Total dive with live music. I was only there for about an hour but it was a laid back spot to grab a beer.

Everything I like about a dive: Live music with no cover People wearing clothes not purchased at Joyce Leslie(OK, I own some, but there are bars where you just DONOTWEAR spandex or sequins) Reasonably-priced Craft beers(why do East Coast dives insist on mostly offering crappy beer?) If you are visiting Pacific Beach, and you do not want thumping bass, I highly recommend The Tiki House. We just chilled at the bar for a couple of hours, enjoying the music of a local trio, and it was perfect.

Best of the best for Dive bars. Welcome change of pace from the ‘collegey’ atmosphere of a lot of PB bars. Good service & okay beer selection. Like the live music nights. One note — no liquor!

I’ve been there twice now and unpleasant experiences both times. First was on a Thursday or something and I ordered a glass of wine. Don’t do it, ever. Save yourself! This place is definitely meant for cheap beer drinking. I had a Chardonnay and eek, it was so vinegar/acidic. Clearly it had been open for quite a few days. I couldn’t really get the bartenders attention because she was chatting with customers on the other end of the bar, so I just didn’t drink it. The second time was a Friday night. Apparently there was supposed to be live music, but the artist was running late or something and it was about 10:30pm. Strange crowd, very dive bar-ish, but that’s all I had growing up in my hometown, so normally dive bars are my favorite spots. This one just doesn’t hit the spot, unfortunately.

We were trying to go to the Tap Room but they were closed so we went to the Tiki House instead. –Very small dive bar in PB –Not many choices for beers and drinks –Cash only –No covers –Friendly bartender –Street parking on Garnet is always difficult It was alright but I don’t think I will come back.

Great low key pub in PB. In the middle of pub crawl area for PB, this place will save your sanity from the lines and tough guys that PB is notorious for. Rhino, the bartender with the ponytail, is as friendly as they get and if Nick is in town working the door or the bar, you couldnt pick a better guy to chat with. They usually have live music, sometimes a cover but its not steep so dont be cheap. If anything, it keeps the dummies that just got kicked out of Tavern and Baffon Salon from coming in. Of note, they only have beer and gas station brand wine. Oh and they only take cash but they have an ATM.

A hidden PB gem. PB tourists(ye who come in from out of town, not just Arizona, start fights, crowd my bars, pee in my bushes, etc.) probably won’t be into Tiki, but those that like good times and good people should check it out. It’s not ‘a craft beer bar’ in terms of marketing, but it has a pretty great selection of craft brews. Limited liquor, so if you want a martini, this isn’t your spot. Staff and clientele is always nice. Door guy isn’t there to be an asshole, just to keep assholes out. And a killer videogame system that has a ton of 80’s classics like Burger Time, Dig Dug and more. Cash only, which is clearly labeled at the register. There’s ATM’s It’s a come-as-you-are joint, so if you’re expecting a coat check or bathroom attendant, bring a friend of the same sex to help you out. Did I mention the live music? Live music most days of the week! Some people sleep on Tiki… that’s fine, more space for my crew!

A Pacific Beach dive bar. Popped in on a slow afternoon and we were the only one in the house. Cool small bar. Our gal serving us was very kind.

Most places were closed at late, so I had to whip out Unilocal to look for somewhere open. Never heard of this place, never seen it in my life. Great atmosphere. The musician was impressive with a list of about 100 songs he could play that we could choose from. Pretty good voice that added a lot of fun to the night. Nothing much to say. Thanks Unilocal for the find. Oh and the Bartender might look really mean but he’s actually a very kind and nice guy.

Great Unilocal find was this cool little bar in PB. It was Christmas Eve so even the local beach bars were kinda slow. I checked The Tiki House calendar and they listed a Jimmy Lewis, playing at 9:00. We strolled in to a few regulars(all guys) chillin with their beers and a huge mean looking Btender. Uh boy, said our glances to each other. HMLB turned out to be the friendliest Btender one could ever hope for. Whew! Crowd and owner dude were all friendly as well, and they even have Lucy the house dog spreading her love with the patrons. Loved that. Jimmy was also much better than we could have hoped for, playing atypical bar songs such as Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, and Castles Made of Sand. Kats got talent, totally unexpected in this particular time and place. When in PB, highly recommended.

