Best Pizza in San Diego!!! Awesome service, awesome atmosphere! It’s extremely convenient to get to in downtown gaslamp. I would highly recommend that you come and grab a slice or stay and grab an entire pizza.

Good food and evenly priced. The people are great. Attentiveness is kind of on the slow side, but once they get to you it’s great.

Well, I was feeling totally bloated and full of In N Out Burger and 2 beers, thus I wanted something to give me some sort of buzz. The establishment had a liquor bar, the correct glassware, and shakers. Thus I ordered a martini. A guy who looked about 19 attempted to make my drink. He grabbed the incorrect glass with his fingers inside the glass(they do have martini glasses). He wiped away the haze on the glass with a dry napkin, and filled it with well liquor. I had already paid for premium liquor. This guy from what I could tell had never made a mixed drink in his life, which is management’s fault for putting him in that position. He didn’t use the shaker, and didn’t know to hold glassware by the stem. I called him out on his inability to not put his fingers in the glassware, and that wiping it with a napkin was not sufficient. He had no idea that this was not kosher. I ended up leaving as I had no confidence they could deliver anything beyond pouring a beer.

I came here after going out at gas lamp. It’s open pretty late and there’s tons of seating inside. The line is long and takes forever, but that’s expected. It also took us a while to get food but it wasn’t too bad. We ordered a box to go and we’re on our way in no time. The pizza is okay and the size is pretty big. Stop by if you’re in the area looking for a late night bite!

Their pizza is really good! I had two slices, the margarita and the veggie. Very filling and not that expensive at all! Two slices and a drink $ 10 it was so delicious and the staff was really friendly. Need to hit this spot up when you’re downtown! Thumbs up!

This place sucked. $ 1.50 per topping. So, if you want the works or a deluxe pizza, you’re gonna pay like $ 10 extra bucks. No thin crust options and when we asked about it, the server looked at us like we were crazy. I ordered a one-topping individual pizza and it was just ok. This would be fine except that’s what this place is supposed to be all about – pizza. I’m not sure what exactly is going on here, but this is definitely one of those types of places that you think must be a cover for some other much more lucrative business. No way this place is gonna last too long.

Great service by Issbella. Went in for happy hour and stayed for the food. Ordered chicken Parmesan. Had the house piano Grigio. Trying the Chardonnay next because we’ll definitely be back!

My friend and I came came to this pizza spot after seeing a nice man holding a pizza sign. We were told that they were open until 3am! They also had ricotta cheese topping(which is my fav!) We came into the restaurant and we were greeted right away. My friend and I had different preferences on what kind of toppings we wanted and was told that we can do different toppings on half of the pizza. Score! After being helped by our server, our pizza was done in 15 – 20 minutes. As soon as we got back to our hotel, excited to open our box of pizza, our order was wrong. We received something completely different. Toppings we never asked for. Very disappointed, especially because we spent $ 30 on a box of pizza. Overall, the pizza was okay. It could have been better if we actually got the toppings we ordered. Location — Good location. Surrounded by a lot of bars which is very convenient to go after having a few drinks.

My son is a pizza snob. He only eats local, thin crust, NY style pizza now. We stopped here when walking through the gas lamp, ordered a slice of cheese(which took longer than it should have to throw in the oven to warm). It was good enough for him to finish, I’ll be back. There were a bunch of other pizzas that I would like to try. One slice is about $ 4 and the slice is pretty big.

I usually don’t write a review after eating a place once, but this one deserves it. If I’m ever in the Gaslamp late at night and craving pizza I MIGHT give them another shot. Where to start? they have a sign right on the counter if you like them on FB or check in on Unilocal you get a free breadstick. I check in and show the guy «you can’t get a breadstick for that» — him «why the sign then?» — me «You can get one, but you have to also leave a comment saying how good the place is or something» LOL really? I hadn’t even tried it but I’m suppose to rave about it, I wasn’t in the mood to argue on what was clearly posted. So I paid $ 2 or whatever for a breadstick. The pizza was cold, I thought they would put it in the oven for a minute after you order like Bronx Pizza. Oh, I got it by the slice so it was just sitting there, but when I sat down a took a bite, it was basically room temp, and it wasn’t even warm outside. WTF! Breadstick was decent, it was stuffed with cheese, but they didn’t heat it up or anything. AND it should have been free WTF. Beer was good, but Coronado Islanders IPA is great, and this place shouldn’t get extra stars for that. The guy working was clearly uninterested and not very helpful. The pizza, even though cold seemed pretty decent. Would probably even be good if it was, I dunno heated up. Breadstick, the same issue as the pizza. I would have given them 1 star, but I don’t ever give 1 stars out. This place is pretty bad. The only 2 positives are 1. it’s open late and 2. they have craft beer on tap. Everything I ordered was literally pre made and just sitting there in the display. All he did was plop it on a plate and give it to me. I can imagine how bad the food would have been had I ordered something where he actually had to make it. I’m also perturbed that when I tried to take my beer out on the patio to sit under the heat lamp and enjoy the night I was told no beer outside. Now I don’t know if this is their rule, or a SD rule about drinking, so I can’t dock them for that(unfortunately) lol

