Service was and they were very friendly. When we walked in the staff greeted us in Japanese which I answered back in Japanese. I am not a seafood fan but my boo said it was and if I liked it I would have to try it. They also accommodated us by changing the news to sports, thanks!

Wow wow wow! Seriously one of my favorite spots for nigiri now. For the price, the fish is very fresh. I really liked the salmon and the yellowtail, with the yellowtail being my favorite. The oysters are delicious too! I really recommend them. An order is 8 dollars and come with 4 meaty oysters and an awesome ponzu sauce. I’m not a rolls persons but I was fond of the hot kiss roll. We ordered the monkey brains roll and it was my least favorite out of everything we ordered. I don’t recommend it because no one in my party liked it. Lastly, the sashimi salad is huge and gets you very full. Overall, I will definitely be coming back!

I am a sushi fanatic and this is by far the best in my book. Everything is so fresh, exploding with flavor and the presentation is nothing short of art.

My favorite place in San Diego, definitely have to try this place if you haven’t already. The prices are reasonable which makes it easier to go in and have some great sushi. The best customer service I’ve ever experienced because everyone is your waiter or waitress. Have to try the lemon roll, best roll in San Diego in my opinion. Thanks Tokyo for a wonderful experience!

Came here this afternoon after a salsa dance class with my BF and my girl friends. They ordered udon and my BF and I went crazy ordering sushi. One of our sushi was the Hot Kiss(we ordered 3 others) and it was so delicious. I also ordered the spicy garlic edamame, but to my disappointment, there was no garlic taste; just spice, but not enough for me to enjoy. I’m giving this place 5 stars because their service was great. We were always checked on, our cups of water/hot water was always filled and service was quick. Sushi looked fresh too. Only bad part was the tables were so close to each other and the music was kind of loud. Besides that, it was great. We’ll definitely be back!

One of my regular to-go spots to pick up basic rolls from. They’re decent and very reasonably-priced. My girl and I typically order the spicy tuna, the salmon roll, and the yellowtail basic rolls. They’re pretty good at 4.95/ 5.95 per roll. My only complaint about them would be that the rice falls apart easily(this usually doesn’t happen at other sushi places so I’m guessing it’s not typical for sushi to fall apart as you pick it up with chopsticks?), so you gotta hold them with your fingers so they don’t fall apart at the end of your chopsticks and into the soy sauce. Not a huge fan of most of their specialty rolls – the only ones I enjoy are the lemon roll and the cajun deluxe roll.

This sushi spot is well situated for SDSU students and college area residents. It is nicely decorated with Japanese that give it a more authentic feel. The ambience was somewhat loud but you can still carry out a conversation while you wait for your food and drink! The food itself is very good and the only reason I didn’t give it a five-star rating was because the rolls are somewhat pricier than am accustomed to paying at my regular spot down by the Sports Arena. The sushi rolls and fish were fresh and good portions to be found in your rolls. My wife ordered the Tonkotsu noodles and she enjoyed it. My kids had Shrimp tempura roll-which they devoured– followed by your traditional rolls which they also chow down real fast. The only thing that I noticed bad was that the rolls were falling apart before we could even pick them up with our chopsticks. I had a rainbow roll, Mexican roll, and the yellow tail tail and they were all great! Definitely will go back next time we are celebrating a special birthday since they do have complimentary icecream for the birthday guest!

Seriously one of the best sushi spots in SD ! Let’s start off with the sushi. It is ALWAYS so fresh. I’ve literally tried everything off of their special rolls menu and above ! Some is my favs are the lemon roll, mango roll, and Tokyo special. My all time favorite roll would have to the HOTKISSROLL. It’s a spicy shrimp tempura crunch roll with fresh salmon on top, drenched in a pico de gallo type mixture. It is bomb AF. Depending on my mood, I either have the roll the way it comes, or with the salsa on the side. Oh, and we always get sake bombs to wash everything down ! Yum ! The ambiance is great. Ever since they moved and upgraded to this location, there usually is little to no wait to get a table ! Their customer service is always a hit ! Overall, this is definitely the place I stop by to satisfy my cravings ! Ps: the SASHIMISALAD is to die for !!

