I’ve been to Tuesday Mornings up and down throughout California and while this is definitely the smallest location I’ve found, it’s in a convenient location. Overall, the store itself is always well stocked with discount finds and, generally, neater and better kept than some of the larger stores(some of the other TMs in San Diego and other cities are complete disasters!). I wouldn’t make a special trip from across town or anything, but the convenience of the location and better quality finds than I’ve seen at other locations makes it a perfect place to stop when you need to pick up household items, a quick hostess gift, or presents for kids. It’s the place I go to for those last minute, emergency presents.

While located in a convenient location with plenty of parking, I’m not sure venturing into this store was a good idea. Stepping into the store for last minute greeting card, I immediately felt like I was in a stuffy, smelly garage that was storing unwanted gifts or old home goods that wasn’t good enough to be used, but not bad enough to be thrown away. It’s kind of like standing in your parents’ garage that has accumulated a massive amount of junk in the 26 years you’ve lived there. Did I paint that picture well enough? The store is set up in a way where the walkway is narrow and tables filled with nonsense junk that no one needs. I found a small stand of greeting cards at the counter and asked the store associate if there were any others and all I got was a blank stare before a deadpan«no» after a few seconds. The store associate was kind of neutral the entire time, not unfriendly, but not friendly either. I guess I’ll be back to look for stuff if I ever am in the area and it’s convenient for me at the time, but I can’t find myself saying, «Hey, maybe instead of Target for home goods, let’s go to Tuesday Morning.» So, meh, I’ve experienced better…

Tuesday Morning is a chain of discount stores across the US, which focuses mostly on closeout home goods. This store is much smaller in comparison to most Big Lots and has less of a selection of home goods, but has much better quality merchandise for the price. In comparison to a store such as HomeGoods, however, HomeGoods surpasses it in quality and selection, but is pricier of course. This Tuesday Morning is a great place for other merchandise though. I stop here before or after a trip to the Sprouts next door, when I have the time. When I had dogs, I came here for bowls, toys, treats, and beds. They have a great selection of various dog beds for less than you can find them for at Marshalls and HomeGoods. Also, I have purchased some nice stationery, unique gift wrapping products, and cool pool/outdoor toys for the kids here before.

Awesome store. Always has just what I needed and the staff is friendly and oh so helpful. Need some toys or games, home decorations, bed linens, kitchen stuff? Lots and lots choices there. It’s clean, orderly and lots of new things each time I go. Thanks for coming to our neighborhood, Tuesday Morning.

I love this store. On my last visit I found some great garden decorations. Love the bedding and rugs. I found them to be of very good quality. I definitely will come back to browse and hopefully make another big find. I suggest store not be so cluttered. Nothing worse than a cluttered store. Leave space to walk around isles.

I heard about this store from a friend. I went there for only 1 thing — jigsaw puzzles. I go through at least 1 a week. So I am constantly looking for new puzzles. This store had the biggest and best selection I’d ever seen! Much better than Target, Toys R Us, etc. Plus, the prices were about 50% less than what I’d been paying! Now I only go there to restock for my new favorite hobby.

Patience is rewarded here. Do not come in with an agenda and jewels can be found. My recent spoils include a highly rated Oster blender for 1⁄3 of the lowest online price, a Natori brassiere for ½ the Nordstrom price, and a set of super high threadcount Egyptian cotton pillowcases. Regular staples for me include gift and wine bags and party plates and napkins, which are always deeply discounted. The staff are pleasant and they keep the place relatively organized. I’m not one who normally loves braving the racks of discount stores, but this little place is really working for me.

I Looooooooooove this store. Oh my gosh… it’s clean… it’s stocked… and it always has something good. Today I bought two beautiful area rugs and they look stunning on my hardwood flooring. I bought two rugs, a beautiful serving dish, and some baskets all for less than the regular cost of one rug… about $ 60. During the holidays… I bought 1,300. worth of merchandise for $ 175.00! Looooooove this store.

While I like a bargain like everyone else, I was not impressed by Tuesday Morning. I had gone inside on my way to Henry’s… and after 5 minutes, I walked back out without purchasing anything. Picture every discount store you’ve ever been in. Now, picture the worst stuff you’ve seen in these discount stores. Stir in an unfinished feel to the place(I think it’s because I went in a month or so after the location opened — it needs some decoration, that’s for sure). Voila — that’s my Tuesday Morning experience. Give me Marshall’s, Ross, and even Big Lots any day.

My friend advised me to check the store out, cause I was looking for duvet bed sets. And while driving there I expected at least wide range of home items for less. My expectations disappeared as soon as I walked into the store. It stunk, like in vintage stores, and selection of items was even less than in rite aids. I also noticed dust on most of merchandises. Try other locations.

Tuesday Morning recently opened up in the space vacated by the UC Pharmacy so many years ago. We finally ventured in to see what exactly they sell — it’s a closeout discounter. Remember the stuff that didn’t sell when Linens N Things or Bombay went out of business — it’s for sale here. Need a 14-CD set of James Earl Jones reading the entire Bible? A comforter or lacy bedskirt? A scary looking 3-foot tall doll? Giant pillows? Pet toys? Apparel? Random(but not cool) toys? Emergency gift wrap or gift bags? It’s like a tiny Big Lots, but without food items, or the low end crap. Actually the last item in that list is something actually useful — if you live in the area, and want some gift wrap and Rite Aid isn’t cutting it, you can come here for gift wrap. After perusing the store, we didn’t see anything that struck our fancy as actually desirable(or even hilarious enough to give someone else as a gag). Maybe if you are looking to furnish your home with linens, curtains, etc, you could start here, but if you need more than what’s in stock, I’m not sure if they could get more. For a closeout discounter, it didn’t feel especially cheap.

One sniff and you can tell it is not your old Tuesday Morning. It doesn’t smell like last year. Goods seem newer. Fewer faded boxes. Prices seem higher. Go if you live in the neighborhood. If not don’t waste your time. It is also not as interesting as the old Tuesday Morning.