Pizza here is always up to par! I highly recommend it, my friends and I enjoy some pizza and drinks. They have a variety of drinks and have coronado islander, one of the best. Best pizza on 5th Ave. Great service, by the girl attendants/servers.

Do you enjoy to eat where roaches roam right next to you while eating a slice of pizza? This is the place to be!!! I’ve been here before and it has been a great experience, but after I saw a roach crawl right next to me while I was eating it made me want to vomit. I brought it up to the cashier’s attention and it was no surprise to her. Pictures posted.

Maybe it’s because I came late at night and most of my friends were buzzed on many shots of liquor, but the pizza was awful here. I understand that it’s late at night, but there were lots of people in the restaurant and there was a long line out the door. Actually, we came because there were people advertising on the street so we popped by for a quick bite. So obviously they’re trying to attract people to the restaurant late night, so there’s no excuse for old and stale pizza. Old and stale was exactly what the pizza tasted like. Both slices of my pizza were dry and flavorless with dry hard cheese on top. It tasted and looked like it’s been sitting out all day.

Solid choice for pizza if you’re downtown. We were bar hopping on a Saturday night when the urge for pizza hit us – luckily only two doors down from the Tipsy Crow is Pizza on 5th. They’ve got individual slices, extra large pizzas, cheese sticks(which are surprisingly good-cheese on the inside, whaat?!), fried zucchini, they’ve got everything your little drunk heart desires. You can tell this place values well-made food; we were all ogling the gigantic tub of cheese just behind the counter that the pizza professional kept reaching into. We ordered an XL pizza with four or five different toppings and it came out beautifully – delicious, not too oily, the ingredients tasted fresh, and reasonably priced. Six of us ordered the zucchini, cheese sticks, and the pizza, and left full and happy. If you appreciate the little restaurants/shops more than chains, Pizza on 5th is definitely a good choice.

As I have alluded to in previous pizza reviews the No1DP loves his pizza. Whenever he’s in the US he tries to visit one pizza place to satiate his cravings. This place was convenient as it was open past 10pm and after a long day at Comic-Con, the group was famished. CONCEPT: New York-style pizza where the slices are big, the cheese is oozing out of the slice and the most appropriate way to eat it is to take the pie out of the plate and shove it into mouth, using the plate to catch any cheese, sauce and toppings. When the No1DP saw me using utensils I was quickly corrected in proper technique; apparently if I were to do this in New York I would be laughed at. VENUE: Casual pizza parlor located smack dab on Gaslamp’s 5th street. There’s a bar on the right and booths on the left. The booth we sat in was torn and had its stuffing exposed, a huge pet peeve of mine. This was on one side so I sat in the other side. SERVICE: Good service from the waitress. This was much appreciated in the late hours. DRINKS: I forgot what the rest of the party had exactly but I had a Belching Beaver Peanut Butter Stout on tap. I had it earlier back at the hotel but their serving here confirmed that this is on my list of top 5 beers — the peanut butter is not too strong but it is quite a malty beverage, heavily roasted and has heavy coffee notes. This is definitely a beer for the coffee lovers. My group had the following: — 10 piece chicken wings($ 9) smothered in buffalo sauce and with a side of ranch. The chicken was glistening with buffalo sauce and tasted like it has just come from the fryer. Meat was hot yet quite soft. — Large 16″ pizza($ 13) containing pepperoni, mushrooms and green peppers. Crust was slightly crispy, signifying it had been cooked out of an oven. Cheese was hot enough to ooze out of the pizza but not too hot to eat on first bite. Toppings tasted fresh. Slice was big enough so that I was contented with eating one slice. — Dessert consisted of tiramisu($ 5). It was less than satisfying and looked like it was bought prepackaged. Mascarpone was too frozen and the liqueur soaking the ladyfingers was weak. Because of their late hours and that pizza is generally agreed upon«hangover cure» food I would definitely visit this place if I’m out in the Gaslamp for a drink crawl. They serve a good slice and for those that for some reason aren’t finished drinking there’s beer and wine. The No1DP was content that he was able to get a good pizza slice for his latest trip to San Diego. The rest of the group enjoyed this place as it was one of the cheap options to eat in the Gaslamp.
