Half self serverd café. Okay for a simple breakfast and coffee. The turkey and swiss panini was good but the pasta side was cold and hard to chew. The cashier at the front desk was friendly and attentive.

When I visit San Diego I love the farmers market on Saturdays in little Italy. I had been there about 2 hours and found myself in front of this place. I walked in, waited in line and asked for a bottle of water and the rest room key– I was immediately informed that I couldn’t expect to use the bathroom by purchasing a bottle of water. I thought to myself, $ 3 bottle of water or a $ 4 coffee. I was still a customer. Perhaps they don’t like the 3000 people the market draws to them each week. Who needs that kind of exposure. My advice– Post a sign that says rest room inside– pastries, coffee or beverages are $ 3 What better way to get a bunch of people to try your products. Good luck tazza de oro– I’m rooting for failure

cute coffee shoppe and café in the heart of little italy in downtown san diego. hubby and i came here with some friends and were lucky to score a corner table with just the right number of seats as it was fairly crowded late on a saturday morning. in addition to the usual tea and coffee drinks, they offered a wide assortment of pastries including american macaroons, cookies, and cakes. i had a small peach decaf tea which had a very pleasing aroma and taste. we sat and chatted for about an hour before heading out. there is a single unisex bathroom in the rear which can be a bit of a wait esp when the café gets busy. the weekly farmer’s market is just outside the café, which makes for a nice stroll on a saturday morning-afternoon.

Decent coffee, terrible food. Has a patio. Ordered a turkey and swiss panini. Came luke-warm, cheese not melted, and nothing but swiss, turkey and some redish sauce on the panini. Very disappointing. The side of pasta was crunchy — which I’m not sure if it was because it was stale or uncooked. The only redeeming item was their patio.

A great little coffee shop on the corner downtown. Dogs were allowed inside and outside on the patio. Of course, they brought their owners. I had the blueberry scone and a house coffee. The scone was really good if you like taking the top off of muffins and tossing the rest. The coffee was just that, a coffee. They get the 4 stars for easy service, clean place, and just cool place to relax, enjoy conversations, and watch passerby stroll thru a bright San Diego day.

Warm friendly service every single time I go in. Coffee, Americano. and Mocha(hot and cold) have all been great — rich and strong but never bitter. There are a lot of coffee shops to choose from in the area, but this is probably my favorite.

I enjoyed my first visit of this little gem located in Little Italy. Beautiful seating area outside and inside there is accommodating furniture that reeks of a classic sit down coffee joint. The staff are super friendly, and will go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. My friend told the owner that the place was hot inside. The owner was so sweet to plug in a fan to cool down the place and offered us some water. Now, I did not purchase coffee at this time because it was past my time to enjoy my cup of joe. In my opinion coffee is best enjoyed between the early hours of the morning and ten o’clock am. I ordered a turkey panini with red pepper sauce. When the plate containing the panini came out, I noticed there was some small fan shaped pasta nicely placed by the sandwich. You can tell this place has a thing for aesthetics. Need a place to relax and lounge or perhaps do some work at, check this place out. I forgot to mention there is free wi-fi. Next time, I will definitely get some coffee beverage. Deducted 2 stars because this place does not serve fresh items, it seems like everything is pre-made. Make your items fresh and I will swing around more often!

Not the best at this café. We walked in to find Costco muffins, bagels, and other foods. Already not impressive. We ordered the coffee to a girl who we had to repeat our orders twice, followed by a long wait and my drink still not coming out right. I ordered a simple iced soy mocha. When it was made correctly it tasted burnt and all of the chocolate was on the bottom. The guy was nice, though, and threw in a free extra shot, which is pretty much the only reason this place gets two stars.

All I need to say is Costco everything, with jacked up prices, and they spit in my wife and My Coffees… Avoid at all cost…

I’ve been coming to this gem of a coffee shop for quite some time. They have the BEST Acai Bowls hands down. They even give you the option of having the acai bowl blended with orange juice or almond milk. I have tried other acai bowls in the area and they make the best in the area. Great service too! My whole office now orders acai bowls from Tazza d’oro. Cheers!

Close to the worst service I’ve had a coffee shop. Only people in the place and waited 15 minutes for a latte while the barrista made herself sandwich and took out the trash. Cheers! Oh…and then she got the order wrong.

Why are there flies everywhere? They haven’t taken out the trash in awhile, cleaned well or there’s water sitting somewhere. It just seemed dirty.

I like the vanilla parfait! It was not that sweet and the texture is just about right. Not too sticky nor too liquid. But the scone is awful… kind of like wooden stuffs… not a fan of it

Not bad, but not great. I think charming Little Italy deserves better coffee than the one offered by Tazza d’oro(gold cup in Italian). It is not horrible but does not taste great. Pastries look good but when you try them they taste like rubber or are too dry. I have never had an exceptional experience there. Just stopped again on Sunday because I was with a girlfriend and her son wanted some ice cream and was the closest provider. My coffee was kind of burnt and her ice-cream was excessively big, even though she asked for the smallest. Still, the location is very nice, lots of space, quiet, tons of free magazines to browse or stay at the patio and do some people watching. Even if I am not a fan of Starbucks and this place does not seem to be a chain, I would rather choose the first one. Service always good and friendly.

Stopped in with BCBP in order to burn some time before dinner. The café is cute and offers ice cream and other treats. Service: The young lady working was really sweet. It took a bit of time for our order to be taken but after that we got our drinks quick. She had a smile and even brought our drinks over to use. Irish Cream Latte: Not really any flavor it tastes plain. I was a little disappointed. The cost was about what one would expect in this area. Seating: The couch seating at first looks really fun and quirky. However when you take a closer look you will notice that those living room type chairs are dirty and really worn. I could see the wear patterns which isn’t a huge deal, but they also had a dirty look which made me feel weird sitting in them. In all, I would give this place another try but I doubt I will be sitting in one of those chairs again. I just couldn’t bring myself to rest my back on something that seemed less than clean.

A nice change of pace kind of away from the hub bub of more Central India Street. Nice place to take in a coffee(snacks were a little dry) and some conversation. they didn’t have the drink I wanted so they suggested an Americano. It was fine. I like that it’s not crazy crowded. Nice, helpful servers.

This is one of many coffee shops in Little Italy. I stopped by here after a nice morning walk for some coffee and to get some work done. I ordered their small 12 oz house coffee for $ 1.95, and I spotted a nice almond croissant with almonds and almond paste for $ 2.00, so I had that too.( )The coffee was great. It was smooth and rich. The croissant was exceptionally flaky.( ) The outside layer literally fell apart as I bit into it. It was very good, be that as it may, I do wish it held together better, but not a biggie. The coffee and pastry were very successful. I wanted to give this place a 4 star rating, but as I was there correcting papers amongst a few others studying or quietly using their laptops, the employees were kinda annoying. They spent a lot of time rambling on about their personal situations. I usually don’t mind, but having to her some girls dating experiences, and personal on goings, was not what I signed up for, when I came here. Let’s keep the convo quieter or not so personal please.
