I have visited San Diego twice now and ate at The New Yorker more than once each trip! It is a super chill, fun bar and the pizza by the slice is large, inexpensive and delicious! The bartenders and staff are always super friendly as well! Last night I actually left a cocktail party I was at a street over with my fiancé to run over to The New Yorker for a quick slice before they closed. As I showed up they were literally locking the door, they saw my disappointment and actually offered to go back in and make me a slice. I waited outside chatting with a few of the locals and they returned a few minutes later with three giant slices in a to-go box for me, on the house! Now I love The New Yorker even more! I recommend the BCR but every kind I’ve had I liked! I will be back again every time I’m in town! Thank you again for satisfying my late night hunger!

The security guard was super nice. We ordered 2 slices to go — one was the All in pizza and the other a cheese pizza. The cheese was bland and not very good and the all in pizza was too salty. I did not like the ones we got but the whole pizzas that people were eating inside looked good. It’d be nice to have a better pizza by slice selection and fresh made pizzas instead of stale tasting ones. Maybe ill go back to try the other stuff on the menu.

I really enjoyed the pizza and beer. I had a medium meat lovers pizza and two 394 Pale Ales. I am a big eater and had plenty of pizza left over. I would highly recommend this place. Can’t believe I flew all the way across the country to eat New York style pizza, I’m glad I did.

East Coast Pizza on the West Coast… sounds pretty good to me! We were hungry late one night so of course pizza sounded delicious. Staying at the Hard Rock Hotel I was calling around to see who would deliver. Although there were closer pizza joints around, The New Yorker was the first one who said yes. They gave us a 40 minute time frame of when our pie would arrive. Wouldn’t you know it… right on time! It was also right to our room. Staying in other cities at various hotels, many of them have you come down to the lobby to pick up your pizza. The gentlemen delivering was very friendly and accommodating. He had all of the dining accessories we needed: plates, silverware, napkins, parmesan cheese and crushed red pepper. I tipped him quite nicely! The pizza definitely hit the spot. We ordered the Meat Lover Pizza which included pepperoni, sausage, ham and bacon. Since sausage flavors can sometimes vary, it determines whether I like it or not. This sausage had a great flavor. I especially liked with thinness and flavor of the crust. It would be a pizza I’d order again. The only snafu was the size we wanted. I wanted a small. She said they only made this pizza in medium or large. Of course I opted for medium. Behold a large was at our door. Oh well. It wasn’t the delivery guys fault. I would be happy to enjoy a slice from the New Yorker again. Thanks!

Best pizza downtown, especially if you’re a gluten free fan like me. Additionally; the service level is on point. I ordered delivery tonight and received an awesome aloha pizza and mango wings. They forgot some of the ranch, but were apologetic and raced back as soon as I called. We’re human and everyone forgets things on a busy night. What made all the difference was a quick response and resolution. 10⁄10 will order from here again.

Small place in Gaslamp, decent pizza ok wings and sandwiches. Our waitress was great but the bartender was questionable. We ordered a ale and ended up getting sculpin twice. Then we had a vodka shirley temple and when we ordered another one it came in a copper cup and tasted obviously different, it was a moscow mule. When we asked the bartender he said they were out of regular glasses and served our vodka shirley temple in a moscow cup… lazy! Just make the right drink again but whatever. Food was ok to boring, pizza crust was tasty as well as the sauce, chicken sandwich was boring not very much fanfair. Probably wouldn’t go again.

Can you guess how much the floor is worth?!! This is great tasting NY style pizza. Pizza by the slice $ 3 cheese, $ 3.50 pepperoni! Perfect for kids or lunch! A nice find since there’s many expensive things in this area. Pricing is reasonable for the area, great pricing on the slice. Other menu items too: salads, wings sliders dogs, pasta. Thanks to Eddie Spaghetti for great customer service and making my kids laugh. This is a bat setting with seating and isn’t just for kids.

The coolest atmosphere in downtown San Diego, Gaslamp area! You will love the take some pics at that floor filled with coins, such a cool idea. I actually entered there because of the graffiti at the wall, as I am a lover of this art genre. Great job done, especially the funny police man and the lady ‘seating’ at the table. The pizza is authentic New York style and the dim light and brick walls will make you think you are there. Not a bad place to have a pizza and a beer late at night.

We ordered pizza to go from here and the portions are huge. A large has 8 slices per pie. We ordered the Aloha Pizza, the All In Pizza, a house salad and the bone in buffalo wings. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food. The favorite seemed to be the buffalo wings and the sauce that came with it. The pizza is thin crust and has generous, premium quality toppings. I would highly recommend this place to friends!

Love this hidden gem. Came here twice within a one week span. My photo clients invited me here to join them for dinner and what a find. There were about 15 of us and we all were seated comfortably and our waitress was often available. Service is friendly and attentive. Good:

Stopped by for a beer in the sun. Nice selection of beers. The pizza looked great but we dicided on chicken wings and the where good but drenched in sauce… Menus sticky and dirty, don’t really like that.

