Dessert was the bomb-dot-com. Wasn’t really impressed with the boba and drink selection in general. Food made up for that though. Nice spot to just hang out and the service is good regardless!

Hot Almond milk tea was really good! Only thing I would complain is that the drink wasn’t too hot. I wish it was hotter. Kinda sad that it’s gotten a bit more pricier($ 4) as well. But I would come back here because of the taste of the pearls and the almond!

Small café. Tables are not wiped down. Décor was cute. Not really a sit down café with too many tables. Honey toast with condensed milk, strawberries, strawberry ice cream — It was OK… We are spoiled by Hawaii’s Shokudo honey toast so our standards are high. Our party had crepes, honey toast, and waffles. We did not try any of the drinks. They have a big menu, including teas, sodas, coffee, jellies. We wouldn’t come back, unless it was with a party. If you are interested in a place with similar types of dessert, try café hue.

Meh. We came in here with 7 people after dinner to get dessert. The place looked nice, but the food was mediocre. The naplean was NOT a napolean. The waffel was overcooked. I really liked the chai tea boba drink. decent price. Was not so bad it was worth complaining about but I wont be coming back.

The interior of this café is very cute, in my opinion. It’s probably mixed between eclectic and modern styles. This is my 2nd time coming to this café. I had to drop my car off for oil change at Pacific Honda, and I decided to go to this café to kill time. I arrived in the late afternoon and it was quiet, not many customers. I tried their honey toast with Nutella sauce and strawberry, plus their milk tea without boba. Their honey toast is pretty good, although it’s a bit too sweet for me because the bread is already sweet. I’m positive the next time I come again, I won’t get their honey toast though. I would say that their prices are quite high because the honey toast itself is already $ 4.05 and each sauce/fruit will be another $ 0.75/$ 1 additional cost. Crêpe and waffle are $ 3.95 each before any topping. The more topping you request, the more $ is charged(before tax). The reason I’m giving 3 stars is because I think Up2You café is a bit too expensive. Parking is either in their lot or on the street, but I’d say most likely there is hardly opening in its private lot.

Really cool place! Good ambiance. Unfortunately, one of their smoothies just made me really sick. It must have been the syrup. I should have known they don’t use real ingredients. Wah Wah! The waffle was indeed delicious, but again I would be nervous to go back. It could just be my sensitive stomach but that had not happened before with other smoothies… My stomach feels awful):

Up2you Café’s brick toast and Taro milk tea boba are the B E S T !!! I always come here whenever I have my brick toast cravings and always bring SD visitors to this quaint/lively café. There are games to play and they provide such a fun environment for family and friends to hang out. Would recommend 10⁄10 !

Parking sucks, the place is small so do expect it to be packed. Theyve done some changes since the last time I’ve been here. The honey brick toast is delicious, that what I normally come here for, way better then the brick toast in Orange County/LA. Plus sometimes they draw cute bunnies on the side. The crepes are good as well. Try the egg custard on the crêpe, its really good. And they have other sweets as well. This place is a desert place, not an actually meal/entrée place.

I was pleasantly surprised! To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much out of this café because I had high expectations from these sort of asian dessert houses from the LA area. The interior is decorated very cutely and cozily, and it gets pretty full! They have jenga and other games available for you to borrow and play while chatting with friends. I saw people here chatting, playing games, and even working on their computers. Their desserts are kind of expensive even if you get a pretty basic dessert(like only one scoop of ice cream and no other toppings, or one scoop of ice cream & condensed milk). But, their honey toast is pretty delicious! I wasn’t expecting much but it’s definitely tasty! If you get the honey toast and don’t like your desserts too sweet, skip on the condensed milk topping and just add one other topping like a fruit or ice cream. The one thing that I really don’t like about this place is its location. It’s located in a super dark, sketchy-seeming alley and the parking lot is very very small. If you don’t have any luck with the parking lot, try street parking nearer to the main street rather than going deeper into the side street that the café is located on. It’s much better lit near the main street.

