I love this place! Quick fresh ands delicious! Best vegetarian sandwich is the Californian… it is to die for! seriously– I love the artichoke and mixture of veggies. They do it right! Cookies are great too

This is probably one of my favorite sandwich spots in San Diego. I used to come here more often while I was attending USD but I definitely will go out of my way for a good sandwich. So Cal Sandwich is my favorite thing on the menu. Chicken sandwich on a pita bread with chipotle sauce and for sure gotta add a lil bit of cholula hot sauce for extra flavor.

Love the food here. My only complaint is the space. It’s very crowded. The tables are really close together. And if you’re waiting for a to-​go order there is almost no place to stand comfortably while waiting for your food. I love the SoCal and the southwest chicken sandwiches. Would give five stars if they had a better layout of their space.

This is such a nice «different» choice for a sandwich meal. Technically, it’s still a Sandwich, but it’s not just filling in between any regular bread. They bake their own focaccia bread. Plus they have a great variety of sandwich selections. They have many chicken items, beef, and veggie. I really appreciate that they serve you a side salad as well. I will have to put this place on my regular lunch rotation.

‘Discovered’ and been coming back to this location, mostly with family, in the last couple of months. Sandwiches are delicious though high calorie, however green portion should help with the healthyside of the conscience!
Nice setting with very reasonable prices.

The best sandwiches you can get in this area! I eat there several times a week and use their catering for many occasions! If you like avocado and a little spicy then you must try South West. There is a guy named Oscar that works there almost everyday for lunch and he is amazing, so friendly and funny. If you order once he will recognize you and temper your name next time or if you order over the phone. Sometimes you have to wait to get a table, but people leave quickly so it’s usually no more then 5 min (about the same time as good takes to prepare).

This place is always packed during lunch hours and its pretty small if you want to eat inside but the sandwiches are pretty bomb. My favorite is the So Cal chicken one with a side salad and I could probably eat one every day. highly recommened this place if you’re in the area and want a good lunch spot

Had the so cal chicken based upon recommendation; great sand & comes with nice green salad. Great little spot with some outdoor seating aside the parking lot.

Ordered to-​go over the phone and it was ready in 10 minutes! I ordered 4 sandwiches and a salad. Parking took the longest in the small/​crowded lot.
The sandwiches are delicious and remind me of Stone Oven at Fashion Valley mall. The sandwiches have similar bread and come with similar salads.
We tried 4 different sandwiches (grilled cheese– for the kids, the chicken southwest, green chili chicken and the Rosemary chicken). All were very good and recommend!

Short and sweet… delicious! The simple salad with balsamic vinaigrette was a perfect compliment to the sandwich. And, oh the sandwich! The focaccia bread was delicious and did not overpower the core ingredients. That chimichurri sauce was sooo good!
Bravo! Now, set one up here in the Bay Area!

A friend of mine & her fiancé get salads & sandwiches here a lot on a regular basis so we decided to check it out.
I had the Artichoke Bisque that was creamy & tasty; I devoured the house salad accompanied by Chipolte Ranch dressing, which my boyfriend helped me swap out for their usual placeholder of balsamic vinaigrette. It was a perfect marinade for dipping the warm crust of bread that came w/​the soup & salad combo.
My boyfriend had their chimichurri sandwich — Tri-​Tip steak in yummy goodness. We heard other people put in the same order after we sat down, so this is a popular vote. He also substituted the side house salad for the Chicken Enchilada soup, & there was nothing but happiness on his face.
It does get crowded, & as a result there is not always enough staff to come by & clean the tables and/​or seats; We did a little wipe before we sat. The parking can be a bit hectic as the spaces are shared with other retail mixed within an apartment complex.

Had an amazing salad with all the fixings at the Urbane Café. I think it was a salad special but it looked like they have a lot of great options. Next time I go I think I want to try one of their sandwiches.
I did hear that a lot of the USD students go here which I think is great because they have healthier options there. It’s definitely worth trying.