Really cool little bar in PB. I don’t often go to dive bars, but when I do i go to the Tiki House. Not really, but really I would! This was my first time at the Tiki Bar, but it certainly won’t be my last. Went on a Friday night and there was a cover charge because there was a live band playing that night: The Accidentals. They’re a cover band and had a page of available song requests that people could make. The guy at the door was cool and charged the three of us $ 5 instead of $ 5 each, which was nice of him. Draft beers were 3 bucks a pop: Victoria(mexican) and Primo(island lager). both decent beers DISCLAIMER: THISIS A BEERANDWINEBARONLY! Don’t come here expecting to order shots or whiskey. Also, this place is cash only! The crowd was a nice mix of people and has a friendly atmosphere. Recommended!

I didn’t think it would be possible to be at a place where you could drink that is laid back, and not filled with rowdy people off Garnet? Perhaps my favorite PB small dive bar for the locals with the regulars and live music. Affordable beer and wine and cash only bar. ATM, juke box and arcade game inside. Bartender was nice.

This is my absolute favorite dive bar in SD, especially PB! The beers are always cheap! They have live music most of the time! There is a pool table! They are never TOO packed!(so don’t come) :~P It is my ultimate low key spot to grab a couple and hang with some friends. CASHONLY, ATM inside if you have a card.

Just another regular dive bar, but at least it’s in PB. I was expecting some exotic cocktails to be served here, but, nope, it’s just a name, just beer and booze here. They do have a few tiki statues here and there. There’s a unique and distinct smell as you first walk into this place. But you get used to the odor in a matter of minutes. Hey, their happy hour is pretty cool, $ 3 on all drafts. Can’t really complain about that. They also have a pool table, ATM, a golf video game, a few tv’s, jukebox, and a breathalyzer. Bathroom was semi dirty, with a bunch of flies hovering around. So no mai tai here, I guess a Heineken will suffice.

despite it’s narrow and small space I actually had a good time. The guitar player was great and I actually sang-a-along to his music. It’s an interesting bar cuz against the wall are benches that are high up. I’d definitely go back here

Don’t try ordering shots at this Beer Only bar. Tiki House is very small, but a very laid-back and comfortable dive bar. There’s also often a band playing here, but there can also be a cover. It’s a fun place, prices are reasonable and it’s a nice break from the typical Pacific Beach crowd(need I explain them? you know who I mean).

My favorite dive bar in Pacific Beach for sure. Tiny little place. A lot of people walk right past it not knowing how laid-back and cool it is inside. Just your neighborhood bar. The staff is really great. Ryan the bartender is outrageous and funny and will make you a «Drop Your Panties» to start off your night. They actually know what they’re doing here and offer some good beers on draft. I have heard some pretty good bands play here, they always have music going on. The regulars are pretty awesome too. I much prefer this place to the other deuchebag college student filled bars in Pacific Beach.

Cool little place in the muck of of PB. I played here a couple times during my band days. There was barely room for the four of us on the stage. We loved playing there. They have music of lot of nights and it fun even when there isn’t. Pretty standard bar, except the size is small and perfect for that reason. The staff is also great. Great place to stop in for a drink, and mingle with some regulars.

Following our awesome visit to Lestats we set off to PB in search of live music and fun times. Not found here. Not my kind of place at all. We came to Tiki because the bf googled something and it said there was a band playing. As I am not a fan of the dreaded ‘cover charge’, I wasnt thrilled there was one. Whatever I guess. We go in and it just felt ick. The ‘bar’ area was an extremely unattractive storage facility as everything that was on it was junk from a box of popcorn, to stacks of paper to those weird pre-bottled mixers. Strike one. So we sit down as the band is setting up. Im already suspecting something less than awesome, not good. One of the bfs friends goes up and orders a few drinks. Wine and beer only? And not good priced beer? Uhh… Strike two. Band starts playing and it was just what I was suspecting. STRIKETHREE. Enough to make the dudes chug their beers so we could dash out. FAIL. Wont be returning. Have a great day!