Found this spot late night while hunting for craft beer in the gas lamp district. Tried the Bacon chicken ranch New York style pizza with a Grapefruit Sculpin. Winning combination. Pizza was hot and fresh. Right amount of cheese with sauce. Hit the spot. Best pizza I’ve had on the west coast. Bonus wings when you check in on Unilocal.Couldn’t decide what were better, the wings or the pizza. Slight edge for the pizza but def recommend the wings. Or just check in and get them free! Definitely a repeat when I’m back at gas lamp.

First timers here. We’re in gaslamp for the weekend and were looking for a good pizza spot. Found this place on Unilocal & decided to give it a try. It was about 100 yards away from the hotel we are staying at so it was an obvious choice. We ordered the buffalo wings and the ranch was AMAZING! In my opinion, I thought that the wings were a little over sauced but the flavor was very good. We also ordered the meat lovers pizza; giant, foldable, New York slices which were covered in an array of meat. I thought the pizza was delicious; though, could’ve had more cheese.

This pizza joint was just ok for me. Great late night eatery and hangout spot. Great beer selection… but the place smelled like moldy beer. Order: –Margherita Pizza: one of my favorite pies! But I swear the tomatoes tasted so dirty! Super turn off considering that’s mainly why I love Margherita pizzas. –House salad: surprisingly great and a good portion size. Loved the shaved Parmesan. –Drinks: kept is simple with a soda… which had a hint of cleaning product to it. Not sure if I would make it a point to return. Maybe just for the salad.

I decided to try a few slices and salad to go at this Gaslamp pizza bar. It’s a really cute place that I’ve always wanted to try since seeing it on Groupon when it first opened. I live in between the New Yorker and Gaslamp Pizza, but decided to try the New Yorker for a change. Ordering pickup on Eat 24 was a breeze. I promptly picked up my order from the cute and friendly hostess. I took it home & everything was there/correct. The house salad was pretty phenomenal, as it should be for $ 8… Sliced pepperocini, shaved parmesan, and fresh greens, carrots, and onions. The pizza on the other hand… Well, I won’t be ordering that again. It was just a cheese slice, which I love; but it was very oily with soggy crusts and nothing really remarkable about the flavor, cheese, etc. There are too many options for pizza to just be average in the Gaslamp.

This place was great! Mostly for the food and drink, at least to my taste. It’s an eclectically decorated place with a nice vibe and great food. Unfortunately, they have loud TV monitors with football games on them and that dominates the scene. And, the service was just OK. With all that aside, the food was tops. I ordered two slices one was the chicken pizza and one was the everything pizza. Both were phenomenal. I am a pizza snob and I love New York style pizza. The everything pizza fit the bill. It was tasty, and folded just the way it should. They have a nice selection of beers, and were very nice about offering tasters. I would definitely come back to this place, and recommend it.

Great place, great atmosphere, loved the look of the bar area! Came here on a Saturday afternoon the server she was super sweet and very attentive. Our drinks were refilled constantly, the server came over to us a few times. The ambience was really cool. We ordered the All in pizza, slices of cheese pizza, sizzling wings and a wrap. Everything came out just the way we liked it! Food was good, the pizza came out piping hot and my brother enjoyed his beer/wings. None of us had any complaints about this place, the food was inexpensive and the best part was that we got 20 percent off with a Unilocal check in! All in all a great place, would definitely recommend!

The food at the Convention Center is awful, so during Comic-Con we make a point to head offsite for better options but it is often crazy packed everywhere. We decided to try out the New Yorker up the way and were greeted kindly and sat at the bar. Leah provided great service and had a friendly calm attitude despite the packed house. I opted for a pizza slice and salad. Pizza was average(I think it might be better when the place isn’t so slammed from Comic-Con) but the salad was delicious. As noted in my hubby Chun P’s review — craft brews here are $ 4 – 6!!! INTHEGASLAMP! Friendly service, fresh salads, pizza & cheap beer? YESPLEASE. Thanks, New Yorker!

Disclosure: I came specifically for Comic Con with a $ 15 for $ 25 Groupon in hand :) $ 4 – 6 Craft beers… these seem to be the cheapest prices for craft beer on this side of the Gaslamp! Good variety too for every taste… Alesmith’s Horney Devil, one of my favorites, was only $ 6! :) $ 3.50 Pizza Slices… I hate to say this, but it really reminded me of Costco pizza. The owner and chef should go try the New York pizza slices at Bronx, Regents, or Luigi’s…thats what I’m talking about. That said, it wasn’t bad, as pizza is always pretty good general. Maybe it was a off day because of the Comic Con masses; I’ll give it another try someday. $ 8 Buffalo Wings…6 wings doused in lots of hot buffalo spice. Good, but too hot for me! They need a wimpier sauce for wimps like me. Leah the Bartender, and the other gals, were all fast and fabulous!