One of my favorite sushi spots. Really good rolls. I love the Las Vegas roll. The new location is way better than the last. I haven’t dined in yet but will do so in the future.

Nicely fancy for the area it’s in. I wasnt expecting there to be a nice mid to upscale sushi restaurant in this part of town. There are a lot of hole in the wall sushis around here but this place stands on its own, which is also super cool. The space inside is huge and the service is great. They will bring you little finger lights with your drink but I think you have to ask for them. There is a clear laser theme inside which adds a cool modern touch. I would take a date here if we were restricted to this part of town. I would also bring an office party or a group of friends. Cool place!

I’ve been Loha before, years ago at their older location. I stopped in for dinner and order a salmon cut roll and the chicken katsu roll. The prices escape me, but I believe the salmon roll was around $ 5 and the katsu roll around $ 9. Both rolls were quite generous with their ingredients and tasty a matter of fact. The salmon roll arrived first, and the salmon pieces in the roll relatively on the large side and of very good quality. The salmon had great fatty lines which gave it a nice rich and buttery texture. They put thinly sliced cucumber pieces in this roll and no avocado which I am commonly use to. The rolls as a whole was great and with just a touch of soy and just a little wasabi because that’s the way I roll, the roll was great eating. Pardon the pun. Great roll for the price. The chicken katsu roll was a creative roll. I like the way they not only put the breaded and fried chicken in the roll, but also laid several pieces on top. The rolls were a little on the large size so they tended to break apart, so they became a change to the chop sticks. The chicken was perfectly fried. It was crisp not greasy a bit, but moist and juicy from the chicken’s natural juices. However, what killed be was that they did not seasoned the chicken as it came out of the fryer, which was a shame because of the expertly fried up work they accomplished. The rest of the rolls’ ingredients were good and so was the presentation. I liked the drizzle of Tonkatsu sauce which added in the flavor of the chicken. The roll was served on a bed of bonito flakes and came handsomely packed with cucumber and carrots. When I first arrived, I asked to sit at the bar, but the hostess told be it was full, but upon further inspection there were only four people there and with 12 seats opened. I was a little confused as to why I was diverted from the sushi bar. Upon leaving, I made it clear, that next time I come in, I would be seating at the sushi bar, and she laughed. Anyways, the Japanese girl who served me was a sweet heart and provided great service.

Made a reservation for this past Sunday at 7p. Their window is 15 minutes or else they will give up your reservation. Sushi is inexpensive, many of the rolls under $ 10. However, they are average & simple. Fish does not taste fresh & sushi rice is hard/stale. I was very disappointed because at their first location, they made quality sushi & now that they have expanded to a bigger location, it taste like fast food sushi. In addition, customer service was slow, then rushed, & our server gave us the wrong roll — the Philadelphia Roll instead of the Pink Roll. When I notified him of this mistake, he acted as if I was the one mistaken. He saw that he was wrong & instead of offering me my correct roll, he asked if I wanted to keep the Philadelphia Roll. I said no, I want to get the Pink Roll then he said if I kept the Philadelphia Roll, which had 2 pieces eaten already because my boyfriend thought it was the roll I ordered, that I would have to pay for it… What a waste, he probably threw it away but I was not going to pay for a roll I did not order. After that, he never came back to help us & had another server help us. Good riddance! Salmon Nigiri — Good. 2 pieces with an additional salmon on the side. Volcano #2(Spicy Scallop Baked) — I enjoyed the sauce it was baked with. Pink Roll = Salmon on top of spicy tuna — Decent. Crazy Dragon Roll = Shrimp tempera, avocado, fresh water eel on top) — Delicious but on this roll, the sushi rice was mushy & the roll was coming apart. Heart Attack = Deep fried, jalapeños, spicy tuna, cream cheese, salsa — Honestly, do not waste your money on this. The salsa was too much & unnecessary. It made the tempura soggy. Philadelphia Roll — The cream cheese was overwhelming, they put too much, almost half the size of the piece of sushi.

