I visited today because of positive Unilocal reviews in hopes that I’d be able to find a relatively affordable fix for a broken necklace chain.
After explaining the situation the gentleman asked if I had a few minutes and took my necklace to see what he could do. Within minutes he’d fixed it for me, free of charge!!! He was so kind and took care of what I needed! Will definitely be back if I ever need anything else in the future! Thanks again!

I found Stuart Benjamin & Co. by chance on my way to buy movie tickets. I needed to have my wife’s wedding ring repaired. Stuart helped me go over what was needed and I knew that I was in good hands. I feel so lucky to have found Stuart Benjamin & Co. After receiving a very unique engagement ring, I was directed to find a certified gemologist to have the ring appraised. This was my first introduction to the fabulous Christine and the rest of the staff. Not only did they make me feel well cared for, the care that they took with my ring was over the top.
Being so impressed with that first experience, I returned several times — purchasing my wedding ring (a perfect fit with my hard-​to-​match engagement ring shape!), having my engagement ring cleaned/​re-​plated to match the color of my wedding ring, AND having my husband’s wedding ring customized with a special engraving.
Throughout the process, Christine and Jeff were incredibly helpful, offered suggestions, and were just so kind each time I walked into the store.
Of all the vendors/​specialists I’ve been dealing with while planning my wedding, Stuart Benjamin stands out as being the most exceptional. Thank you!

This place is amazing! I have taken my wedding rings here a few times (to fix loose prongs and to re-​size) and each time they have taken great care of me! Everyone there is so friendly! I am always happy with their work! You will be so happy you trusted your jewelry with them!

We had our rings appraised there about a month ago! Super fast! Quality service! (We are terrible with names, but our appraiser was amazing — she’s so sweet & knowledgeable) recently we went back to get a couple of links taken out of a watch we bought for our wedding & One of the guys there helped me out and only charged me 10 $!!! Love this place! I’m sure we will be doing some holiday shopping here soon!

The only drawback is that the staff at Stuart Benjamin have made my jewelry buying process so fun and easy that I keep going back. I am always finding new pieces that I just can’t live without and I really enjoy the time that I spend in their little shop. I searched Unilocal for a jewelry store when I first moved to San Diego, because I wanted someone to help me design my own wedding ring. I refuse to wear something that comes from a catalog. At Stuart Benjamin, I was able to go in the store, draw pictures with Jeff Teel, and later walk away with a ring that I had designed and I will not have to see anyone else sporting a ring like mine. I was invited last year to a holiday party that the staff held right in the store. There were grab bags just for showing up, delicious hors d’oeuvres, and they took pictures of me modeling a ring worth a million dollars! There was a drawing for prizes as well, and I won a beautiful handmade jewelry box from one of the vendors featured at the store.
Go in, get to know the team, and provide your address so they can send invitations to their fun, wonderfully organized events. I recommend Stuart Benjamin to anyone who wants to give their heirloom jewelry a face-​lift, and to those who enjoy one-​of-​a-​kind pieces to make themselves feel special.

I had an amazing experience having my wedding ring design changed. I emailed them some ideas to ask for a quote and they got back to me right away with options for my ring. The ideas were exactly what I was hoping for and happily offered a fair price for the work. For my ring, Jeff Teel (I believe the manager) work with me and I was so pleased how it turned out. A dear friend recommended Stuart Benjamin & Co. and I am SO glad he did, I’ll definitely work with them again.

My wedding rings were a little tight and needed to be re-​sized after 20 years. The original purchase was in ’95 from the old Benjamin’s store off the highway. They are 3 separate rings with baguettes set in a difficult-​to-​work-​with setting. The other store is now closed and I couldn’t find anyone to work on my rings because of the design. It was so nice to discover that Stuart Benjamin is related to the old store and they are very adept at working on more technical pieces. They did an AMAZING job sizing and polishing the rings! I couldn’t be happier and their pricing was very reasonable.

We came down for an appraisal of old jewelry and were treated to the undivided attention of two experts, Christine and Jeff.

My husband and I have been customers for over 15 years starting with jewelry that was designed by Stuart even prior to our engagement. We have recently moved back to the SD area and even when we were out of state, they provided us full service by sending our pieces back to us after purchase, repair or redesign all via insured mail. Stuart is trustworthy and reliable, as is the entire staff. I trust him explicitly having designed, bought, resold and repaired many special pieces of jewelry with him. He is a no pressure sales person who guides you with a no hassle approach. His work speaks for itself so his pieces sell themselves. All work is of the finest quality and workmanship. My son is soon to be engaged (don’t look at this or you will ruin the surprise!) so a second generation of clients are in the making. Stuart also cheers on our younger son with local SCAHA hockey. He is our lifetime jeweller and now, our friend.