The first and original Up2you. Recently they have changed to place and added more tables and seating. We get the usual, waffle($ 3.75) with Nutella($ 0.75) and matcha ice cream($ 1.25). The waffle is good. I just wish its a bit more crispier. Napoleon($ 5.90) Loveeeee this. Wasn’t overly sweet or bland. Whip cream sandwich with layers of flakiness of crunchiness goodness, with blueberries and strawberry on top of a strawberry purée. Overall, this place is cute decorated and the workers here decorate the dessert so nicely and adorable. The down fall is the parking lot. Its super small and street parking is a must.

I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to discover this place’s existence. I came here on a Thursday night with a friend to study and it was literally the perfect environment. After placing an order of honey toast with green tea ice cream, we sat down at one of their tables with super comfy chairs(with quality seat cushions). The honey toast was really good — just the right crispiness and sweetness — and so was the ice cream — great texture and taste. It’s actually pretty rare for me to rate ice cream as even«good» since I’m not the biggest fan of ice cream to begin with, but this place definitely hit the spot. Besides the food, the entire ambience is awesome for a relaxed hangout or study session. It’s not silent, per se, but there’s white noise that’s strangely conducive to studying. Needless to say, while/after having my sugar fix, I managed to get a lot of studying done. They also have outlets so you can charge your laptop/tablet, which is super convenient. Overall, I’d highly recommend this place! Whether you’re looking for some dessert, a place to hang out, or a study spot, this place is awesome. Have I also mentioned the décor is amazing? I just love the vibe here.

A really cute place that’s tucked away on Convoy St. This place is kind of hard to find unless you’re focused on looking for it since it’s not visible from the main street. The interior is nice and eclectic with a decent amount of seating. I ordered a Taro Milk Tea and Taiyaki Puff with Custard filling. The milk tea was pretty standard that I’ve had in other boba places but a little bit too much boba for my taste. The puff was good eaten with the layer of whip cream the puff sits on. It was a very comforting little treat. Overall a lovely place for studying and group hang outs. I look forward to coming back to Up2You Café to try more of their menu!

I really like this place! I hadnt been here in a couple of years so i didnt know they had added a few more things on their menu. I got the waffle with nutella and vanilla ice cream. It was super good. Perfect crispness to the waffle! Got the peach green tea(hot) — it was all right. The place was decorated so nicely for the holidays. Really crowded during the weekend but very nice and quiet during the weekday.

I feel like i’m a regular when it comes to this place because i’m at least here every week or every two weeks… BUT, i first discovered this place before it got so much hype like when this place just opened LITERALLY. It was dead. But i’ve seen this place grow more and more and become so popular in the San Diego community. Their recently making remodeling changes and so far i’m really liking the look of this café. There seems to be more space inside and more places to sit. They even changed the look of their menu as it was a paper/cardboard menu to look at now its on flat screen tv’s !(way to go digital !!) And they added a lot more items on the menu as well. The only downside to this place is the parking. As it is sometimes difficult to find parking since you most likely have to park on the street because there’s no parking left in front(which are the only real parking spots.) FOOD: I can’t get enough of their brick toast. Probably the best i’ve tried out of all other café/hipster places i’ve tried. Their’s has so much flavor and you can add other toppings too as well. I think what also brings people here is that they decorate the dishes. Some come out looking like a masterpiece and sometimes it looks way too good to eat! Other items i’ve tried are also their crepes. Their crepes are really sweet and good too! Their sundaes are really good too ! I’ve tried their banoffee sundae and their brownie sundae as well! Their churro dessert is also good too they give you up to 2 toppings to choose to dip the churros in. I think my favorite addition to the menu they added was their taiyaki puff. Its this fish-shaped bread/waffle/pancake thing. I chose the filling to be a cream sauce which was REALLYDELICIOUS. The taiyaki puff does take a little long to come out because they have to cook/bake it a certain way but its worth the wait ! Its crispy and soft and sweet. You wont be disappointed ! Their drink selection is also really delicious. Although, i only order the same drink when i’m here and thats their island latte ice blended. Its mixed with caramel and hazelnut and espresso. Overall, I recommend coming here! Its great for friends to meet up and catch up or even play a round of uno or jenga. Because honestly, i’ve come here and done all that and my friends and I spend hours trying to find a winner for uno and its definitely a spot to chill, have great desserts, and just have a good time.

