This is not a bad choice in the food court here at UTC. They have salads and sandwhiches. I always opt for the same salad though! I get the Asian Chicken salad and I am never disappointed in it. The dressing is Rocking and the salad is big(Better be for the PRICE!!!). One thing is… I wish the chicken were more evenly distributed but it is what it is I suppose. The bread they serve with it though is the BOMB!!! They can be slow from about 11AM to 1PM which is peak lunch time at the mall so be forewarned!

Sandwiches are decent, but the salads are absolutely terrible, which is why they coat them in sauce. Dry lettuce, flavorless tomatoes, dry carrots. Service is OK, nothing special.

Had the tuna«melted» not so melted… The veggies were cold so the cheese was not melted my sandwich was cold due to all the added cold tuna and veggies. The bread was rhe best part of the whole thing. Honestly I can make a tuna melt at home way better than this.

I tried this place on my lunch break the other day. Seemed pretty good from the pictures and looked healthy. I liked the bread and the salads. I’m not to found of the sandwiches. The prices are a little high for what your getting. I mean you can’t really complain in a fast food court of the mall! Okay spot, not worth me going back though. I can say I tried them.

REVIEWFORSTONEOVENGOURMETSANDWICHES – GOTMESICK I ate there last night at 7:30 and had a BBQ chicken sandwich. It got me sick. I got both diarrhea and vomiting. The chances that anything else making me sick is probably less than 1%. The only food I ate that day that could potentially grow bacteria on it was at Stone Oven. I have not been that sick in a very long time. It just went on and on for more than ½ hour. What a nightmare and I would never take the chance of eating there again.

PEACHD* REVIEW — Spicy Chicken Sandwich. I have heard great things and was happy that they offered this for lunch. UTC is relatively close to me but the parking there recently have been insane. It was definitely convenient to have Stone Oven delivered to us. PACKAGING — EXCELLENT. classic Stone Oven to-go packaging. You get two halve sandwiches and salad. Feels extremely solid. FOOD — I already liked this place and I like it even more now. The Spicy Chicken Sandwich contains spicy chicken breast, provolone cheese, chipotle mayo, black bean and corn salsa and avocados! If that sounds like a great time, you are correct! Their classic bread is soft and delicious as always. Everything blended together really well. This is probably my new favorite sandwich from them. The salad they paired this meal with is their garden salad which is a good as side salads go. I’m hoping that Peachd offers other sandwiches from them in the future! * Peachd is a food delivery service that delivers lunches from local restaurants to companies around San Diego.

My salad was very good! And the bread was insane. I ordered it ahead of time and told them I would come back to pick it up, when I came back my salad had been sitting on the counter for about 30 minutes. I wish someone would have thought to put it in the fridge until I came to pick it up… Good food, decent service, very generous portions but still a bit pricey. However, I would definitely go back.

Stone oven have great sandwiches. I love their Spicy chicken & Santa Fe Hot Ham sandwiches. Potato salad is also great. Although I think they can definitely improve on their services. This guy always throw a lid at me when I asked for one because I couldn’t finish my sandwich. The price have gone up through about 9.50 for a sandwich. Pricey but pretty good once in awhile.

A viable food court option Spicy Chicken Sandwich with the included garden salad. The Salad was really the star here. The sandwich was okay but there were too many soft and wet components. The bread, chicken, sauce, melted cheese, avocado, were all very soft and a bit squishy. it would have been nice to at least one firm or crunchy element. — Nothing hidden here, from the proofing of the dough, to the cooking in the oven, it’s all out in the open for you to view. — Price — Sandwich(side salad) and a drink = around $ 10. — 3.5 stars — Their salads are what most people were ordering. They looked terrific for a mall food court.

Went to this place for lunch at the food court in UTC. The food was good, but it was pretty pricey and I didn’t fell like I got a lot of it. My sandwich was pretty short and lacked veggies. If you’re just hungry, you’re better off going somewhere else. If you’re craving focaccia bread though, you should swing by here since they make it fresh.

The first time I have eaten at a place ‘cold’(without Unilocaling it) in years, and boy was I sorry. I had the Garlic and Basil Chicken sandwich, which was poor at best. The bread is great(wish I could give it 1.5 — extra .5 points for the bread), but the bread is warm, they try to melt the cheese, but the veggies were cold and it all winds up being a lukewarm over mayo-ed wilted atrocity. It’s in a mall food court, but still… walking up I expected better.

Like the sandwiches. Gotten several different ones and has never been disappointed. Bread is very yummy. Salads are also good but I prefer sandwiches. Strawberry lemonade is also very good. Line can get long so go early.

Create your gourmet sandwich: turkey, Swiss, garlic mayo, lettuce & tomato with a side of Cesar salad and focaccia bread makes for the best post-workout meal. I save my leftovers for lunch at work because it’s way too much for me to eat in one sitting. Price is really great for quality and quantity! They serve their food on a platter and they load it up! Their focaccia bread is something u can’t stop talking about! Goes really well with the cesar dressing or garlic mayo. But they give you a small cup of chipotle mayo and some other mayo on the side as dipping sauce.

