Well it’s hard to write a review when you are not open. I checked out the reviews. Looked good. Drove over during what business hours are posted and. Nope closed.

I went to Mission Café on a Sunday morning with my family in the hopes of enjoying brunch without having to wait 30 minuets or more for a table. When we arrived that is exactly what we found; a frequented but not too crowded little café with an expansive menu and friendly staff. I ordered the village breakfast wrap with bacon, my husband had the cinnamon bun french toast, and my dad had one of their omelets. My wrap was delicious, filled with pillowy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, cheddar cheese, potatoes, onions and bell peppers. My dad’s omelet was almost identical, minus the potatoes, and he really enjoyed it. The only disappointed party was my husband who did not think his french toast was anything special and even wondered aloud if it had any cinnamon on it. All in all it was a lovely meal. Next time we will just make sure to order all savory breakfast dishes so the food will be just as good as the experience.

Was really excited to find a coffee shop close to my work that had good coffee and an easy breakfast. Welp, this wasn’t it! Mediocre coffee, dry muffins and unwelcoming atmosphere! I not only stood in line for 6 minutes before anyone came to serve me(mind you the place was empty at 6:45am) but I ordered a blueberry muffin and was handed banana nut. It’s just not a great coffee place. If your looking for stale food, okay coffee and you have time to waste standing in line, this is you place!

I really like this place! Been living in the neighborhood for over a year & decided to walk to the café & grab a little breakfast & coffee. I got the light breakfast platter & a Carmel macchiato. Both items were delicious & the service was quick. The staff was also very friendly & accommodating. The outdoor area was quaint & peaceful, and I loved that I can walk my dog down there & have her next to me while I enjoyed a bite & a book. So glad I finally decided to try this spot out! Will definitely be stopping by again :)

I come here every Sunday for breakfast and coffee. The owners and staff are very friendly and the food is very good at a decent price. The only downside is getting here when the Chargers have a home game, traffic is horrible. It’s a very good place to start your day. I just found out today they are expanding to PB and will start serving dinner as well

I’m a huge Iced coffee guy and they promote a 24 hour cold brew but it was pretty weak to me. And I drink it black. Atmosphere is great! Really nice people too. They are really dog friendly.

I’d like to start off by saying I don’t write reviews unless I feel strongly about the business be it good or bad. As a business owner myself, I always do what I can to take care of my clients and to right any wrongs if I have been at fault. My experience at Village Café is that there is a definite lack of good customer service and responsibility or concern taken where there should have been. Back in the beginning of September, I bought a hot tea. The cream is on the counter where the drinks are picked up and the sugar, stirrers, and cup covers are on the side wall area. AFTER I put cream in my tea, it spilled on my hand as I was carrying it over to the side wall table to get sugar and a cover. Tom, one of the owners, gave me some ice for it. I kept ice on my hand all day but ended up with 2nd degree burns. I came back about a couple weeks later and spoke to Tom about the incident. I explained that I ended up with 2nd degree burns and didn’t want him to worry that I be suing or anything like that but the water was definitely too hot if I had 2nd degree burns AFTER I had cream added. They might want to reconsider the setup and put the cream together with the other items to avoid someone getting burned in the future. He was defensive about the water saying that they have someone coming in to check the temperature. He knows it’s hot because he’s gotten burned so many times. He said it was less hot than pour over coffee(That is because pour over coffee cools down as it is being poured and dripping). I said that I rarely came in but work in the complex and was there anything he could do for me like maybe free coffee or tea from now on. He said, «Whatever you want. We’ll take care of you.» I thanked him. Maybe a month later, I came in for a regular coffee. He asked«how long do you expect us to do this?» I said well, I don’t come in often… it was only the 2nd time I had come back in a couple months since the incident. He said I could have it that time but he couldn’t continue giving me free coffee or tea for legal reasons. The setup had not been changed and I asked if there were any changes made on the water temperature. THEANSWERWASNO. I did mention I felt I should be compensated in some way or at least the situation acknowledged with changes so that it wouldn’t happen to someone else or I would give a Unilocal review. He said he would talk to his business partners and see what they could do. They couldn’t give me free coffee or tea but they would definitely take care of me. I said ok. Today, I went in, said hello to Tom and asked if he had a chance to talk to his business partners. He said yes but he was turned off by my threat to put a bad Unilocal review and so they wouldn’t do anymore for me and I could go ahead and put my review up… and here I am.

Been here a couple times, enjoyed it all those times. But the best day to stop by is Sunday’s! Great service, friendly staff! Love you guys! Had the padre platter and French toast, soooo good! That French toast keeps me coming back!

Today is my only real day off and I’m out of eggs and fruit to make breakfast at home. I looked on Unilocal to find a breakfast place nearby. I really miss K Sandwiches in Linda Vista that burned down a few months ago. I would go there often for their coffee and breakfasts. I was really impressed when I walked into Village Café. Nice outdoor tables with umbrellas and fresh flowers on the table. I was greeted by a gentle man and a young lady. Both were very helpful explaining the breakfast and coffee menus. Coffee is really big deal for me and I needed some protein to start my day. I ordered the Vietnamese Latte and a Farm House Omelet. I sat outside and enjoyed the early morning air. My coffee came out first then my omelet was brought out with their homemade salsa. I also got a punch card for future coffee purchases. The food was quality and delicious and my coffee was amazing. The service was genuine and helpful with welcoming smiles. I noticed other customers getting the same great service. What a nice treat to myself. Maybe next time I will treat a friend at this place.