Brick toast to eat and not throw?! Where’s the fun in that?! Jk Pros: –The desserts are delicious –Custom made to what you would like or in the mood for –Free WiFi is always a good thing for those that like to lounge/study –Seating area improved for their last layout Cons: –Parking?! What parking spots?!(Very small lot, would most likely do street parking) –Gets crowded with big groups during late night weekends Custom dessert w/details: Im not always a sweet-tooth kind of guy, But when i am… i get waffles… w/strawberries(love strawberries). Their waffles and brick toast are freaken-A great. It’s crisp, but not too hard. It’s not soggy inside the toast or waffle and not dense like a cake, it is… good. Where this place is located is kind of hidden. It is off of the main road(Convoy) and behind the first initial plaza. It shares the building with a(supposedly) karaōke bar. The parking area is literally 4 – 6 lanes in front of the building, so you would probably park along the street which is alright. The décor is like modern-vintage thats kinda random but it works. The new furniture and layout makes it easy for people to move around. Before it was kinda cluttered or tight where it was hard to move around when you are sitting with your group. Service is good… thats it. Haha. Nothibg special. Would i come back? Yeah. Because i like waffles more than the brick toast. But the brick toast is still good if my friend would let me eat a piece. :)

This was incredibly confusing to find via google maps as it led me into the parking lot with a massage place/FuAn Garden on Convoy. Then again, I am a still relatively new driver and have not really driven around in the dark. If you end up in the FuAn Parking lot, know that you are actually next to it. You would need to walk towards Vicker St from Convoy and go towards your right and wa-lah! There it is. The décor differs from 2012 — but still is quite a cozy and eclectic environment. There were a lot of kids inside — ranging from middle-college probably. They even decorated for Halloween having that creepy thing by the bathroom. Plus they also decorated the interior of the bathroom for a spooky effect. This is the best place to get a sugar overload. We tried three things off the menu that you see once you walk in. For the life of me, cannot recall what they were called but I do remember one of them involved dulce de leche, another was similar to a lava cake where chocolate oozed out, and another had oreos in it. Forgot to take a picture of the menu. Best to get 2 desserts if you have 3 people. 3 was a bit too much for us as there was explosion of flavor from each dessert after we ate one. Would come again as I am interested in trying the toast which I see looks to be quite popular from all the pictures. Drinks were pretty good — but think the dessert overpowered the taste. They also have a spot if you wanted some water — self serve.

Stressed spelled backwards = desserts! Cute little(& emphasize on little) café in Convoy. It gets crowded inside & more often than not, difficult to find an open table. Their parking lot is tiny & they share it with a neighboring restaurant. Fortunately, there is street parking available but on busy nights, those can fill up quickly. But do not fret, there is another location down the road! When you do find seating, it is a great time in there. There are board games available(swap out your ID for a game) & delicious treats. I ordered: Honey Toast with: Nutella Strawberries Green Tea Ice Cream — My favorite honey toast! So sweet, thick, crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside! The additional toppings make it just that more scrumptious! Up2You Milk Tea with Boba — Sweet & creamy! The boba is chewy & delicious. Served in a mason jar.

Such a fun atmosphere! Stopped in looking so some good desserts and had been wanting to try this place! I got the strawberry cheesecake parfait and it was amazing! Bottom layer was crushed gram, then a sweet cream cheese moose, then frothy sugary strawberries. Sugar overload but so good! The site of people sitting around drinking coffee and playing card games and connect 4 in a café was hilarious… I love it! I’m already thinking of going back and definitely playing some games next time!