We went to check out the UTC food court and ended up at Stone Oven because it had one of the longer lines. Big mistake! I ordered the tuna salad sandwich and chose a caesar salad from among the side dishes that are included with a sandwich order. The caesar salad was a bunch of chopped up generic lettuce leaves with some artificial-looking croutons and a few shavings of cheese. It came undressed(i.e., without a dressing); maybe I should have sought out some secret house caesar salad dressing at the cash register? The sandwich was a little better than the caesar and would have rounded up to the three-star level were it not being driven south by the side salad. I’m glad that I came to UTC as a break from my food truck experiences, but next time I’m likely to try Tender Greens, whose line was even longer than Stone Oven’s.

Brainstorming session occasioning the formation of the business idea for Stone Oven: Person #1: Subs? Person #2: Subs are played out. Why don’t we go back to the basics and just do sandwiches? #1: But how will we differentiate ourselves from the one in Johnny’s lunchbox? #2: Hmm… by… replacing the… white bread with… wheat? #1: Not sexy enough. #2: I know! Instead of bread, let’s do foccacia! It’s trendy but classic. #1: Go team!(Slow motion high five!) And, that, my friend, is history. Well, at least a blip. And it’s really all you need to know about this chain. The«Garlic and Basil» chicken sandwich I ordered was competently made, with the chicken seeming pleasantly juicy. The bread, for all my snarky posturing above, was quite tasty although it gave me a mass-produced Subway-like impression. Lastly, chicken sandwiches tend to depend on the rest of the package and that’s where this one fell a little flat. The garlic and mayo basil tasted neither terribly garlicky nor basilicious. Summary: The foccacia isn’t facacta, so yay!

Stone Oven is located in the UTC Westfield food court. However, this food court is actually one I don’t mind going to. The bathrooms are clean and there are a good number of fast food vendors there. Nonetheless, this review is about Stone Oven. Their salads are DELICIOUS. I have tried a couple of them, but I love the Asian Chicken salad with the dressing on the side. Another great option if you want something small is the garden salad. It is so tasty and the ingredients are just as fresh as their bigger salads. The side salad is at a great price point just under $ 3. The bigger salads are just under $ 8 and come with freshly baked Artisan bread. The bread is seasoned with spices and cheese. The salads are huge, as in full plate sized so you will feel full or can save some for later. Service is rather slow, but this can be expected since the salads are made to order. However, if you are on a time crunch during your lunch, you might want to skip out on Stone Oven. If you have the time though, Stone Oven is well worth it. If you are unsure if you want the bread, they do have samples of the bread and dipping sauces available before you order. My other piece of feedback about their take-out containers: I usually order my salads to go, so I wish they had a different to go container. Many times I have brought the salad to work or just to the outdoor seating they have at the mall only to find that the lid didn’t snap on tightly and part of my salad fell out of the container. Maybe a bowl-like container would be more secure? Not sure. I’m now just more careful with carrying my salads when getting them to go.

I was famished after purchasing baby furniture at Pottery Barn kids and getting depressed at Victoria Secret, so I stopped in at the food court. They are under going a lot of renovations so the noise level was annoying, but I didn’t care. I’m not a big mall food court person but I was desperate and stopped in at Stone Oven, one of the few places I have yet to try. I built my own sandwich with the honey chicken chipotle sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and yes, pickles for this preggers! The chipotle sauce hit the spot for me but all else, it failed to do much for me. I had the sandwich with a side of pasta salad and the pesto sauce on it was rather tasty. I was pretty full after that plate, so I had no room to get frozen yogurt next door. The place isn’t bad, but then again, it’s a food court stop in, didn’t expect much from it to begin with.

Recently new to the food court. It reminds me of Pluto in the Bay Area. You can make your own salad or choose one from the menu. I got the chicken salad with glazed walnut, blue cheese, vinaigrette and comes with the flat bread about $ 8. I really enjoyed this salad. I love the sweetness of the walnuts and the chicken tasted good. I got the same thing at tender greens next door sometime ago and they gave me all the butt ends of the lettuce! Here I got good greens and definitely better pieces then at TG. The flat bread focaccia was good too! It had a little sweetness to it. I will come back to try other salads and maybe a sandwich as well. A great additional to the food court!

We opted to try Stone for lunch. I built my own sandwich for $ 8. I had the turkey, mayo and swiss(condiments– tomato, lettuce and cucumber). You have your choice to have a hot or cold sandwich. I chose for them to heat it up. I also chose the basil pasta salad for the comp side. The portion is fairly large. You can probably split the entrée with someone. I like how the focaccia bread is thin and wasn’t too heavy. The pasta salad was decent. Looked like the best side option also. I was scared off by the potato chunks with the potato salad. Too large… Good alternative in the UTC food court. Note: Gets busy during weekday lunch.
