While staying at the Doubletree Hotel this past weekend in Mission Valley, I was able to enjoy a nice lunch and drink at the Windows Bar. This place is so named because it is perched overlooking the beautiful pool and spa area of the hotel. There is a small shaded outdoor area and a nice indoor bar scene with plush seats and a romantic atmosphere.
The Windows Bar also doubles as a restaurant since you can order food from a menu and then are served it at the bar. I enjoyed a delicious Cobb Salad – that, while a little pricey, was well worth it. Because the Anchorman II casting call was going on that day close by, there was lots of action at the bar. A wedding party was also there and a gospel brunch group was hanging out too.
Windows Bar is classy and has a nice ambiance. I deducted 1 Unilocal STAR for high prices. $ 3.50 for a Sprite?