I’ve been here twice now. The first time I got the avocado turkey sandwich. Second time: village veggie wrap. The sandwich was, for lack of a better word, basic. Mayo, a few slices of turkey, small piece of lettuce, one tomato, and maayyybe half of a TINY avocado all messily piled up in the center. It was ok. Small for the price. Uninteresting, in my opinion. The veggie wrap is a little more interesting/satisfying. I’m not vegetarian, but I like a lot of veggies with whatever I get, so maybe that’s why I enjoy this more than the sandwich. But the portions are still quite small. Based on the atmosphere and staff/service, I’d give this place 4 – 5 stars. But since I am someone who likes meals that are not only delicious, but good for my wallet, I’m dropping it down to 3. Definitely do not expect to take home any leftovers from here! I’ll be back, but probably infrequently.

I have since stayed away from their bagels, but Village Café has served me good iced coffee and pastries for the past few weeks, no complaints about that! They bake those fresh daily, I loved seeing them come out of the kitchen in their silver baking tin, fresh, authentic and yummy! Now serving pumpkin themed pastries and cold brew Iced coffee.

Me «I’d like an iced chai with non fat milk and a shot, please» Her«non fat? So do you want almond or soy milk, then?» They have a new girl, she’s been there for about 2 weeks but she still hasn’t caught on to the simplest of things. Like how to work the register… Or the fact that non fat milk is not almond or soy but simply just milk with lower fat percentage. :face palm: This place has undergone a change in ownership. With that came changes to the menu and what seems like changes in prices as well. The breakfast wrap is better than what it once was. I find it ridiculous that their dirty chai is over $ 5. And it sucks that they have started only doing breakfast till 11. They have some guy that plays music there on Saturdays or Sunday’s(can’t remember which), it’s way to loud. He doesn’t have an amp just him and his acoustic guitar, but the way the café was built the acoustics are horrible making everything 1000 times louder then what they actually are. So between the guy playing and the baristas making your drinks and the cooks cooking plus people trying to talk over all that noise … It gets very loud. The remodel looks nice though, with the change of menu boards, décor and extended cooler/countertop, etc. makes it look more professional. All in all, I will continue to come back for the sheer convenience of this place.

I would have given 5 stars when I was here the last time. I used to love the farmhouse wrap. So much that I tried replicating at home and yearned for it on most Sunday’s. So when I went the last time I of course asked for my favorite wrap. And to my disappointment it wasn’t there. I was told the village breakfast wrap was close to the previous farmhouse wrap. I decided to try but it was no where close. Lots of potatoes and veggies and the eggs dint taste as yummy as before. Not happy :(. My favorite breakfast is no more. I wish they would get it back . I don’t know if the other items in the menu has changed. Also ordered a caramel frappé. Wasn’t very great. Otherwise it’s s nice place with good service but doesn’t have my fav breakfast anymore.

I’ve been going to village café for about a year now and they went through a management change recently and everything is overpriced now. The food and coffee taste OK. Sadly I’ll have to look for another local coffee shop in the neighborhood.

I have been looking for a spot to eat that has outdoor seating and village café popped up. I also noticed they had a free cup of coffee with check in. Thank you! I like variety in my life so I like to have one of everything sometimes and I was a little disappointed that I couldn’t order just one pancake. The smallest a la cart is 3. I understand that’s just their rule but I always wonder why companies don’t allow that? I got the French toast a la cart and it was two huge pieces. The French toast was ok. Nothing special. There was a man playing a guitar and singing inside which was awesome. The staff was friendly which was nice. I always appreciate that. I think I’ll try something off the lunch menu next time.

This is a great neighborhood coffee shop! They have some really good food to choose from. The staff is really friendly and the owners are absolutely amazing. If your hungry for breakfast you should try this place the price range is between $ 6 and $ 10 but well worth it. They have outside seating which is great so you can bring your dog with you. They have great hours so if you are looking for someplace cozy for a evening cup a coffee this is the place.

This café is very nice and quaint. Came here to meet up with a friend to grab a nice simple breakfast. I believe the owner took our order, she was really nice and helpful. I ended up ordering one of their breakfast wraps and it was very good. My friend ordered their special scramble of the day and he liked it. Portions are a bit smaller than we expected, but it was good nonetheless. Really nice place to grab an early bite especially if you’re looking for something low key.

Village Café is a breakfast lunch place that was located near home and was a stopping spot for me leaving the house to run some errands. This place opens up early at 7 am, but they didn’t quite seem to have all their pastries out for the day according to the lady behind the counter. Really no clue what that means. Anywho, I ordered their healthy wrap with some turkey bacon, large drip coffee and a chocolate croissant to try out. The coffee here is roasted by Caffe Calabria, which is amazing stuff. I love supporting local roasters. The coffee tasted great, and freshly brewed. The healthy wrap( ) was quite delicious and a great way to start the day. It came with fruit on the side, which was nice, not really a fan of berries though. Inside the wrap( ) was eggs, feta cheese, spinach, avocado and some turkey bacon which I added for extra. How can you have breakfast without some bacon? Eggs were cooked, avocado was fresh and the hint of feta cheese made for a great flavor. Although the wrap was quite small, it did feel like a good sized breakfast that filled me up. They also brought out a hot sauce bottle() with the wrap which had some pretty tasty sauce that went well with the wrap. The chocolate croissant( ) however was quite the different story, they warmed it up in a microwave before serving it. Unfortunately it tasted old, not fresh and very unappetizing. The filling inside kinda goo-ed out of the croissant and the chocolate wasn’t good either. I have no clue why you would warm up a chocolate croissant to begin with, not to mention why you would serve old ones. This place has quite an array of breakfast and lunch choices on their menu and they serve great coffee. My order came out to be about $ 15 and some change, which in my opinion is a bit steep of a price, but the wrap was definitely very good. Great food, delicious coffee, but I’d pass on the pastries. The café itself was clean and a nice atmosphere to have a good breakfast. The service here was also very friendly and pleasant.