This is by far the best Sushi I have had in San Diego yet. AND… they have lasers and house music… so what more can you ask for. The quality of food is just outstanding and the attention to detail in the plating is beautiful. The staff is so friendly and happy to serve. You have to see it for yourself. Thanks so much and see you again soon!

My boyfriend and I tried this place because we ended up reading the great reviews. It was fairly easy to find and parking was easy to get as well. When we first walked in we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant was clean and well organized. The menu had a good amount of different items and all looked good. We stuck with the more salmon type sushi and we weren’t disappointed. The food was fresh and melted in your mouth. The service was nice and our server was very helpful in helping us pick out what we can order. He also came to fill our drinks, bring our food and clear our table with a reasonable amount of time. Not a bad place to go and enjoy some sushi. I’d give this place a try if you’re looking for a new sushi place.

Definitely one of the more upscale sushi places I’ve been to. I’ve never gone here prior to renovation, but this place looks great inside! Very spacious and the interior décor is amazing. Ordered the double double roll and it was delicious. The sauce was a little sweet, and everything tasted fresh. We ordered calamari tempura and tornado potato for appetizers, and they were just okay, nothing too special. Great place for a big party, service was really good, and atmosphere is nice!

This place has always been one of my favorite sushi spots in all San Diego! They used to be in a smaller location and the wait was always at least 30mins-2 hours on ANY day! But I’m glad that they have moved to a larger location and its only down the street from the original location. Their new location is soooo much bigger and spacious! They also have a large parking lot so there’s always parking available! They have bar seating, small tables, and large tables. Their customer service is always on point. For some drinks and desserts, they come with a cool light up led ring!(: Some of my favorite rolls are: + Hot Kiss Roll — #1 Favorite, MUSTTRY! Always taste fresh and delicious + Lobster Roll — They give you alot of fat pieces of lobster! + Hawaiian Roll — deep fried goodness + Monkey Brains Roll — deep fried spicy tuna in mushroom deliciousness + Las Vegas Roll — more deep fried goodness + Crunchy Fried Scallop Roll — Half deep fried, half covered in crunchiness and probably more that I can’t think of right now. Let’s just say that they have really amazing sushi for very reasonable prices!!!

Tajima Ramen House has been my favorite ramen restaurant… until now. Tokyo Sushi Loha’s tonkatsu ramen is astounding and will give popular ramen house such as Tajima, Yakitori Yakyudori & Ramen, Rakiraki Ramen and Ramen Yamada run for its money. The broth is cooked for 12 hours to give that rich almost creamy flavor. The pork they put in is a little crispy which made this restaurant a winner in my book. The ramen noodle itself is also cooked exactly how i like it… not over cooked and sludgy like some other ramen place. I also got the salmon skin roll and this too was fantastic. Now what made very happy in this restaurant is that they have desserts. Not many sushi and ramen place has desserts and if they do they usually have one or two items only. Tokyo Sushi Loha’ has a good list of desserts to choose from. One item that they had that i had to absolutely try was their pistachio cheese cake as i love pistachio anything. Took a bite of it and i was in pistachio heaven! I dont even have words to describe it so i say anyone reading this give the pistachio cheesecake a try. Now on to the staff. This restaurant I would give more than 5 stars if I could because they have excellent customer service. Tokyo Sushi Loha’s staff is welcoming and very attentive. Water never goes empty and finished plates get quickly taken away. I really didn’t have to wait for anything long because they were just on it. I will definitely be coming back as i want to try their other rolls, shoyu ramen and more desserts.
