dishes: 1) ahi tuna for appetizer OMG amaZing 2) tomato soup — get the bowl BC the cup won’t crave the appetite 3) the dessert with cookie and marshmallows OMGGGGGG the best

I’ve been to multiple Yard Houses around the U.S. and this one unfortunately failed miserably. The service is soooo slow. My food was horrible! I got the chicken rice bowl and it had zero flavor whatsoever. I have gotten this plate in Florida multiple times and it is so much better there. I was so disappointed bc I specially went for a guaranteed tasty meal! Talk about let down. It was also very cold. I would have told my server if he asked but he did not care to inquire about our meal! Needless to say, we were ready to leave upon receiving the check! We will not give up on the Yard House brand, just the location.

Our waiter Mario was the best!!! Seriously I would keep going back again and again because he was that amazing to us! I had my bachelorette party downtown sd not only did he go over the menu thoroughly but he also told us all the cool places to hit up around the area! BEYONDAMAZINGSERVICE! Thank you for everything Mario! :)

I don’t go to Yard House expecting a culinary tour de force. This isn’t a date night restaurant. They specialize in having a crap ton of craft beer. And they do that job very well. The beer menu, consisting of over 4 pages of draft beers, plus an additional rotating list, is overwhelming for even the biggest of beer snobs. But it’s equally amazing. While the food is nothing to write home about, it is tasty for bar food and consistent. I particularly like the Thai chicken pizza w/macadamia nuts and the onion ring tower w/chipotle ranch. I just have to remember to go to the gym for 2 hours after. Nearly every employee at the bar area is extremely knowledgeable and kind, offering recommendations and allowing me as many free tasters as I’d like before deciding on a beer. The happy hour is also a steal with $ 2 off pints and half yards(yes an entire half yard of beer!) as well as ½ off certain appetizers and pizzas. Definitely a great spot for craft beer fans or watching a game!

Super loud and super dark but they have an awesome menu and bar menu. My new favorite drinks are hard ciders and many restaurants are still not serving any or only serving Angry Orchard. At Yard House, they even have Ace Hard Pineapple Cider on tap. My daughter had a Raspberry Hard Cider. They both hit the spot. For appetizers, we had the Lettuce Wraps, Kung Pao Calamari, and Chips and Guacamole. The only dish that was just average in taste and size was the Chips and Guacamole. I will be back even though parking downtown can be costly and a pain in the butt.

I start my rating for any downtown sd restaurants with 4 stars b/c the idea of having to drive circles around or pay $$$ to find parking is SUCH a pain. Yard House is no exception. I docked another point b/c the food was just okay. I am basing this rating off of the three times that i’ve been there in the past 5 years. I’ve ordered everything from appetizers to drinks, nothing was disappointing, but nothing stood out either. That said, if you have a large party and is simply looking for the ambiance of a fun, laid back place, then i would recommend Yard House!

Yard House tried. They did. They sent me a giftcard to try them again on the house, after my terrible experience last time. I waited a long time, because I was not enthused about it. But I went back this weekend, and I’m still stuck with meh. The service was nice. Our server was sweet. The food is mediocre at best. We got 2 orders of tacos, 1 bud light and 1 iced tea. It was $ 40. It was worth maybe $ 15. My tacos were all fat. Cloyingly sweet. Thoroughly unappealing. Truth be told, I didn’t eat them. I used the tortillas to scoop up the beans from the tiny tiny tiny ramekin of beans. The beans were good. I’m sorry Yard House. I won’t be back. I do not like you. Your food is bleh, and must only be good when you drink $ 60 worth of beer first.

This place has excellent customer service, but it’s probably not necessary to check in on us every 5 minutes?! Lol. Our waitress was over attentive. Which isn’t the worst thing, and is better than being underattentive, but at the same time I felt like the conversation I was having kept being interrupted. The food was pretty good. I had the Parmesan crusted chicken. I’ve gotten it before, but this time it was a litttttle on the dry side. And on top of that, they never brought out my husbands soup(which should’ve came before the meal). She was apologetic when we reminded her, and I was expecting some sort of offer for compensating it, because it came realllllllyyy late. Even after we asked for it, it took another 15 minutes. Hubby practically finished his main course before the soup came. Womp womp. Other than that, great environment and fun place to be.

After watching a ballet performance at the San Diego Civic Theater on Saturday night, we walked over to Yard House for dinner. There were four of us in our party and they were able to seat us immediately in a comfortable booth. Yard House’s menu is enormous, offering something that will likely appease the sensibilities of anyone. At least on paper, that is. Their cocktail menu is also robust; I opted to try their Island Drop martini($ 10+). It had a beautiful presentation, arriving at the table with a stunning turquoise hue. That, however, was the most redeemable thing about the drink. It was too sweet, and the majority of the concoction was nothing but fruit juice, sadly. I didn’t want to consume fruit juice on a Saturday night.(Note to self: Stay loyal to MA4 for martini needs.) For my entrée, I selected the Roasted Turkey Club. It was an average club sandwich, lacking flavor and personality. Flat. The bacon didn’t taste fresh, and the mayo spread was scant. It was served with a generous portion of french fries — they were very good. The other thing that turned me off about Yard House was the smell. I’m not trying to be cruel, but It smelled as if I was dining in a latrine. The service was spotty. It took awhile for my cocktail to arrive. A little later, a margarita was ordered by one of my dining companions and it never arrived. Our waiter was MIA for long periods of time. Overall, I just don’t think I’m a Yard House kinda guy.