I was nervous about leaving my wedding set with just anyone, but Stuart took great care of me and my set. My ring looks brand new and the turn around time was quick. I highly recommend this business. I even made a wish list for my hubby :)

Jeff and the entire staff at Stuart Benjamin earn an A++ in every department. We started with them back in November 2014 as they were one of the few who carries Boccia watches. My husband found what he wanted and then saw a custom ring that he wanted to have made. We spent several weeks with Jeff working out exactly what he wanted. All done long distance… We live in the north OC area… We picked it up and it was beautiful! As we were approaching our 25^th anniversary my husband decided to update my wedding set. We worked with Jeff and he created the most amazing one of a kind custom ring that I love! We look forward for excuses to travel to San Diego and a visit to Stuart Benjamin! There is no doubt you will be happy with them!

I brought my engagement ring in to be resized. As soon as I walked into the store I felt confident I chose the right place. Stuart and Jeff were very friendly and took the time to figure out the best way to make my ring fit perfectly. They were very professional and clearly knew what they were talking about. I felt completely comfortable leaving my ring with them. I could not be happier with how it turned out! I will most definately return to this store with my husband for future purchases.

I wanted to get my niece an nice anklet for her visit to the beach. I spoke with the jeweler and explained my request, he didn’t have an anklet but he could re-​purpose a bracelet, if I had an extra hour. I jumped at the chance and he presented me with exactly what I had in mind. My niece loved it, especially when I told her it was one of a kind

I love Stuwarts creations! I have been a loyal customer since 1984! My mom has shopped with him and his family since the 70’s! Great knowledge and education as he helps you pick or make something special for the occasion. I love the store!

What great personal customer service! I brought in a Techno Marine watch with a faded (and ugly) watch band that I wanted replaced.
After balking at being informed that an official replacement watchband would cost me $ 100, Mr Benjamin suggested I leave the watch with him and he would see what he could do. It took a bit of time, and I have no idea how he managed it, but I now have a new white watchband on my beautiful watch at no charge. I know he spent time and energy making that happen, in addition to the research he did for me on resurrecting my poor abused Seiko.
Still he insisted with a smile that there was no charge.
But the thing that took me over the top was when he heard my 5-​year-​old daughter wishing she could have a ring with a pink stone, he came to a stopping point with the other piece of jewelry I brought in for repair, went to a treasure chest of sorts, and called her over. He gave her a silver plastic ring with a large pink «stone» surrounded by little «diamonds». She went from, «Mommy can’t we go yet?» to «I’m like a princess!» in seconds.
Bottom line: if you are looking for a jeweler who truly cares about his customers (big and small), who has built a great team, and delivers superior quality products, look no further.
And I haven’t even described their original jewelry selection… which is absolutely breathtaking. Well worth a visit!

This place was awesome! Two years ago, my boyfriend got me a pair of really nice earrings from Kay Jewelers for Christmas. This past month, one of the posts broke off, and I took it into Kay to get it repaired. They wanted $ 95 FOR ONE POST! On top of that, they said that if I paid $ 150, I would get them back «looking like new»! I’m sorry, but $ 95 is way over priced to weld on a thin post of silver to an earring, especially when the earrings only cost about $ 200 to begin with!
After poking around Unilocal,I found Stuart Benjamin. My boyfriend and I went together and spoke with Jeff. He was very helpful and told me they could repair my earring and clean both for only $ 20. MUCH BETTER! Not only was my earring repaired, but he got everything taken care of right before the holidays and cleaned one of my rings free of charge! When I went to pick up my earrings, I was floored! I had forgotten just how much my earrings shined! Jeff wrapped up each earring individually and I was able to pay after the job was done.
While there, we also had the opportunity to browse their selection of jewelry for sale, and while we didn’t purchase anything, I was definitely impressed by their selection and uniqueness of products.
We will be back!

I went to this jeweler because of their reviews on Unilocal– So I figure that I really ought to add one of my own.
A prong on my engagement ring broke! We went to this jeweler to repair it and they found (and showed me) two cracks in a side stone! We ended up repairing both, cleaning/​dipping my engagement ring, wedding band, AND my husband’s wedding band.
I am very happy with the way the rings turned out! AND I am very happy with the price. They discounted my husband’s ring since we were already having so much work done. Very cool.
The staff was friendly, thorough, and informative. They were VERY polite and genuine on the phone. (Which I love– being a midwestern in CA…)