The shop isn’t the biggest but I can tell you they make food better then the big, bad professionals. This place is fantastic and I’ve been coming here with friends for the last couple of months. I’ve enjoyed it each and every time, plus the service keeps getting better.
The employees are really nice and super honest. The last time I was there I left my purse and one of the employees ran it out to me as I was leaving. It was an expensive purse too, so I was really glad that they showed integrity.
I will certainly keep coming here as it is one of my favorite locations to eat at lately.

I met a friend for lunch in Linda Vista yesterday and chose Urbane Café due to the great Unilocal reviews. I must say that I was rather impressed!
There were lots of great options on the menu and I had trouble narrowing it down to just one sandwich. Ultimately, I chose the Pesto and Sundried Tomato Chicken Sandwich and my friend ordered the Café Salad to share. In retrospect, we should have ordered two sandwiches because we failed to notice that the sandwiches already come with a side salad. We ended up with a lot of greens!
The sandwich was my favorite part of the meal. I’m a big pesto fan and this sandwich had a great ratio of pesto, sundried tomatoes, chicken and mozzarella. Delicious! The focaccia bread is wonderful!
I thought the inside of the café was a little too crowded for my liking but there are tables outside as well so you can escape to the fresh air.

I came here because I was super hungry and tired, so my review is biased based on my need for immediate nutrients and hydration.
Omg they had vegetarian options! I was in heaven! This place saved me from having to eat a «veggie delight» from subway!
So I got the Californian sandwich. Now some places that claim «vegetarian» only mean that they take out the chicken from the regular entrée and just serve you a bunch of carbs with lettuce. Well, not these guys. They now us plant eaters need our nutrition too, so they have designed a perfectly delightful sandwich that is both yummy and nutritious. It had artichoke hearts, avocado, sundried tomatoes, mushrooms, and some other stuff that has slipped my mind but made a lasting impression on my taste buds. I asked for no cheese and they were happy to comply. The best part? It came with a side salad oh yeeeahhh! Now usually I don’t get this excited about a salad, but this salad was probably the best one I ever had in my life. It came with some kind of dressing or vinaigrette that made you keep wanting to eat this salad until it was gone.
Everything tasted fresh and awesome, including the mineral water. I would definitely visit again if I am hungry and this place is in front of me.

Really flavorful food here, from sandwiches to soups and salads – it is all so good!
I really appreciate that they provide a salad with all the sandwiches. My favorite here is the gourmet-​grilled cheese! It’s a comfort food that they have certainly taken to the next level. The salad comes with balsamic dressing so if that’s not your favorite just ask for another dressing. Refreshing lemonade so make sure to give that a try.
Staff is always friendly and helpful. I place a lot of orders from Urbane for events and find that they are flexible and everyone loves the options available.

Right at the bottom of the hill leading to USD, Urbane is the perfect sandwich spot. Because of the delicious focaccia bread that they bake in store, you can’t go wrong at Urbane.
My favorite item is the Fiesta Chicken, but with turkey instead of chicken. It occasionally appears on the special items menu, but isn’t a regular menu item. I don’t know why not, because it’s delicious! It’s similar to the southwest but it comes with a creamy chipotle sauce as well as barbeque sauce. It’s perfect for those who LOVE FLAVOR. Other than that, I always love the protein salad.
If you want to avoid a wait or lack of seating space, call ahead! Your sandwich will usually be waiting for you upon your arrival!

I’ve gotta say, they’ve upped the presentation and packaging of their catering! We order sandwich platters from here to cater my office from time to time. This last time, our order was packed in these awesome and easy to carry boxes. Each sandwich was wrapped in paper and labeled! In the past, they were never labeled, so you had to just guess which one you were taking. Many of the sandwiches have avocado and chicken, so it can be hard to tell. I am very impressed with the new packaging!
The sandwiches, like usual, are warm, flavorful and satisfying. The bread is homemade/​fresh baked, which enhances it! I particularly like the SoCal chicken and the club! Our salads came in the same great box as well. You simply open the lid and flip it inside the lip for easy serving.
At my work we’ve done catering from a long list of local Old Town, Linda Vista and Hillcrest lunch places, and everyone prefers Urbane to all the others!
